CRACKED LIFE : CHAPTER 31 – 40

Chapter 38
“Gena, I didn’t know klling her was part of the plan!” Stella bit her thumb and shook her head relentlessly.
“What exactly is wrong with you? Getting her out of the way was the plan! She’s dead, and there’s nothing anyone can do about it. Alex and Justin will waste their time, they will come back to us. Shouldn’t we be happy?” Gena said to her.
“I should be celebrating, but I feel bad about all of this… It doesn’t even make sense anymore. Justin obviously doesn’t like me and…”
“Are you a dummy? Now that Sophia is out of the way, do your best to se.duce him and get him to forget about her and love you instead!” Gena spat out.
“What if Justin doesn’t find her and refuses to come back? He doesn’t even look at me twice, what if it was a waste of time after all?” Stella pondered sadly.
“That won’t happen if you play your cards well! Don’t worry, I started this, I will end it. I also have people outside, I’m not as stupid as all of you,” Gena scoffed.
Stella knew Gena was determined to do whatever it takes to have Alex by her side. If she also helps her get Justin, she wouldn’t bother about Sophia again. The girl is no one important.
“We have to be careful now, everyone is being suspected, especially when you were seen following her, and Mrs Smith is no fool, her prime suspects must be us since we are her known enemies” Stella cautioned.
“That’s true, and a good reason why we should lie low and let my men outside this organization take care of Justin and Alex for the meantime”
“I hope whatever your plan is works, I don’t want to fall into Mrs. Smith’s trap, she won’t go easy on us”

“Sleeping?” West asked when he got closer to the bed where Sophia lay quietly.
Sophia turned her head to look at him. She flashed him a smile that made her stomach churn especially when she perceived the aroma of the food he must’ve bought because he carried a small bag with him.
“I can’t sleep…” She murmured.
“You need it,” West advised. “I think you need this too,” he brought out the food and fruits he bought.
“Thank you so much. Words cannot express how grateful I am for everything you’ve done for me, I wish I can repay you.”
“You don’t have to pay me back. I was heading home when I met you, Sophia. I wish to continue my journey tomorrow” West said.
“Well… I’m sorry for hindering your journey, I will…”
“Come with me, please?” He stated flatly, he can’t bear to watch her go in that weak state. Maybe she has gotten into his head.
Sophia tore her eyes away from West’s skin ripping stare. She took the bag that contained the food he bought from him and scanned it for something to eat. She was very hungry.
An apple caught her eyes immediately, she brought it out, and put it between her teeth immediately to devour it when he stopped her.
“That’s not healthy, I will wash it for you,” he said and took the apple away from her.
“Who cares about that?” She mumbled. This new Sophia doesn’t care about cleanliness or being hygienic, those things don’t cross her mind anymore.
West washed the apple and other fruits he bought with canned water. He washed the nylon bag before he put the fruits into it again and gave it to her.
Neat guy, she thought. She took a bite of the apple and chewed loudly, the idea was for the sound to obscure her ears from hearing any other thing he wanted to say. She had to think fast.
He folded his hands across his chest and watched her, he couldn’t help grinning. “You might bite your tongue.”
Sophia kept quiet and focused on savouring the sweet fruits. When she finally looked up at his face, she wished her heart would accept the kind guy, no doubt, her problems will be over.
Her heart flutters at the memory of Justin, she wasn’t supposed to feel happy thinking of his lips on hers and she won’t stop blushing when she remembers the taste of his lips. How would she be able to create a room for this amazing personality? She has gone completely crazy!
West came to crouch down beside her, he rummaged through the nylon to find something he would eat, but he hissed and pushed the bag away.
“You will go home with me. I know I don’t have any right to make decisions for you, but you have to know that I like you and I don’t let people I care about go far away from me.” He said confidently.
Sophia choked on the fruit. He offered her water, but she shook her head to decline the offer. She stood up from the sheets and paced around the room. What does this guy know about her?
“I know you must’ve summed me up to be unbearably selfish and too straightforward, but I know that you will thank me later if you…”
“Who do you think I am? What do you know about me? I don’t even know you for Pete’s sake! You found me, good… thanks for saving me, but I can’t just do anything you say and…”
“Hello!” A deep voice made Sophia clamp her mouth.
She turned sharply to see who the intruder is and was shocked to see her best friend and someone she never thought she would see around her holding her hand possessively.
“I told you guys not to come around here! What the fk is wrong with these teens?!” West yelled angrily at them as they gaped at Sophia.
“Pinch me,” Molly nudged Tyler lightly.
Tyler shook his head. “You are not dreaming” he mumbled, refusing to look away from Sophia’s astonished face.
“Wait… do you know her? Like… Do they know you, Sophia? I met them out there and I didn’t want them to upset you, so I told them to stay away,” West started.
“What a small world!” Sophia exclaimed as her eyes moved to their entwined hands.
“Sophia, is it really you that I am seeing? Oh God!” Molly went closer to her with tears already running down her cheeks. She hugged her tightly and cried.
“I never thought I’d see you again, I’m really sorry about everything…” Tyler said with a bent head.
“I don’t need anyone’s pity. I have accepted my fate and I plan to remain dead in your lives, excuse me” Sophia gently pushed Molly aside, and turned to walk away.
“I know…” Molly started, grabbing Sophia’s hand. “I know I don’t deserve to be close to you, I didn’t stand by you when you needed me the most, I told you to give Justin a chance… Sophia, I have wronged you in many ways, even at the last minute, I came for you, but I was very late. For that and more, I don’t deserve to be called your friend anymore, but I can’t bear to watch you walk away like this, please, don’t go,”
“What’s the point of me staying? Everyone will hate you if I am seen with you. Even your parents won’t be proud of you anymore if they know you are still friends with me. Yes, I’m no longer the Sophia everyone was happy to hang out with…” She fought back her tears.
West paced around the room like a haunted man. He didn’t understand what they were talking about, nor did he know who these people were. Sophia has to explain everything to him soon before his head bursts and she is coming with him whether she likes it or not.
Molly shook her head and refused to let her go. “I don’t care what people say about you, I know you are not what those videos say. Sophia, you are still my best friend, I can talk to my parents and you will live with us until we figure out what to do”
“I feel happy knowing that I have a loyal friend like you, Molly,” Sophia shrugged, “but I can’t go back now, I have a mission to complete. I must leave now!” She withdrew her hand from Molly’s grip and left.
Molly went down on her knees and wailed. “I’m so sorry, I didn’t desert you, I looked everywhere for you. Sophia, please, don’t go,”
West exhaled, he carried his belongings and ran after Sophia. Tyler knelt down beside Molly and assured her Sophia would be back even though he wasn’t sure about it. He gave her a shoulder to lean on as she wetted his school shirt with her tears.

Mr. Smith kept flogging Miss Lola until bI.ood oozed out of her ears, nose and mouth. He pushed his anger into the belt he was using to wh!p her.
“Sir, I think she is d.ead” Lee reported when he noticed that the lady wasn’t moving again.
“She has to d!e again!” Mr. Smith screamed. He removed his shirt and told them to bring Cynthia too. “I gave them everything, yet they sold me out without hesitation!!”
He wh!pped Cynthia for ten minutes, when he got tired of htting the two ladies, he sat down and placed his legs on their cold bodies.
“Why didn’t I see this coming? I was almost caught today by the police because of that Fred, and this is all your faults! You guys are senseless!!” He yelled at his men.
“Sir, I think we should lay low for now that the cops are aroused, we might jump into their net if we make any single mistake” Lee advised.
Mr Smith stood up aggressively and smacked him down. “Lay low for what? To h’ll with your useless words! Get me every single detail about his wife and children, all of them must die!!”
“Okay, sir!” Lee bowed and left.
“Take these trashes away!” He ordered.
Flying Dragon called some of the men to come carry Miss Lola and Cynthia away.
“Make sure to keep them alive, if they d!e, revive them back because I am not done with them!”
The men moped at him. He had to yell at them before they carried out his orders.

Mrs. Smith looked at the faces of the assasins. He had called both newbies and special agents for an emergency meeting before ordering the special a$sasins to see him in her office.
“Gena, why did you leave the car and neglect my orders?” She asked, glaring at Gena. She recalled telling her to stay behind and keep watch at the gate to know when they are being blocked.
Gena lowered her head and twisted her fingers. “I’m sorry, boss. I didn’t mean to disobey you, I just wanted to take a look at the inside of the barracks. That was all, I didn’t hurt Sophia, why would I do that?”
“I didn’t talk about Sophia here” Mrs. Smith knew it from the beginning that Gena dislikes Sophia, she is deliberately making her confess. “Why was she shot? A lot of information leaked on that mission which led to the failure to terminate three of the men. All of you must be held accountable for what happened!”
“You said it yourself that there’s a spy within this organization, and all that started from the very moment Sophia joined us. If my assumptions are correct, I think nemesis caught up with her” Stella stated.
Mrs. Smith sent her a searching look. She already understood from the p®isoning incident who the enemies are, but she kept mute because they are only fighting against Sophia and they are not any harm to the organization.
“You all are dismissed! I will look into that. Excuse me,” she left them.
“I just hope Alex and Justin are doing well out there.” Skyler mumbled and walked away.
“I miss Celina. Sometimes I just wish if I had left her in the streets so she would never think about revenge. Maybe she would be alive now” Gena shook her head.
“I can’t believe… I should have left Sophia in that hotel too. She might be a trained slvt now, and would be making a lot of money. She would’ve easily forgotten about the pain and would be alive too” Stella groaned.
“I thought the meeting was over?”
