CHAPTER 146

Axel raised his head to stare at her and a proud smile escaped his lips.

He couldn’t believe they finally made love, and she doing her best just to please him totally made him happy.

“I love you, Mel. And I promise never to break you,” he whispered into her ears, hoping she would hear the sincerity behind his voice.

It was already getting late and Lauren wasn’t home yet, she went out with her boyfriend, Aaron.

Paisley was bored, she was all alone in the house and that added to her boredom.

She let out a frustrated groan, throwing her phone to the side. There was nothing fascinating for her to do, she was just alone.

That moment, there was a knock on the door. A relieved sigh escaped her lips which surprised her because she never knew how bored she was until that moment.

She stood up from the couch and made her way to the door.

“You finally decided to show…” Her words cut off in her throat when she saw the least person she was expecting… Ace.

“What are you doing here? How do you know I’m here?” She questioned.

Ace shrugged before stretching a shopping bag she never noticed.

“Here, for you,” he smiled.

Paisley raised a brow at him. But nevertheless, she collected the bag from him

She peeked into the bag and an indescribable feeling stirred deeply inside her. Slowly, she raised her head to stare at him.

“You never forgot this?,” Her voice trembled lightly.

“I know I was a jerk, Paisley. But, please give me the chance to make things right.

Let’s forget about the past and start all over again… Please,” there was a hint of desperation in his voice.

He knew what he went through for the past two weeks. She had been ignoring him and it was killing him slowly.

He moved closer to her and held her hand in his.

“Let me make things right for us, Paisley. Let me love you, please” he whispered.

“Melanie…” Paisley started gently.

“She’s in full support. You don’t have to worry about anyone but just… Me,” he said.

Paisley bit her lips hard as she stared at him. She needed no one to tell her how much Ace had changed over the weeks.

He was totally different from the Ace she knew. This Ace was a sweet one, a cute bunny.

In a slow motion, her head leaned closer to his till her lips met with his ear. Then she whispered,

“If you ever hurt me again, then that’ll be the end for you,”

Ace’s eyes widened. Was she ready to give him another chance?

Paisley made to pull away but his arms stopped her immediately by holding her tight.

“Thank you so much, Essie. I promise not to hurt you, I’ll never do that,” he rushed happily.

Paisley smiled in his arms. Even though she had lied to herself a lot of time, deep down, she knew how much she’s still in love with him.

Her only prayer was not to regret this for the second time.
