Ryan scoffed at Damien’s words as if he had just heard the biggest joke
“Attracted to who? The crippled lady? Hilarious”
“That’s rude Ryan, she isn’t crippled, you know that”
Damien frowned at Ryan’s hurtful words
If Louise was here, she would feel dejected to hear someone referring to her as crippled.
“Well, she can’t walk can she?
Ryan said
“She can but needs support to for now, she’ll get better for sure”
Ryan just rolled his eyes at Damien’s talk
“Whatever, you actually shouldn’t be too close to your patients Damien, people will talk”
Ryan uttered as if concerned
Damien raised his brows
“Who would talk? I think she’s cute and I like her”
“What?
Ryan gaped at Damien
Did he just say he likes her?
“Well just be careful, women like that would do anything to get sympathy and leech on men, don’t be fooled by their innocence!
Ryan rebuked Damien like a father discipling his child
He hated girls who looks too innocent
They were the worst
They tend to be a little lamb but they were wolves in reality
Damien smirked
“Well I wouldn’t mind if she leeches on me”
He said and Ryan became more annoyed
He looked at Damien
“I’m warning you Damien, girls like her are nothing but vipers!
Ryan said with gritted teeth
“Like Annabelle?
Damien said and as predicted Ryan’s jaw ticked and his gaze darkened as his whole demure changed from the jovial Ryan to the strange cold Ryan
“I’ll leave now”
Ryan uttered and walked towards the door
“you still can’t forget her, can you? You really need to move on Ryan”
“Does it look like I haven’t?!
Ryan boomed
“Of course you haven’t! you haven’t Ryan, do you know what you look like right now? You look like a frustrated puppy! just at the mention of her name!
Tell me how that looks like moving on?!
Damien boomed this time annoyed
He feels bad and angry to realize that Ryan who he sees as a junior brother hadn’t moved on from the worst pain and nightmare!
Annabelle, that name had caused Ryan so much pain.
She was also responsible for turning Ryan into a playboy he had become.
Initially, Ryan was nothing like who he was now, he devoted his time and care to the woman who stole his heart and then also decided to cut it into shreds and return it to him in a platter.
From that day, Ryan became a shell of himself, hiding his sorrow behind the cheerful facade and toyed with girls like a child plays with one’s toy.
Ryan opened his mouth to say something to Damien but nothing came out so he gave up and with clenched fist, he walked out of Damien’s office.
Damien sighed
This is so frustrating
He thought
A knock on the door brought him back
Asking whoever it was to come in, a nurse pushed the door open
“You have an operation thirty minutes later Sir”
“Sure, I’ll get ready and tell the team to do so too”
