By the time Lola reached home, that evening, she was totally frightened, but what was even more frightening was the fact that the door to the house was left wide open when she got there, “that’s strange” she thought looking puzzled, “why would Jeff leave the door wide open?”, she entered and closed the door behind her calling out to Jeff that she was home but there was no response, “or could he be sleeping?” She wondered as she ran upstairs to knock on the door to his room but it was locked, “he can’t be that careless” she debated in her mind, trying to convince herself that Jeff couldn’t have intentionally left the house without making sure the door was locked.
Eventually, she gave up the search and walked towards the kitchen to get a glass of water only to be greeted with a most horrifying sight, broken plates and mugs with a bloodied knife on the floor littered with even more blood; the kitchen looked like a hurricane had just occurred inside some minutes earlier, there had obviously been some fight or struggle before she returned home.
The smell of fresh blood was so strong that it was nauseating, She couldn’t seem to make sense of what was staring her in the face, “what is happening here?” She thought to herself stepping back slowly, suddenly the flash back of the threat Deji had made some minutes earlier suddenly came to mind, “could he have been trying to tell me what he had already done?” She thought, “has he found out about Jeff and I already?”“Noo!” She screamed running out of the house at the thought of Deji being responsible for what she had just seen, “if Deji was behind this, then my life is in serious danger”…..
