CHAPTER 70
THREE DAYS LATER**
“I’m so tired!!” Brittany groaned and leaned back on her chair.
Nicholas looked at her and smiled before facing back his laptop. These few days has been really nice for him and also for her.
During there free days they’ll tour the city and also have some fun and he could feel that she’s slowly loosening herself around him.
Right now, they’re working on some project since they really missed a lot from work back at Mexico.
“I wanna rest..” Brittany whined.
“You still have a lot of files to work on” Nicholas said, his fingers running speedily on the keyboard of his laptop.
“Yeah but we’ve been working for three hours straight. I’m not a machine” Brittany said and picked her phone.
“Already missing your son?” Nicholas spoke, closing his laptop to face her.
“Yeah, it’s been 5 days since I last saw him.” Brittany said, looking at her wallpaper which was a pic of Alex.
“Well you should be happy. Tomorrow is our last day here” Nicholas said and she nodded.
“I’m getting hungry. What do you wanna eat?” Brittany said standing up.
“Pasta and chicken please” Nicholas said.
“Okay, on it” Brittany said.
“Just look at you.. Cooking for me like a-”
“If say wife imma hit you. I’m serious” Brittany said.
“Okay I won’t say it wife” Nicholas smirked.
He immediately stood up and dodged the shoe Brittany shot him with before running away.
“Come here!!” Brittany ran after him.

“Like that? Yeah! Perfect!!” The photographer said as he took pictures of Savannah
Well the rumors completely díed down and now people seem to be happy for her and Kenneth. Her career also improved since many people seem to want her to model the goods.
Kenneth sat next to Evan as they watched her.
“Savannah is really perfect” Evan commented.
“That’s my girl” Kenneth smiled and turned to Evan.
“How are you feeling now?” Kenneth asked.
“Well better. I’m gonna wait for her no matter how long it’s gonna take me” Evan said with great determination.
“But what if she falls for someone else?” Kenneth asked.
Evan looked down and sighed.
“Then I’ll just have to move on and let go of my feelings for her” Evan said.
Kenneth patted his shoulder and smiled.
“Don’t loose hope dude” He said and Evan nodded before smiling.
“Babe! How was I?” Savannah said, coming towards him.
He pulled her to his arms and pecked her like before patting her hair.
“You were perfect as usual” Kenneth smiled.
“Thanks boo” Savannah smiled.
“Need to go and change, I’ll be back!”
“I can come help you vndress!” Kenneth said.
“Don’t you dare!! Navghty boy!!” Savannah said and scurried away.
Kenneth chuckled.
“Oppressors” Evan scoffed making Kenneth to laugh.

“Dad!!” Aidan exclaimed happily.
“Wow son! You didn’t tell me you’ll be coming back” Xavier said, standing up from his couch..
“Yeah. Wanted to surprise you” Aidan smiled.
Well his trip was just for 5 days so it ended fast. He dropped Sandy off before heading back home..
“I also did the job you asked me to” Aidan said, sitting down while the maids went upstairs with his things.
“That’s why you’re my son.. They’ll think twice before stealing my money” Xavier said and lit his roll of weed before smoking on it..
He puffed out smoke before looking at Aidan with a serious look on his face.
“Aidan.. I have something to discuss with you” He said.
“Me too dad.. I’ll be getting married to Sandy next month” Aidan smiled
Xavier immediately frowned.
“You know I’ll never approve of that” Xavier said.
“Dad..”
“Don’t you wanna have a happy family, you have a son with Brittany Aidan” Xavier said.
“But I don’t want her as a wife” Aidan said.
“Are you sure?” Xavier asked.
“Look me into the eyes and tell me that the moments you spent with Brittany you weren’t truly happy, that she has never done thing that Sandy has never done for you.” Xavier said.
Aidan looked at him but slowly looked away and bit his lips.
“Don’t you want to form a happy family with your son and Brittany. She’ll love you better than Sandy has ever done for you” Xavier said and held his shoulder.
“I have a plan on how we can separate Nicholas and Brittany but if you want it to work perfectly, you have to make Brittany forgive you… Don’t do it for her but do it for your son” Xavier said

THE SMITH’S**
“How do you feel like going on your first day to work” Mrs Smith asked to Rhett who was fixing his tie properly.
“Well really nervous mom” Rhett swallowed.
“Don’t worry.. You’re my son! You’re the best!” Mrs Smith rubbed his shoulder.
Well Mrs Smith got discharged from the hospital and also Jessica really did it, she contacted Brittany who told Nicholas. Nicholas gladly accepted and he’ll interview him once he gets back but for now he can start work.
He’s the company’s marketer.
“Alright, I’ll be leaving mom.” Rhett said and kssed her forehead before leaving the house.
He got out and took a cab which took him to the company. He smiled as he stared at the company, finally his dream will be accomplished.
“Well he still has to interview you. What if you fail?” His subconscious mind told him.
He quickly shook it off and got in the company. He walked to the receptionist who smiled politely.
“How may I help you sir?” She asked.
“My name is Rhett Smith and I’m here for-”
“Oh the new marketer! Boss called me and told you would be coming,, please follow me. Let me show you your area of work” The lady said and led the way.
Rhett followed behind, looking around the magnificent company. They got to a sector where he could see how the products were been produced through the glassy window.
They passed the sector and then entered an office with two people in it.
“Hey guys. We have a newbie here” The lady said and the two people looked up
They were both females.
“He’s cute” One of them said and smiled.
“Rhett, these are your coworkers. Meet Paisley and Luna.” The receptionist said.
“Girls, meet Rhett” The receptionist said.
“Hey Rhett” Luna waved and smiled.
“Hi” Rhett smiled.
“So I’ll be leaving. Show him what to do girls” The lady said and left.
Luna quickly stood up from her seat and held his arm.
“You’re so cute and handsome! Gosh!! Finally, I won’t be so bored here. Paisley always spends her time with her boyfriend or her role model Brittany” Luna said and pouted.
Rhett chuckled.
“Don’t mind that blabber mouth. Here’s your office, all the equipment you’ll need are all there” Paisley gestured to the computer next to Luna’s.
“Okay thanks” Rhett said and sat down.
He looked at it and sighed before smiling.
“I’m doing this for you mom and J-J” He thought.

“I’m so hungry!!”
“Hungry!!”

Brittany closed her eyes, trying to calm down her nerves when Nicholas kept whining like a kid behind him. She opened her eyes and continued slicing the tomatoes.
“Hungry has become my middle name!!” Nicholas whined.
Brittany swiftly turned back and shot the knlfe toward him. It stuck some few inches above his head. Nicholas knees began wobbling as he saw he almost fainted.
“Finally.. Some peace” Brittany smirked an turned back to her cooking.
“Are you ¢ràzy!! You almost klled me!!” Nicholas said.
“At least you shut up” Brittany said while cooking.
“Besides I don’t miss my target. If I wanted to do so, you’ll be…déath by now” Brittany said.
Nicholas smiled and came closer.
“Does that means you care about me?” He smirked.
Brittany turned off the gas cooker when she was done cooking.
“Are you eating now?” Brittany turned to him and frowned when she saw he was standing so close to her.
“You just dodged my question. Does that means you care about me?” Nicholas smiled.
“Are you hungry or not?” Brittany crossed her arms on her chest.
“I’ll take that as a yes.. Yeah I am” He winked at her.
“Alright. Go wait at the dining room” Brittany and went to bring out the plates and cutleries.
“Awn… My cutie wife” Nicholas said in a babyish voice.
“Stop saying that.. It’s annoying” Brittany said.
“Cutie wife”
“I’ll pvnch you” Brittany frowned.
“Cutie..wife”
Brittany immediately raised her hand up to punch him but he caught her wrist and pinned them above her head.
“Not this time love, I need my face for the conference of tomorrow” He said and kssed her forehead.
“I love you” He smiled and released her.
Brittany grabbed him by the collar and slammed his back on the wall. What she did next shocked the daylight out of Nicholas.
Nicholas’s eyes widened when Brittany slammed her lips on his. Time froze for him, he could feel sparks in the pit of his stomach, his heart was beating so fast like it would explode any minute from now.
He got back to himself and closed his eyes, making the most out of the moment. Nicholas held her waist and pulled her closer to him with one of hands buried in her hair.
Brittany dipped her hand in his hair as she kssed him, he bit her lips and she responded to it.
The kss went on till Brittany got back to her senses. She pushed him away and rushed out of the kitchen.
Nicholas touched his lips while breathing heavily. He suddenly smiled and placed his hand on his beating heart.

Kenneth and Savannah got out of the company with their hands intertwined together.
“So where should we go?” Kenneth asked.
“Let’s go to a restaurant. I’m hungry” Savannah said.
“And you’ll order chicken as always” Kenneth said and Savannah chuckled.
They walked to where Kenneth’s car was parked and they were surprised to see a lady standing there.

The lady looked up and it turned out to be Ruby.
She cut her hair short and her dressing changed, she had a simple gown on and her facial expression, it was simple and genuine.
Savannah and Kenneth looked at each other.

“I.. I came to apologize for everything I did to you. I’m sorry, I’m really sorry..” She said fighting back her tears.
She then looked at Kenneth.

“Kenneth… I,, I don’t know from where to start. I played a fool out of you. I was so obsessed with your riches and wealth that I neglected love” Ruby said and looked down.
“I’m sorry.. I promise I won’t meddle anymore in your relationship. You two deserve to be happy.” Ruby said, cleaning her tears.
