Chapter 44
Three years without him had been difficult, and being with him once more was something she didn’t want to end.
Love—a feeling that is hard to let go of, a feeling that hurts yet heals and brings happiness.
“Good morning,” she said shyly, looking down at her thighs. Martin smiled and gently lifted her chin, making her gaze into his eyes.
“I prefer a kss,” he winked at her, and Evelyn blushed. She stared at him for a few seconds before pecking him on the cheek, and he smiled.
“You keep smiling,” she muttered, but Martin heard her. He chuckled and pulled her closer to him.
“It’s because I’m with my joy giver,” he whispered in her ear, and Evelyn blushed even more. She could swear she was smitten.
“Hmmm, I think we should get ready for work,” Evelyn said, glancing at the time.
“It is Sunday,” he replied, and Evelyn rolled her eyes. She was trying to change the subject.
“I think you should go take a bath, you stink,” Evelyn said, and Martin frowned, but then smirked.
“Do you mind taking a bath together?” he winked at her, and her eyes widened.
She kicked him off the bed, making him land on the ground, and he groaned in pain.
“Ouch, that hurt,” he yelled out in pain, holding his backside.
“Go take a bath, freak,” she said, trying hard not to laugh, and Martin scoffed before getting up from the ground.
“You are being harsh towards your boyfriend,” he pouted, walking into the small bathroom.
Evelyn shook her head with a smile. Martin might be a difficult person, but she couldn’t deny the fact that he was a sweet person.
She took out her diary and a pen.
“DEAR DIARY,”?
Dear diary, it is another beautiful morning to remember, another beautiful day ahead.
Words cannot express how happy I am, but my feelings inside can. I am so happy to finally be with Martin.
He might not be the best, but I know he is trying hard to be. I am so much in love with him that I can’t seem to stop smiling.
I have come to realize that those days we were dating weren’t really bad. We just didn’t understand each other.
I can’t stop smiling right now. Even as I am writing this, I just can’t stop smiling.
My love story continues…
The small door opened, and Martin walked in with a towel wrapped around his waist.
Evelyn quickly hid the diary. Her eyes were drawn to his broad, bare chest, and she gulped before quickly looking away, while Martin just smirked.
He was surely enjoying the moment.
“You know, I don’t mind you looking at me. I mean, I’m your boyfriend,” he said, still smirking.
“What? I was… I wasn’t looking at… you,” she stammered nervously.
“Hmmmm, okay, but you didn’t have to lie,” he winked at her, and she frowned, glaring at him.

Haris sat down on the couch, engrossed in his phone, with Ava sitting beside him, watching TV.
“Are they still sleeping?” the little one innocently asked, looking at the closed room door. Haris chuckled but didn’t answer.
He was scrolling through his phone when his eyes landed on a photo of a beautiful lady.
She was dressed in a red bikini, exposing most of her body, and he gulped as he stared at the picture.
He didn’t know why his heart was pounding, even though he didn’t know her.
