Episode 108
“You are good looking, handsome, and above all, you are rich.”
“Oh… My wife is complementing me. But you still didn’t want to marry me,” he says, almost looking through me.
I don’t know where this conversation is heading.
“Yay!!! I don’t need to marry you just because you are rich or handsome. Even I am rich and gorgeous.”
“I see that. So, do you think I am not a marriage material? Like #AmINotMarriageMaterial. It was trending a few days back.”
“What… I didn’t say that.” I laugh now.
“You meant that. Girls are after my money, true. And I didn’t have any girlfriends, is also true because I know how they are… I had only Mir and Piya with me.”
I find peace at last. I sigh.
“Happy?”
“Why should I be? I am not jealous.”
“Did I say you are?”
I am lost for words now.
“Yes… You did. Don’t fool me, okay? And pay attention to the stove. I don’t want to have burned pasta.”
He laughs. I join in. He looks so different, so calm.
“Actually, granny loved Italian food. Grandad and Granny went to Italy for their first tour, and since then, she was a fan. She always tried making new recipes, and I was the one on whom all the experiments were made.”
Ansh speaks freely for the first time. There is a constant smile on his face, a glow.
“You are listening, right?”
“Of course…” I reply spontaneously.
“Yay! I asked her to teach me one of her favorites. Actually, I enjoy cooking, and I owe that to her.
“Ansh… You miss her.”
“Yay!! Very much. But then you can’t change your destiny. One must remember the person you love with those happy moments you have spent with them. And then I met you and Ma. You complete her absence.”
I was astonished hearing that.
“Really…”
He smiled.
“Okay!! So who is having the delicious Pasta??? It’s ready to enjoy….”
“Me….” I said laughing.
Ansh served it in two plates. And then we settled down at the dining table. The area was dimly lit but it felt peaceful. Serene and calm.
The smell was delicious, and my mouth was already watering.
I put a spoon in my mouth. I could feel Ansh staring at me. He wasn’t still eating. Waiting for me, perhaps.
“So…” He asked, giving me a questioning look.
“What…” I said, still taking another bite.
“How’s it?”
“Hmmm… It’s not as good as the last time you made it…” I paused for a while.
Ansh looked upset.
“…Well… It’s more flavorful and cheesy…. It’s awesome. I love it, and I’m sure even the baby does,” I said, smiling.
“I knew it…. I just knew it. My baby would surely love it. Since I made it,” he looked so happy.
He nearly jumped off the chair and came towards me. I thought he would nearly kss me.
“My Baby?? Huh!” I said, looking at him. He was just staring at me with a cunning look.
“What is it that the baby loves? Huh!!!”
We heard a husky voice and turned around.
“Dad!!!” We both exclaimed together.

ANSH’S POV
When I returned home, everything was dark. Only a dim light coming from our room was visible. I wonder where did Ahana go or what was she doing.
I slowly tiptoed into the room. Then I saw Ahana sleeping. I was a bit surprised to see her sleeping like this. She is normally awake till I come home.
But pregnancy is bringing out a lot of things from her. And I was loving all of them.
After having a good long stare at her, I went for a shower. It felt refreshing.
I was a bit hungry, so I went to the kitchen, and surprisingly there was nothing to eat.
I don’t know if Ahana ate or not and why wasn’t there anything. It was around 10:30 when I came.
I called Dad, and he informed me that they had gone to his old friend’s house. So, technically I had nothing to do, so I went back and slept beside Ahana.
I was worried a bit when my eyes opened, and Ahana wasn’t beside me. I got off and found her in the kitchen. She must be hungry.
“….. I loved it.”
When she said that, it felt really good. I was never aware that it would be such a good feeling.
Her huge smile with those dimples made my tired day. It was genuine, and I know she liked it. Just then we heard Dad’s husky voice.
” Dad!!!”
” Hmmm… What?? Did you guys think that we won’t be coming home tonight? I can see that you are enjoying yourselves.
” Dad said coming towards us. Grandad was just behind him. I quickly retreated from Ahana’s side.
” So…. Are you two on a date? This late night. And what is it that the baby would love? I am curious to know. ” Grandad said giving a smile and sitting at his usual place on the dining table.
