OUR MARRIAGE IS JUST A PIECE OF PAPER : EPISODES 61 – 70

Episode 65

He was all in his business attire. Grey Armani. Smart and Superb. Man!! Ahana.. Stop Drooling.

But, I rarely see him in casuals. I wonder if he’s so comfortable wearing this.

Ansh came near Ma and gave her a hug. When did they grow so close?

“Ma… Seriously I am upset. You should have told me at least.” And this statement resulted in laughter. I don’t think that was necessary.

“I know… But you know even I was aloof. But Ansh.. I want you to take care of Ahana since we all are fleeing away for a couple of months.”

I was taken by surprise when Ma said this.

It’s not for the first time I am all alone by myself, but yeah… This was a bit long.

Ansh looked at me. I didn’t really need him to take care of me. Never!!

“Ma… I can take care of myself. I don’t need a bodyguard.” I said quite proudly.

“Is it Ahana…. Don’t you remember the Business Party?” Ansh whispered in my ears.

Bringing back the fresh memories of that night when I drank for the first time. Thankfully no one heard it.

“See… They are already enjoying themselves. I am sure they are gonna have a blast in our absence.”

Ansh’s Dad said making everyone laugh, and I was a bit embarrassed now.

We didn’t share anything, not even a good friendship, and our family was already thinking so much. But I didn’t realize why Ansh was smiling.

“Hi Good evening …. I am your pilot, Jack. Your flight is ready.” The pilot announced.

Ansh and his Dad were speaking to my Dad and grandpa. Just then Ma called me.

“Aha… I can see in your eyes that things are a bit off between you two. Now it’s time to make everything back to normal. You two will have some time alone and try to make the most out of it.”

“No… Ma, everything is fine.” I said, looking here and there.

“You can’t even lie properly. Believe me if you take a step forward, Ansh will take 10.

You have to make things right. Okay… Do you understand what I’m saying?

It’s not that you can’t do it…. It’s just that you are being ignorant.”

All I could do was nod. Honestly, I didn’t know what she saw in Ansh that made her realize he is quite a humble person.

How could I tell her that even before we had a lot of time alone, but it all went downhill in the end.

Anyway, I never disagree with her.
“Mom… Take care. Have a lot of fun and send me lots of pictures,” I said, trying to change the topic.

“Yeah! Sure. Just like how you did when you went to Switzerland.”
She was teasing me now. I don’t know how long I have to endure all this.

“Haha… Very funny. Take your medicines on time. Don’t overexert yourself….”

“All the good advice only for your mom and nothing for your dads and granddads,” Ansh’s grandad said.
“Grandad… It’s not like…”

“I was just kidding. Let’s get going now. I’m sure we’re gonna miss your coffee, Ahana…..” He said.

“Hey!! I remembered something.”
I quickly went to my car and brought the thermos.

“I’ve made some coffee for you. I hope it can keep you going. It’s not much, but yeah! It will help,” I said, handing them the container.

“Oh!! Ahana. It’ll be a lifesaver.”
“You two also have fun and miss us,” Dad said while boarding the flight.

We said goodbye to them and watched their flight take off.

Ansh was still beside me. He had come in his car, and I was in mine.

So technically, we were going back alone, but then I remembered what Mom said. I had to make a move.

“Ansh…” I called him when he was about to leave.
“Hmm….” He said, moving towards his car.

“Um… I was… Um… Thinking that… If you and I could go for dinner somewhere tonight?”

I don’t know why, but now I was stumbling over my words.

He quickly looked at me, and I knew I was acting a bit silly.

I looked somewhere else, avoiding his gaze.

“Ahana…” He called me in his same deep voice.

“Huhhh!! Yeah… What do you say?” I prompted, trying to sound casual.
“I’m busy tonight. I’ve already made plans with someone.

So maybe some other day,” he said so casually. I could feel the simmering anger within me.

I shouldn’t have asked him in the first place. It was so obvious he wasn’t going anywhere with me.

I shouldn’t have listened to Mom. I feel so disappointed now. Nothing can happen.

It’s better to be ignorant than face humiliation…

“Ohkk……” I said and quickly left in my car. As expected, he didn’t even try to stop me.

He just stood there, busy on his cell phone. Hopeless is what I call him.

I reached the office around 7. I was in no mood to work, and I didn’t want to go home either. I knew it would be empty, and I hate being alone.

Just then I heard a knock on my door.
“Come in….”
“Mam… Actually, I need Ansh’s signature. So…”

“So… Get it from him.”
“But he’s not in his cabin. You might know where he is since you were with him at the airport.”

What! But Ansh was supposed to be in his cabin. It was already 9. Then where did he go?

“I’m busy tonight. I’ve already made plans with someone.”

I remembered his words.
“Okay… Give me. I’ll take it home and give him.”

I quickly wrapped up and hurried to our house. In the back of my mind, I was still wondering where he went and with whom he was committed.

I tried to tell myself that it shouldn’t concern me. It’s none of my business.

When I entered our house, it was all pitch dark. Of course, since no one was there.

I had planned to change and order Chinese food, it was my favorite. Why should I bore myself because of someone?

I was going to enjoy it with a nice movie, preferably one starring Shah Rukh Khan.

As I was about to go to my room, I saw a faint light coming from our dining room.
