Episode 84

Ahana stood very close beside him, laughing. I couldn’t understand what she saw in him that she didn’t see in me. Why did she feel so comfortable with him?

Ahana was dressed in navy blue trousers and a black shirt, her hair tied back in a ponytail with a few loose strands covering her eyes. Suddenly, Jaai reached out and brushed away those strands that were bothering her.

Goodness! Now he’s touching her. Jaai was a good-looking guy. I wonder why he doesn’t have a girlfriend. He was wearing a casual Chinese collar white shirt and blue jeans.

He was slightly shorter than me by about half an inch but taller than Ahana. Since Ahana looked a bit short next to him even while he was sitting.

I don’t even like his hairstyle. I believe mine is better than his. I admit he has a good personality, but it can’t be as amazing as mine. I’m still confused about what Ahana finds appealing in him. It’s a question that will trouble me until Ahana answers it.

“Ahana, I thought you had a lot of work to do. But if I had known that you were having fun with your friend, cracking jokes, then I wouldn’t have disturbed you.”

I said as I entered the room. They both seemed a bit surprised now.

“Ansh, this is how you behave? We were discussing work.”

“Yeah, I saw that. When I have papers that need your signature, tell me what kind of work you were discussing.”

“Ansh…” Jaai said.

“You better stay out of this. It’s between us,” I said, interrupting him. “Ansh… enough. We work here. If we laugh at something, it’s not your concern. Stop causing a scene every time. Jaai, please leave. I’ll see you in the evening. Remember we have an appointment?”

“Yeah, I do. Take care. Bye, buddy. Chill,” he said, tapping me on the shoulder.

What? Was he telling me to relax?

“Ahana, I don’t want him anywhere near you. I hope you understand this clearly. Sign these,” I said, about to leave when she called me again.

“Wait… You need to understand one thing. Jaai is my business partner. He can come here whenever he wants. It shouldn’t matter to you.”

I grunted and left. And what appointment were they talking about? Were they going on a dinner date or a movie date? I need to find out.

AHANA’S POV
I really had an exhausting day. I was grateful that Ansh fed me.

When I woke up, he was nowhere to be seen.

I went to the study and saw him sleeping there on the couch. His laptop was also switched on.

My workaholic husband. Ansh is really attached to his study. I had a shower and prepared coffee.

I placed it near Ansh and greeted Dad and Grandad before leaving for the office.
I had a meeting with Jaai regarding the sales of our telecommunications products.

It went well, and then we were just talking about sports when Ansh entered and caused a scene. Why does he always do that? I don’t understand.

I don’t know what problem he has with Jaai. Whenever he sees him, his behavior changes.

I’m not sure when he will understand that there is nothing between us. Anyway, I like that jealous Ansh.

But I have learned to ignore him now. We have been married for 9 and a half months, and there’s still no improvement in our condition. It’s going from bad to worse.

I had an appointment with Dr. Mrs. Bhatt, a weekly check-up.

Jaai said he was going to accompany me to the doctor, as he always does. He was really excited about the baby. I knew Ansh wouldn’t be interested in what is happening to me, and I don’t care. It’s good that I have Jaai with me.

Otherwise, I don’t think I would have survived. I didn’t see Ansh the entire day. He had a lot of meetings piled up.

At around 6, I left with Jaai for the hospital. I asked my driver to drive my car home since Jaai would drop me.

The check-up went well. The doctor said that I’ll need to rest a lot. I’ll have to sleep on time and eat proper food. Skipping meals will not be tolerated. I nodded obediently.

I always used to wait for Ansh to return home before sleeping, but now I’ll have to stop that practice since my baby is very important to me.

Jaai dropped me home and left. We had a chocolate pastry, my favorite. When I entered the house, it was already 9, and the sight I saw surprised me. I was more in a state of awe.

Ansh, Dad, and Grandad were sitting in the living room watching TV, enjoying Football Fever. Boys… I was surrounded by them.

“Hey! Ahana…”
“Hi… Dad…” I said, a bit surprised. I had never seen all of them like this. And Ansh is never home this early, never.
