“I told you guys ,that girl will bring nothing but trouble but you guys thought I was joking and being jealous , now you see , Jackie said immediately she walked into the kitchen.
Everyone was in shock as to why Mrs Damien would slap her own son for an outsider ,she had never raised her hands on him ,but today she broke the record.
“This is so surprising , how did things get like this , Mrs Damien loves Jerald so much but today it showed she loves Ariel more ,Rosa stated .
“He deserved it , Jon fired at them both.
“Shut it Jon ,no one asked for your opinion , Jackie chipped in.
“And I wasn’t talking to any of you ,he deserved it and more because he was insulting the poor girl,she did nothing to him to warrant such insult and painful memories,Jon replied.
“Now that’s where you are wrong , Ariel is trying to take his position in his mother’s life ,here take a look at this , Jackie said bringing out her phone showing pictures of Mrs Damien in every building she had transferred into Ariel’s name.
“This doesn’t mean a thing ,with this past months that I have been with Ariel ,I have come to know that Ariel isn’t after luxuries but love ,it’s being the only thing she ever wanted and nothing else and I can feel it too.
So what ever he said back there was rude and too much for her to handle ,if you ask me what should be done to him ,then it would be a serious beating that would put him in his place , Jon said her mind as she dished out her food and walked out of the kitchen .
“Maybe she is right ,you know Ariel is a really sweet and nice girl ,I just don’t get why a rift is being caused by her , sometimes misunderstanding destroys relationships , maybe Mrs Damien just needs to talk to Jerald about it,Rosa assumed.
“Really ,Gosh ! ,You guys are the worst , Jackie said and walked out angrily,she so much hates Jon’s guts,she always has a way of convincing people and making Jackie look bad .
*I need to get rid of her before she destroys my reputation and chances *, Jackie thought worriedly to her self,Jon was a big time treat , and now she had the perfect plan to get rid of her.

THE NEXT DAY ?….
Ken visited the doctor ,to get the DNA results to clear his doubt ,he needed to know if that girl was his daughter or not ,she looked like Kathrine but had sky blue eyes,the same as his mother’s.
Karen also had sky blue eyes ,this was just too much to be a coincidence , that’s why he decided to do a DNA test secretly,he didn’t want to give his wife Kim high hopes of them finding their daughter they lost 16 years ago.
“Doctor ,is the result ready , ken asked impatiently ,he needed to know as soon as possible ,so that he could bring his daughter home and then they could leave the city before the enemy strikes.
“Yes it’s ready ,I will get them immediately ,the doctor said , stood up and left into his inner office to get the papers.
He came out minutes later and gave the document to ken who in turn took it immediately going through it ,his face fell sadly as he glaced through it ,it was negative which meant Ariel wasn’t his daughter .
“Was there any mixup doctor , please you can re_do another one right now I would wait,his soul wasn’t accepting what was written in that paper.
“Am sorry ,Mr Dele Rosa ,but I don’t have much time to run another test I am very busy , and there was no mistake ,the girl in question doesn’t match any of the samples you gave me ,she is clearly not your daughter ,the doctor said.
“It’s fine ,I will take my leave now,ken said as he stood trying to contain his tears ,it was just too painful to have high hopes and then it crashes within seconds .
He got into his car and drove straight to a bar ,he couldn’t return home now ,he needed to pour out his sorrow first ,then he would head home .
Ken drank himself to stupor ,he couldn’t leave the bar because of how drunk he was ,the bartender was getting worried as to why he had arrived since morning and it was now late in the night and he didn’t want to leave .
The bartender walked towards him took his phone from his pocket ,he searched through it and saw a number saved with ‘my heart beat ‘,then he assumed it to be his wife,he quickly dailed it ,it rang for a second before it was finally picked up , the person must have been expecting his call since.
? Hello , Good evening ,this is a staff from Drink Up bar , your husband is drunk and it doesn’t seem like he is going to be able to drive himself home ,the bartender said.
?Oh my goodness ,thank you so much for calling I will be right there ,Kim answered immediately,she had been so worried about ken ,he wasn’t at work today , she was informed by his staffs .
? Okay ma’am ,we will be expecting you ,the bartender said before he hang up and placed the phone back into ken’s pocket.

An hour later Kimberly arrived at the bar ,she was devastated to see ken in such state ,ken doesn’t drink or else he is bothered about something ,she will surely find out but for now she needed to take him home .
With the help of the bartender ,ken was placed in the car , Kimberly thanked the bartender before she left with ken taking him back home , Kathrine would be in bed by now ,she doesn’t want her to see her father in such state ,soon they got home , Kimberly took ken upstairs as she changed his clothes he began to cry muttering things to himself .
“Ken what are you saying ,Kim asked worried , seeing him cry meant something was wrong.
“I am… sorry …. for not…. being able….to find …. Karen ….after all ….these years ….I am a …. failure , Ken said belching at every interval.
Kimberly began to cry silently ,it wasn’t his fault that any of those things happened ,yet he took all the pain and now he drank him self to stupor .
“You are not a failure Ken, you are the best ,we tried our best to find Karen , it’s not your fault ,we will surely find her , I have a feeling she is still alive ,Kim said as She hugged her husband cleaning her tears .
Kathrine stood by the door listening to their conversation,who was this Karen they always talk about maybe she had a lost sister ,she prayed silently for her parents to find this Karen they talk about ,how she wish it was Ariel but that’s beyond impossible .

ONE WEEK LATER ……
Days passed ,one whole week the family had been divided , Mrs Damien still angry at Jerald stayed clear from him as she only focused on work and Ariel ,she gave him non of her time to teach him a lesson , although she was hurting really bad but it was a step she was willing to take, maybe Jerald might finally consider her happiness by accepting Ariel.
Ariel on the other hand tried day and night to make Jerald accept her but all she got was insults ,he blamed her for every single problem head ,but she was determined she knew Mrs Damien was sad that the both of them were not close like she had expected ,she felt like an ingrate because the woman who picked her from the streets and changed her life wasn’t happy, it was worse than t®rture.
Kathrine had visited during the week and asked Ariel about everything ,but Ariel couldn’t bring herself to tell her anything that was happening ,so she lied instead if things don’t get better then she surely is going to open up.

(Good day everyone, there has been some misunderstanding of the story. Jerald is Mrs Damien’s biological son, he was not adopted or picked up from the street. He was the product of the rappe issue she had encountered. The mistake was from this particular sentence *foster children*, it was supposed to be *foster siblings*. Sorry for the mistake.)
