Episode 54

After a while, we arrived home, and by that time, I was already on my last candy.

We got out of the car at the same time, and he went straight to the booth to get the items we bought.

“Please, I need a massage. Hurry up and come inside,” I said tiredly as I approached the house, my hands on my waist.

I didn’t even bother helping him with any of the items.

“Yeah, a massage with a good touch. You can count on me,” he replied from behind, and I laughed.

I had reached the payment and was about opening the door when I suddenly heard him groan.

“Urgh!”

I turned swiftly and saw a short arrow in his neck.

What?

“Zosar?” I called and widened my eyes in shock, and he fell on his knees.

Immediately, six boys popped out from nowhere and released another arrow at him.

Oh my God! They were the palace guards!

No.

I flinched as Zosar fell on the floor and passed out after the arrows turned red.

Oh my God!

No!

Please, no!

How did they find out?

“Zosar!” I screamed in fright and recoiled back in fear as the guards approached me.

“No! Please, stay away. Please,” I cried, but they reached where I was and covered a napkin over my nose.

“No!?” I struggled in a muffled breath as they held my hands, and soon, I blacked out.

Zoey’s Perspective:

I opened my eyes and found myself lying on a cold floor.

I scratched my head and sat up, placing my hand on my waist.

What??

I was locked up! In a cell!!!

I gasped and quickly stood up.

Oh my goodness! I can’t believe I’m back here as a prisoner.

Zosar… where is he? Where could he possibly be??

Oh God! How do I escape from here?

I held onto the bars of the cell and saw a guard standing nearby.

“Hey,” I called out and shook the bars.
“Hey, please help me. Why am I locked up?”

He simply turned and gave me a cold stare, ignoring my plea.

Oh God! Have I become a prisoner or something?

I held my waist and sat back on the floor, feeling tired and weak.
My feet couldn’t support me any longer.

Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my abdomen, similar to menstrual cramps.

Oh! Please, don’t tell me it’s what I’m thinking.

It can’t be happening now.

Zosar’s Perspective:

I felt a cold hand rubbing my face.

I slowly opened my eyes and saw my mother’s face, looking into my eyes.

I raised an eyebrow at her and realized I was sitting on her legs.

“Zosar,” her face lit up.

I lifted my head from her legs and tried to move, but I discovered my hands were chained.

What?

I was still on my feet, but I couldn’t move, and my mother stood up as well.

“Zosar…” she called softly.

“Mother?” I scoffed and looked around.

I was in the palace! How did I end up here?

Where’s Zoey?

“Where is she?” I looked at my mother and asked.
“Where’s Zoey? And why am I here?”

She sniffled and tried to touch my face, but I resisted.

“I’ve missed you,” she said in a gentle tone.
“I still can’t believe you would leave me behind.”

I blinked and stared at the floor.

“I’m sorry, mother. But you and father pushed me to my limits. What did you expect?” I said with a hint of guilt.

“Please, where’s Zoey? Where have you taken her?”

She came closer and held my cheeks.

“Please, Zosar, I want you to do as your father demands. I can’t bear to lose you, please,” she pleaded, making me wonder what she meant.

What is she talking about?
