An hour later, I went home to make breakfast for Davey.
I was really worried.
What happened that night?
Who attacked him? Is he telling the truth?
I could tell he didn’t just kill they man for nothing.
Even as I thought about it, it made me shudder.
Davey… Killing someone??
Oh my God. This is serious.
I was still trying to put things together in the kitchen when Jess bursted into the kitchen.
“Don’t tell me it’s true… What I heard!” She said and gasped as I nodded.
” Where is my brother? Jess had started weeping.
I walked to her and placed my hand on her shoulder. “This is not the time to cry, Jess. We really need to help Davey. He.. needs us now. ” I said soothingly.
” Do you think he killed him because of his condition? You think he became violent on the road? ” Jess asked and I shook my head.
” He killed him because he was provoked extremely. They attacked him first. ” I insisted and Jess smiled.
” Thank you Marianne. Please don’t leave my brother.” Jess said and I smiled.
The kitchen door opened quietly again and Tess came in slowly.
We both glared at her as she stood by the door. “Is it true?” She asked, crossing her arms.
“And what really do you care, hun? I thought you became the black sheep of the family! ” Jess bursted out at her sister and that got me seriously surprised.
What’s wrong with them?
“Keep the hell shut, Jess! How dare you speak to me in that manner!! ” Tess yelled back and Jess scoffed.
” Oh yeah? Who are you? The last time I checked, You’re my twin! So, who exactly are you fucking claiming to be! ” Jess yelled back and I gasped.
What happened to these two?
The last time I saw them together, they were best of friends and so sweet.
“Girls. Are you alright?” I asked stupidly.
“Of course we are not alright and I don’t fucking care. Tell me Marianne, which hospital was my brother taken to? “, Tess asked and I told her.
Furiously, she turned and walked out of the kitchen.
Jess sighed and sat down, looking so sad.
“What happened?”, I whispered.
“She’s a thief. ” Jess merely said.
” A thief? What did she steal??”
“My boyfriend… Well… Maybe not really my boyfriend but I was gonna go out with him when I found out Tess impersonated me just to sleep with him!” Jess said and I opened my mouth wide.
” What?”
” Yeah. That’s what she did. I’m never gonna forgive that bitch.” Jess said angrily and I shook my head.
” Don’t call her a bch.” I cautioned.
Moments later, I boiled some water and stored it inside a flask then gathered up some beverages and put them all in a bag.
Together,Jess and I left the house and headed back to the hospital.

I sat next to Davey on his hospital bed as he narrated what happened.
“They were all putting on masks and I couldn’t recognize them.
Well,I think one was familiar. I kicked him on his jaw and I’m sure I cut him pretty bad before he ran off when I was strangling the other guy.” Davey said and I breathed in.
” Why can’t they believe you! You are the victim here??” I rasped.
There were two police men guarding the door and I wondered why.
Mom came in looking at David. “How are you feeling?”
“Come on mom,I’m not crazy!!”Davey thundered and I moved back, startled.
Davey sighed. ” I’m sorry I frightened you. Don’t you guys believe me? ”
” We do. “Mom replied and sniffed. ” She shouldn’t have died. All these started happening ever since that incidence. It turned you into something else and now…. They think you are crazy. They had to put you here… Under lock! “Mom wept and I sighed.
” Mom stop or else you want me to join you.” I said and just then the door open and Marianne stepped in with Jess.
I looked away angrily. Must she be here!!
Marianne rushed towards Davey and hugged him tight. “I brought you something to eat. Please cheer up for me.” Marianne said sweetly and Davey smiled for the first time and I felt his muscles unclenching.
It feels so strange…. Why is she the only one who’s able to calm Davey down??
I looked up and saw Jess staring at me. “I don’t like it when people stare!” I barked at her and mom glanced at me.
“Wait. Are you two having issues? I’ve noticed that you girls don’t talk much or go to work anymore. What’s going on?” Mom asked and I scoffed.
I stood up. ” I’m gonna check on you later Davey. See you later Marianne. Please don’t leave Davey’s side. Mom…. I will speak to you later. ” With that, I left the room and walked outside.
Not knowing exactly where to go, I decided to visit Robert.
We’ve been in touch ever since he found out about me and I guess I succeeded.
I got to his apartment minutes later and found the door open.
I walked in and saw the living room empty.
He must be in the bedroom. I thought and headed straight to the bedroom.
I opened the door and saw him sitting in front of the mirror, cleaning a wound.
It was a terrible cut on his jaw.
“Oh my God!” I gasped and ran straight to him, checking the wound. It was a serious one and also bl©©dy.
“What happened!” I asked but he only looked away.
” It’s nothing. Just get me new bandages.” He said gruffly.
I was about standing up when my eyes caught something on the floor beside the bed.
I gasped as soon as I saw them.
Masks??
Three masks on the floor… Bl©©d stained….
I moved back, shaking my head.
Oh my God… No way!
I gasped again, remembering what Davey told me.
They were putting on masks.
He had said he gave one of them a kick in the jaw.
And now Robert has a deep cut in his jaw.
Christ…. No… I can’t believe it.
No, it can’t be.
Even as I doubted it,the truth was staring at me straight in the face.
Robert was the one who attacked my brother!
How?? Why??
