Episode 24

Rissa’s pov:
“Don’t be ridiculous, Rissa. Why should I fire one of the best doctors at the hospital?” Mom asked sounding amused.
I sighed paced around the room for a second.
“Did she do anything bad?” Mom’s voice again and I bit my lower lip.
I can’t possibly tell mom what really happened. She’d think I’m jealous or something which I’m clearly not.
“Not really. She’s just flirting around” I blurted.
“What??!! Flirting around with who??”.
G©sh! I’m so inexperienced.
“No one In particular. She’s just being too nice and smiles too much. God! She’s annoying mom” I peeved and she chuckled.
I rolled my eyes like she could actually see me.
“It’s not funny, mom. I want her gone” I bickered and she laughed again.
“Oops! The board of directors are here. I’ll speak to you later, sweetheart” She said and disconnected the call.
I sat on the bed pondering over what I had seen in Mykel’s bedroom.
Were they really kssing???
I got up and left the room. Mykel’s door was open and the doctor was stepping out.
“Rissa! I thought you left for school” She said smiling broadly.
Really? Like it’s her business!
“Oh…I forgot something so I had to come back” I replied faking a smile.
“Well, i think you should get going. It’s late already” She chipped staring at her wrist watch.
“I know” I muttered and walked past her into the room.
Mykel was sitting on the chair next to his desk. He was scribbling down something in his notebook.
I sighed and sat leaned against the desk.
He looked up immediately and relaxed back on his chair.
“What do you want?” He asked coldly dropping his pen on the book.
“What did the doctor say about your head? Are you going to go crazy?” I asked with my eyes widened.
He looked into my face and chuckled.
“You really want me to go crazy, huh?” He asked getting up from the chair.
I smirked.
I thought he was angry earlier.
Such a pretender…
“Not really but If you eventually do, I’ll be more than glad to throw the chains on you” I said and shrugged my shoulders.
“I should have let those thieves deal with you” He muttered.
I gasped.
“And what makes you think something bad could have happened to us if you weren’t there??” I groused and folded my arms.
“Nothing. Nothing at all” He cooed.
“Are you really going to school today? You can’t stay home and take care of me??” He asked mutely.
“Incase you don’t know, that’s why the doctor is here” I chided and walked out of the room.
I’m sure the first period is over.
And i didn’t even get the textbook.
I hurried back to my bedroom and picked it from where I had dropped it.
Then, I rushed downstairs.
Selena’s p.o.v
I felt so embarrassed as I helped the chefs fix breakfast for Mykel.
I couldn’t stop thinking about what happened earlier In his room.
I actually kssed him without warning.
He seemed so mad at first – like he would kill me that instant.
I couldn’t stop apologizing.
Gosh!! I knew having feelings for him was a bad idea but I still felt it was good.
He’s just so calm and gentle.
Exactly what I want in a man.
My ex boyfriend had this qualities but he seemed to be hot tempered sometimes.
We had to break up because he couldn’t control his anger to the extent that he almost hit me.
I won’t try it again, I won’t kiss Mykel again.
I’ll make efforts to get rid of the feelings.
He’s way to young for me though.
Rissa’s p.o.v
The whole school kept talking about Lucas’s birthday. Normally, everyone would have been sharing invites to his party by now.
But since he wasn’t hosting one, gossips and rumors kept popping up everywhere.
Some said he spent all his birthday money on girls, so he can’t host a party.
Others claim he’s having a secret party and only special and few people get to attend.
Whatever the reason was, I cared less.
I still had to face Alex and Zoe who seemed pretty disappointed in me after yesterday’s discovery.
“We are best friends. And we talked about Mykel all the time, why didn’t you say something. It wasn’t going to kill you” Alex scowled.
“Come on girls, let’s forget about this. Mykel already explained to you guys, didn’t he? He doesn’t want people to know much about him since that’s why he kept it sealed” I stated feeling agitated at the moment.
“Fine. We’ll drop the topic once you promise to take videos of Mykel doing random things around the house” She said cheekily.
I sighed.
Unbelievable!
“How long is he going to be staying at your house?” Zoe asked distractedly.
“I don’t know. A couple of months” I twitched and Alex screamed.
“This is going to be an awesome year after all” She snickered.
I rolled my eyes and sipped the juice in the cup I was holding.
“So, have you and Lucas been talking?” Zoe asked and I grimaced.
“Please, let’s not talk about him” I whispered and they chuckled.

Lunch time was over and the hallway was empty. There was no one around and i walked through holding onto my phone.
I had just gone to see the biology teacher concerning my project. He had passed out projects to everyone In class except me. I was not in school that day thanks to Mykel.
I stopped walking when I noticed the door to the auditorium was open.
That’s strange. It’s always locked immediately after morning gatherings.
I tip toed into the wide spaced hall and met It empty.
I suddenly heard the sound of a piano playing at the other end.
It was so melodious and more like that ones being played during our gymnastic classes.
I finally got closer and my heart skipped on seeing Lucas before the piano touching on the keys like it was plane air.
He played really well and I stood fixed for a minute.
He glanced at me and stopped playing.
The whole auditorium was dead quiet now.
“I don’t see you wearing the necklace” He said not maintaining an eye contact.
“I gave it to Zoe…she likes it” I muttered getting uncomfortable.
I should have just went ahead to class.
“Happy birthday Lucas” I said and perked my lips.
“Thanks for reminding me” He replied wryly.
“What are your plans for today?” I asked licking my lips.
“I wanted to go around in my car. Would you like to come with me?” He asked getting up from the seat.
I would say no but then, today’s his birthday for peace sake.
I don’t want to make him sad.
“Alright fine” I replied and he took my hand.
Hold on…He’s not really gonna celebrate his birthday in a grand way like he always does…?
What happened this year??
