Episode 29

Mykel’s pov:
I walked out of the class with Austin and his new friend, Merlin following me. We were through with the extremely easy exam and result will be out next week.
I’m sure we all made it.
The last thing I’d need now is moving to another school and starting all over to get familiar with the place.
“I really love what Mr Barnes is doing! He’s so cool and still wears glasses. You should see him operate the computer. His fingers move like lightening and thunder” Austin blurted.
“Yeah…I’m pretty sure if he actually worked like that on the computer, it would have exploded” Merlin chipped with a scoff.
He tied a red handkie around his head and had more of a bad boyish vibe.
The way he folded his black leather jacket and all. I’m sure he feels like his the baddest kid around. He should visit a juvenile center sometime, that’s were the real m©nsters are.
“I know! I just don’t know how to express it, guys. Hacking is just too awesome!” Austin exclaimed.
I scoffed.
“You better keep it down, Aus. You never know who’s listening” I remarked and he nodded bashfully.
“Oh, what are you being scared for?? I will burst anyone who tries to mess us up! I can destroy them all no matter the number” Merlin boasted clenching his fists.
I rolled my eyes like Rissa would and turned to Austin.
“Where did you meet this guy?” I asked and he laughed.
“Don’t think I’m weak, Asian boy! You’ve not seen me fight. I can put you in a hospital” He blabbed ludicrously.
I glanced at Austin again and he chuckled.
“I was bored since you weren’t in school. I needed someone to keep the bullies off” He said like he read my mind.
“It’s like you want a piece of me…don’t you??” Merlin mumbled and stood in my way. He raised his hands like he wanted to punch me.
I ignored him and walked past.
He rushed to stand before me.
I held his right wrist and twisted his hand.
He seethed his teeth and tried to free his hand.
“Asian! You’re gonna hurt me” He growled.
“My name’s not ‘Asian’, it’s Mykel” I corrected still squeezing his hand.
“I’m sorry, Mykel. Please!! You’re gonna rip my hand off!!!” He panicked.
I sighed and released his him. He dropped on the floor but got up immediately.
He held onto his hurting arm.
Oops, I shouldn’t have squeezed it too hard.
“Dude” Austin muttered and I glanced at him.
“What’s wrong?”.
He came close and gently raised my shirt displaying the tattoo. I covered it instantly and he gradually wore off the alarmed look on his face.
“How did your parents let you get that?” He asked breathlessly.
I looked around to make sure their was no one around the compound.
The other students are still in classes for morning classes.
“My parents are dead” I replied and their jaws dropped.
“Whoa…! I didn’t know. I’m so sorry about that Mykel”.
“It’s alright” I replied with a faux smile.
“G©sh! My arm still hurts!!!” Merlin cried and I winced.
“I apologize for that, Merl” I cooed and he forced a smile.
“I want to be your friend, bro. I just like you” He added and Austin gasped.
“Are you gay?” He asked and Merlin picked up a stick.
“What did you just say?!” He yelled and started chasing Austin who was already running.
I chuckled and caught up with them.
“Before you kill him, I need to ask you about Rissa. Are you sure she’s dating the president’s son?” I asked mutely.
“I’m not sure but I saw her leave with him in his car. Something must be off…God! I was just about to ask her out—”
“You what???” I asked and he stepped backwards.
“Nothing. I’m just joking. Yeish…” He said hysterically.
(Lunch Time)
The boys and I hanged around a huge tree which provided enough shade for everyone at a part of the garden.
Merlin and Austin are the craziest people I’ve ever met – apart from Rissa, of course!
They both have different energy and flow together. I’d rather spend the whole week with them than Rissa. But I don’t think I should compare a male to a female.
I caught a glimpse of a girl walking towards us. The first thing that got me staring was the short skirt she’s putting on. How can this school allow this??!
“Good afternoon, Mykel. I’m the girl that called you few days ago. I just wanted to know if you need help with anything. I’ll do anything!…” She stated sounding a bit desperate.
G©sh! How do I handle this girl?
I looked past her and spotted Rissa sitting alone on a bench.
Where are her annoying friends???
Hmm, I think I just got a crazy idea.
I took the girl’s hand and pulled her close.
She was practically shaking as I held her.
I hope she doesn’t faint.
Rissa’s eyelids flickered up and our eyes locked.
She couldn’t look away….
That’s nice. She must be jealous like h’ll right now.
She suddenly brought out her phone and took a picture.
What the he¢k!!!
What did she just do?…
I thought she was carried away…?
