……Rissa’s pov……

He shook his head slowly like he was about to drop a bad news concerning Mykel.

“Well…unfortunately, i can’t disclose what’s wrong with him. He’s really in a bad condition and we are yet to get through with him” He replied and I sucked in some air.

He’ll be fine, I’m sure.

“Although, I fear he won’t make it, my dear” He added and my eyes flared in astonishment.

“Why do you say such??” I rasped as my ears perked up.

“He’s loosing his breath. There’s no doubt he’s gonna give up soon. And there’s nothing we can do about it. We’ll just have to accept that the bullet tore him in half..” He informed and mom gasped.

I slumped ruefully back on the bench hearing mom sob quietly. I was thrown speechless with what we had just uncovered about his health.

He really wants to leave me, doesn’t he?

I’ve pleaded with him. Even my lips got tired but my heart never stopped aching for his presence.

“Please, Mr and Mrs Edward, follow me to my office” He said to mom and dad and started walking away.

“Rissa? Are you gonna be okay?” Mom asked soberly and I pulled my head to nod twice.

They slowly trailed after the Korean doctor as he left.

Things stopped moving. Even my breath too.

It was like the universe was taking a break for sick Mykel. They’re silently hoping that he makes it all alive because if he doesn’t, then I’m nothing as well. I’ll also die lying next to him. He’s just everything I want.

…..Leah’s pov……….

“So, doctor. Is there something you’re not telling us about Mykel?” Edward asked worriedly and the doctor sighed taking off his glasses.

“First of all, you must assure me that you’ll both rub minds together and be as mature as possible about this. You’ll also keep this details away from your daughter standing right outside the lobby” He began with.

Edward and I exchanged glances and he gave me a reassuring look.

“Fine, doctor. Just go ahead with the main reason you called us here” I blunted.

“Well, it’s about Mykel. He has been revived and the bullet successfully removed from his body. He’s currently been bandaged but he asked me for one simple request. That I don’t tell your daughter about his recovery. He said he can no longer be that person she can love. He have done lots of things he can never correct so she must learn to live without him and find somebody else. He asks the both of you to take her back to America and make her forget about him with the memoir that he’s dead. Can you do this for him?”….

“My daughter will be crushed even more. Does he think moving on is as easy as it sounds???” I bickered.

“Please, ma’am. You can take out your anger on him later. Right now, I have things to do, if you’ll both excuse me” He concluded and drew up from his chair.

I sighed and rubbed my forehead.

This isn’t fair!. Rissa has gone through so much and Mykel leaving her right now is going to cause her to do stupid things.

Well…he says it’s for the best!

“What do you think we should do? We need to return back to America as soon as possible. It’s the best thing to do right now” Edward spoke softly and I sighed.

“Alright, fine. We’ll tell Rissa that Mykel didn’t make it. So she’d leave with us because I’m sure she won’t accept so easily” I figured correctly before we got up from the chairs.

“Whatever we are doing right now is what’s best for Rissa. She needs to find herself again” I muttered proceeding towards the door of the office.

When we got to the lobby, Rissa was sitting pathetically on the bare floor sobbing.

“I can’t tell her this, you go ahead. I can’t bare to see her in more pains” I whispered and he went passed me.

Rissa got up upon seeing us and say gently on the bench.

“I’m sorry, Rissa. But he didn’t make it” Edward said emotionlessly.

“No!!!” Her silent tears roared up immediately and she began crying sorrowfully.

I sniffed going close to console her but she virtually pushed me away.

“He’s not dead, mom. Take me to him….I’ll wake him up” She wavered mutely looking at the floor.

“Oh, my dear!” I mumbled and pulled her into a hug.

“I want to see him, mom” She further pressed and my heart throbbed.

Rissa can’t see him. She’ll find out we lied thereby making things more complicated than it already is.
I gently wiped her tears as her throat was thickened with sobs.

……. Rissa’s pov……
Sorrow closed up my throat and my vision was very blur as I took sometime to mourn Mykel.

I wish he would just step out of the room and take me away from here. I just miss him so much. I was just too hard on him and couldn’t understand what he was going through.

“We need to get going, dear. You need to get some rest for our flight tomorrow—-”

“No, mom! I’m not going anywhere. I’m gonna stay here till Mykel leaves. I must see his body before I go because I just can’t believe that he’s dead. I…I need to see him first!” I persistently said as pain gripped my chest.

She glanced at dad and remained quiet.
A nurse showed up at the other end of the hallway pushing a cart containing some items.

She greeted mom and dad before going into room Mykel was in. I couldn’t stop crying about the news. I just wanted a happy, normal life. Is that too much to ask??

And that was when it struck me! The nurse had taken somethings into the room. Why would she take in something when the patient Is dead?? Rather, they should be moving out with him. Something’s not right, here”. I sprang up to my feet and rushed into the room right before mom and dad could realize what was going on.

A nurse stopped me immediately.

“Jima! Geuman!!” *Don’t! Stop!!* She yelled holding me back.
“you can’t be here!”.

I struggled with her and quickly looked towards the bed.

Mykel. He’s alive!!!
