THE CUTE KOREAN EX CONVICT: Episode 61 – The End

Episode 69

……..Rissa’s pov…….

My Mykel is alive. He was awake, weak eyes by at least he was breathing and all bandaged.
A tear slid from my cheek as he dropped his head sideways to we my face.

I skimmed past the nurse and ran to him. With trembling arms and wobbly knees. I held his hand pathetically staring at him.

“They told me you wouldn’t make it and that you had given up. I knew it’s not possible…” I said exuberantly.

He stared at me blankly like he couldn’t understand what I had been saying.

“Why are you looking at me like that? Have you lost your memory??” I asked wide eyed and he chuckled.

“Rissa…I was shot on my chest not my head” He winced and I smiled warmly at him.

The three nurses clustered behind me gazing at us. Mom and dad were at the door watching.

They don’t know how happy I feel at the moment.

“You told them to tell me that you were dead, didn’t you?” I asked with a gulp and he nodded slowly.

“I have my reasons – I just don’t want you to suffer more in my hands. I wanted you to move on and find someone accepted by your parents and can treat you better than you deserve. I’m so sorry, Rissa. I messed things up. I know I should have figured out more about my late parents but I still went ahead to do the nasty things I did. And even after all this, I still wanted you just as I did before. I still love you but we can’t keep being together when I almost killed your parents. It won’t be easy…”

“I know, but I don’t care Mykel. I just want you. And they’re happy with that. Do you know how scared and lost I was when I was told you couldn’t make it. I would also end my life and join you wherever you will go” I replied smiling and he sighed.

“So, your parents really forgives me?” He asked and I nodded fervently.

“They sure do. They’re also sorry for letting you stay in jail for three years. I don’t know what they’re true reason was but I think they actually neglected you just like they neglected me. We were both treated badly so later, we’ll prank them for sure after they give us a proper apology” I giggled and he grimaced.

“I’m still in so much pains but I can handle it. Before you go, I will like to let you in on a secret, the real reason I went to jail was because – I robbed my foster mother. I took all of her jewelries and valuables, sold them all just to save up to go back to Korea. I was missing home. I thought that when I arrived at Korea, my house would be right there with the maids, my dog and the housekeeper. Everything would be there but unfortunately, I got jail” He narrated wearing a reassuring smile.

“That’s great. I actually thought you killed someone and that’s the reason you were put behind bars. You’re not that bad after all, Mykel” I remarked and he scoffed.

“I’ll let you be the judge of that” He smirked and I laughed while giving him a half hug in order not to hurt his wound.
He’s so strong! To be shot and still be alive.
I’m proud of him!
