“Drink” he ordered.
I took the bowl as my hands trembled terribly.
“Don’t” someone said as he came flying down from the cieling and was wearing a mask.
I gasped in shock and the bowl fell of my hands.
The state perspector stood up angrily.
“How dare you?” He thundered and glared at the masked man.
Instead of replying me, the masked man took my hands and before the state perspector could react, we disappeared.
I found myself in a room with the masked man.
He removed his mask and l stared at the handsome young man in front of me.
Why did he save me?
“Thanks ….fo..r. sa…ving… me” l stuttered.
He kept staring at me and said nothing.
“I want to go to school” l said staring at the floor.
“You can’t” he said simply.
“I have to, have been absent for a day already l rather bear the punishment of going late being absent the second time.
“You can’t leave Maya, the state perspector can only find you when you are outside this place, for now here is the safest place for you.”
“Who are you?” How come you know my name?”
“Come meet someone” he said and started walking away,l followed behind him quickly.
We got to another room and l could feel her presence already.
My twin is here.
Skylar is here! I jubilated.
“Don’t be too excited, seeing is believing.”
“Huh! How did he know what l was thinking?”
“Your thoughts are too loud” he said with a long hiss.
He opened the door to the room and l saw Skylar, a girl l assume to be a maid was making her hair.
“Maya!” She squealed and ran to hug me,the maid left us immedaitely.
We embraced each other tightly and cried.
“Did he do anything to you, l miss you so much” Skylar kept saying as we hugged each other tightly.
The handsome guy turned and made to walk away.
“Wait” Skylar called and ran to embrace him.
“Thank you Dreyfus, for saving my sister” she said.
He stiffened and didn’t reciprocate but nodded anyway.
Skylar pulled away and came to meet me.
“How is uncle doing?”
“He isn’t fine Skylar, all we know how to do is to make him worry, for some days now he hasn’t eaten because of Clarissa.”
“That’s why l need to go back home, we can’t leave him alone, Clarissa is no where to be found and you gone missing too, how will he feel when l don’t return home and besides who is gonna do how chores” Maya said.
“Ever since you guys left, have been the one doing all the chores and the head maid gives me a hard time too.”
“Am so sorry Maya, but what can we do?”
“The prime minister is going to throw us out for sure for negligence of duty” Skylar said.
“What should we do? What happened to Clarissa?”
“She went to the treasure hunt and hasn’t returned” Maya said.
“My goodness! I hope nothing bad happens to her” Skylar said worriedly.
“Am scared Skylar, Clarissa is the reason we are not leaving a peaceful life, she always gets us in trouble.”
“Stop talking trash, what are you even saying? We are sisters and should pass through difficulties together, don’t forget what uncle taught us, no matter what,we must not be against each other” Skylar said.
“But it’s the truth, she is the cause if our problems, she always jumps from one trouble to the other, thereby dragging us with her, what if one day she causes trouble and we all get killed, l hope she doesn’t return” Maya said.
“Maya what are you saying? What has come over you? She will return home safely okay, she is our sister and we should always stick to each other no matter what” Skylar said.
“Am done with that shit! I almost got killed and swore an oath because of her, let her die so we can leave peacefully.”
“Maya! What happened to you? Why are you hating Clary all of a sudden?”
“I don’t hate her, am just saying the truth” l replied but paused as l held sounds.
“Skylar what’s happening?”
“Let’s see, l think two people are fighting” she said and got up immediately and we rushed outside.
Dreyfus and another guy were fighting fiercely.
How can someone be this handsome!
“Who is he?” I asked Skylar.
“The guy fighting with Dreyfus?” She asked.
“Yes” l replied.
“I don’t know” she said.
They kept fighting fiercely and l became scared.
Never in my life have l seen two persons fight so fiercely.
“Dreyfus! stop it” Skylar yelled and tears flowed from her eyes.
“Stop this madness Dreyfus, why are you fighting me? What have l done” the other guy yelled as he threw two heavy stones at him.
“Shut up Lonrenzo” Dreyfus said and a sword appeared in his hand.
“Stop it Dreyfus” Skylar yelled but he didn’t seem to listen.
Why is he fighting so fiercely?
What did that handsome young man do to him.
“Don’t even think about it Dreyfus” the other Lonrenzo guy said as Dreyfus held on to the sword tightly.
“Dreyfus am warning you for the sake of our friendship, don’t use your sword on me” the Lonrenzo guy said.
I watched in awe.
Dreyfus used magic on the sword and went straight to Lonrenzo but before it could Pierce him, it fell on the floor and Dreyfus coughed out blood.
“Dreyfus” l and Skylar called in unison and rushed to help him.
“Don’t” he said and struggled to get up by himself.
“Dreyfus what’s the meaning of this?”
The Lonrenzo guy asked.
“Shut up you bloody ba$tard” Dreyfus spat as he threw a ball of magic but Lonrenzo dodged it quickly.
“Stop” A man said and appeared between them.
I and Skylar shifted back in surprise.
“Master!” Dreyfus and Lonrenzo said in unison and bowed.
What we held next was a thunderous slap.
The master gave the Lonrenzo guy a slap across the face and he spat out blood.
“As for you Dreyfus, am going to punish you for overreacting and breaking my rule, have told you countless apart from me no one else is allowed to touch my student.”
Dreyfus bowed silently.
The master glared at Lonrenzo and gave him another thunderous slap.
“You think l don’t know you broke her first seal and then her second seal.”
“She us with me and today am going yo watch you kill her with your own hands.”
