THIS STIGMA: CHAPTER 1 – THE END
WRITTEN BY MOMOH GIFT
CHAPTER ONE
The sounds of the birds woke me up and those thoughts visited me again.
How I wish I do sleep someday and never have the opportunity to wake up again.
I am really fed up with this life of mine.
So many times I have asked numerous questions why I am totally different from others but no one seems to give me the right answers not even the woman who gave birth to me.
Countless times I had wet my bed all through the night with rivers of my own tears because I still can’t understand why this “creator” whom mother always emphasizes His existence chose to create me this way.
I know a lot of questions are running through your mind right now about what I really mean.
Alright let me tell you about myself.
THIS STIGMA: CHAPTER 1 – THE END
My name is Rita, the only child of Mr and Mrs Raymond.
Well I don’t really know if I truly have a father because I never had the opportunity to meet my dad.
All I keep on hearing everyday from my mum is that I have a dad who is very much alive.
But nobody knows his whereabout.
I was told dad left my mum due to her inability to conceive another child after my birth.
But the most important reason why he left was that mum gave birth to a ‘wtch’.
His own way of describing my physical appearance.
Honestly, I have come to understand that indeed dad might be right after all.
Or how can I explain the fact that I was born without arms and even at the age of four, I still look like a six month old? I was extremely short.
I couldn’t play with my peers then due to my physical appearance.
No one ever wants to have anything to do with me because they felt I am cursed.
Nobody to call my friend. My life was indeed a lonely one.
Oh I can’t forget in a hurry what my classmates did to me the day I first attended school.
To be continued.
