Dylan Langford’s mansion
“I missed you baby bro” Claribel smiled at Harold from the phone screen, she was actually having a video call with him and her grandmother
“But you just started working today!!” Her granny snapped and she laughed
“I know right”
“I miss you more C. Bells” he replied like he would always call her
“I promise, you’ll return back to school next week after I must have received my first pat.. okay” She assured and the cute boy smiled happily from the phone
“Thanks sis” he squealed
“You’re the best sister…..”
“In the whole wide world..” she completed it with him and they both laughed
“I love you”
“I love you too baby bro”
“How’s life over there” Granny Teresa suddenly asked, Claribel sighed, her smiled changed into a frown
“Boss is really so annoying, he’s such a maniac!!!” She screamed as the scene of how he saw her in a short towel replayed in her head
“Clarry..” granny shortened her name as usual
“Huh”
“Try your best to avoid him sacking you.. don’t get him angry, you know how much you’d lived without a job” the old woman said
“Okayy…” She said knowing fully well that it’s totally impossible… She would definitely get into trouble with him.. especially as the clumsy type
“Claribel, please ion wanna hear stories that touches” the granny replied
“I’ve heard you..” She managed to smile
“Byee”
“Bye granny” she smiled blowing kssses
She sighed throwing her phone to the other side of the bed and stood up sliding her feets into one of the flip flops she met in the room.
Andrea wasn’t back from school yet so she went downstairs to the kitchen, meeting Ann doing the dishes
“You really love being here” Claribel said walking in
Ann turned back sighting her.. She smiled
“Maybe I’m addicted already” they both shared a short laugh
“Can I” Claribel said referring to the dishes
“No.. I’m done with it already.. we should cook before boss returns” Ann replied arranging the plates and dried her hand in the napkin afterwards
“That’s true.. you stay here right” she asked.. Ann nodded with a smile
“Yeah.. other workers resumes early and goes home at evening”
Claribel muttered an “ohh”
“Help with the chopping” Ann said passing her a tray containing carrots and other veggies
“Sure”
“Andrea’s mum is in Korea right..?” Claribel suddenly asked, staring at her expecting a quick answer
Ann sighed
“That’s just a lie for the poor girl”
Claribel heaved a sigh
“I suspected” she mumbled slowly
“Then why isn’t she here” She asked to satisfy her curiosity
“She… She died” Ann replied
Claribel gasped instantly, dropping the knife on the tray that it made a loud sound
“Ohh my..!!, how?!” She questioned
“Well, she was poisoned immediately they returned on a couples trip to India after she gave birth.. Andrea was just three months old then” Ann explained
Claribel was stunned
“Who poisoned her..!”
“I don’t know, I was employed here two months after her de.ath to take care of the baby before a Nanny was finally employed eight months later.. but the culprit is unknown and ever since then, boss hasn’t gotten close to any other woman” She explained
“He really must have loved her alot” she picked up the knife slowly continuing with the chopping
“Alot.. he still mourns her till date in her room” Ann said sadly
Claribel shook her head sideways in pity
“No wonder he’s been too uptight” she thought
“That’s why he cherishes Andrea a lot” Ann added and Claribel nodded slowly
“What happened to him after she died” Claribel questioned
“He couldn…..” She was saying when the loud honks of Dylan’s car interrupted
Claribel rushed to peep through the window watching his white limousine drive in…
“He’s back!!” Claribel said widening her eyes
“Quite unusual.. he arrives with his daughter an hour to this time regularly”
“Guess something came up” Ann added
“You should hurry up with the cooking.. I need to go” Claribel said and headed to the door proceeding to leave when she suddenly remembered he hasn’t washed her hands, she ran back to the sink and quickly washed her hands thoroughly, leaving the kitchen without hesitation
She ran out of the building forgetting what happened in the morning on sighting him…
She sighted Andrea as she highlighted from the car and smiled
“Baby..” she ran to her spreading her arms wide
“Nanny…”little Andrea squealed happily
Dylan’s face was wearing a frown upon that made her wonder what really came up as she diverted her gaze to him…
She took one more step and was about to embrace the little girl when she suddenly tripped over something and missed her step
She gasped as she began falling backwards.. she closed her eyes expecting to feel the fall
