Chapter 60

“What if she doesn’t have it anymore” Dylan said as his daughter pulled him to the kitchen

“Let’s just try” Andrea sounded like an adult and they fully entered the kitchen

Lady Ann was baking a strawberry cake for dessert and Andrea smiled.. it’s her favorite

“Boss..?” Ann furrowed her brows in surprise, Dylan only enters the kitchen once in a while so it was really surprising to see him

“Annabelle..” Dylan called her full name

“Just call me Ann” she pouted childishly and Andrea laughed

“Hmm.. Ann, is Claribel’s employment form still in your possession?” Dylan asked and she nodded

“Its in the drawer in my room, why?” Shr asked suspiciously

“Well.. I need her address, there was a space for her contact address right?” He asked and she nodded again

“I think so” she bit her lower lip

“Get me the address as soon as possible” he said and turned to leave with his daughter

Ann smiled knowingly

“Are you planning to visit her?” She asked, Dylan stopped on his tracks and he turned to her, and rolled his eyes

“Do what I asked you to do.. and stop interfering into matters that doesn’t concern you” he said and left, pulling Alex along

Ann jumped up excitingly

“Finally!, he fell for a lady” she smiled broadly, rubbing the locket in her neck.. it had Mariana’s picture in it

“I’m sure you’ll be happy wherever you are” she smiled broadly and quickly ran to the room to check for the papers

Alive Hospitals..

Paisley, Harold and Teresa rushed to the doctor immediately they sighted him coming out of the emergency unit

As expected, he was sweating profusely

“Doctor..!!” Paisley said, staring blankly at him, anticipating for his statement

“Well, the surgery ended already” he said in a professional tune

“How was it!” The trio asked curiously and the doctor heaved a deep sigh like something is wrong

“Talk to us.. how’s she!” Harold snapped anxiously in fear

The doctor suddenly flashed a warm smile

“It was successful though she’s yet to wake up.. It could take up to 36hours though and shee has a 40% chance of not losing her memory or slipping into coma” the doctor said

Paisley breathed in relief and hugged Teresa immediately in gladness

“Thanks so much doctor” Harold smiled happily and the doctor retired into his office without hesitation

“Where’s Claribel” Teresa asked quickly

“She left hurriedly.. she’s not so happy, she really looks depressed and i wonder why” Harold replied

“What could be wrong, she’s been like that ever since she came home and its unusual” Teresa breathed heavily

Paisley swallowed nothing

“Maybe she doesn’t like me..” she mumbled lowly

Later ThatDay..

Granny Teresa’s house..

Dylan parked his car at a corner and looked around wondering why she lives in somewhere like this..he wasn’t too surprised though, not like she was from a rich home

“Dad.. are we there already?” Andrea asked, looking out of the tinted glasses

“Hmm, I think so” Dylan said, reading the description scribbled on the paper

He unlocked the doors and before he could highlight, his eyes widened as he sighted Claribel, coming out of the house with a basket of fruits in her left hand

She was heading to the hospital

“She’s the one!” Alexandrea squealed in smiles as she got down from the car before he could even say a word

“Mum..” Andrea screamed happily as she hugged Claribel tightly from the back

Claribel recognised her voice and scent immediately, but she wondered if she’s truly the one cuz no one knows her address

“Mum” Andrea called again, closing her eyes in smiles.. Dylan bit his lower lip as he watched from the car

Claribel slowly removed Andrea’s grip on her waist

“Andrea..?” She called surprisingly as she turned

“I missed you mum” Andrea jumped into her hands and Claribel scoffed, disengaging from the hug

Andrea scrunched up her face in disappointment

“Aren’t you happy to see me?” She pouted, folding her arms

Claribel ignored her question

“What are you doing here?” She asked expressionlessly.. trying hard to hide her guilt..

“Mum..?” Andrea called again, feeling so confused

“Talk to me!, how did you get here” Claribel said still so surprised.. poor and before she could reply.. Dylan highlighted from the car and slowly took gradual steps to them

Claribel eyes widened as she slowly looked up to see him

“Dylan..?” Her voice came lowly.. In a whisper

Even her mind knows she feels like pulling him into a warm and tight hug but that’s the least she could do right now

“What are you doing here..? How did you find me..?, why did you come..? I thought I made my self clear that you should stay away!” She said fighting back the tears that were threatening to fall

Dylan didn’t know what to say.. he just kept staring with pleading looks

“Dad what’s going on? I thought you said she only went to visit her sick grandmother” Andrea said confusedly

Dylan sighed

“I know but.. ”

Claribel scoffed

“Eish..” she grimaced

“Baby, I am no more your Nanny okay, I’m tired of being used and dribbled like a toy” she said to Andrea and her eyes widened

“What..?! Mum, you can’t do this right!!” She gasped and turned to Dylan

“Tell me it’s not true” she said with teary eyes

Claribel quickly looked away, wiping her stubborn tears without their notice.. she’s only feigning mean looks, deep down she’s hurt, seeing Andrea alone increased the huge burden on her mind

“Alex.. I can explain, just…” Dylan was saying

“Noooo” Andrea screamed unbelievably in tears..

“What have you done to her!”

Claribel tears kept flowing freely and this time she couldn’t hide it.. Dylan walked to her confidently and regardless of what’s she will do, he pulled her forcefully into a tight hug before she could even realize

The basket of fruits fell from her hand and

they scattered on the ground

“Stay away!” Claribel said, trying to push Dylan away with all her strength even though she was really craving for the hug

She struggled to break free but instead he hugged her more tightly and affectionately, without even bothering about Andrea’s presence

He kssed her hair and she sniffed, shutting her eyes.. he whispered into her ears and his fresh breath nuzzled her

“Please come back..”
