Chapter 9
“What’s going on Tae? What’s wrong with you? Arrgh. ” I said to my self and sat down on a couch.
Ara’s pov
I got to the class, and sat down quietly. A teacher entered and began teaching us.
“Ara, are you alright? ” Binnie asked.
“Yes.. Yes am.. Fine ” I stuttered.
She nodded and faced the teacher.
My body feels somehow, what’s wrong with me?
Why do I feel different when I face Tae, he even touched my hair and removed the hair band.
Saying I look good leaving the hair without packing it.
I smiled but it disappeared so soon. G0sh!
Why am I even smiling?
Soo Bin’s pov
Leaving Ara with Tae isn’t a bad idea, but I don’t want his trouble.
And I don’t think that’s a problem cause she’s just smiling all along.
Did he kss her? H*ell no! I know Ara can’t even let him touch her not to talk of kssing her.
Thank God he didn’t suspend us. My mom is gonna send me out of the house.
I just pray my mom haven’t see the video yet. God please.
Fast forward….
Closing Time…..?
I got to the park with Ara, and drove out of the school.
“I can’t believe someone paid my camp fee, I wish to know the person to show my gratitude ” I said, when I remembered what happened in the class today.
I was shocked when I heard my name, the teacher had listed out the whole names for those who have paid.
“Really, am sure you will meet the person one day. ” She answered.
“Yes, how did you pay yours? ”
“My dad gave me the money, that’s all ”
“Hmm… Your dad must have really work hard to get that money ”
“Yeah, Binnie I would like to tell you something but you have to keep it secret ”
“Secret? Of course I will keep it secret ” I answered, curiously waiting for her to say something.
“I will tell you tomorrow ”
“Okay ” She got to my house and stooped.
“I would like to see your parents. Will you? ” She asked and I gulped.
“Of course, but my dad isn’t here ”
“Ohh! Okay ”
She came down from the scooter and walked into the house.
“Mom! ” I called.
“Soo bin come….. ” she stopped when she saw Ara.
Her eyes glittered. “Ara? Oh my God! Is this you? You’ve grown so big. ” She replied and turned to hug her.
“Wow! Mrs Choi, Long time. Where have you been? ” Ara asked.
I was just standing like a statue.
Where did my mom met Ara.
Ara’s pov
Mrs Choi had been a very good mother to me. She and my mom were friends.
One day, we heard her husband had taken all her properties and ran away with it.
Since then, we didn’t see her. Her daughter which happens to be Soo bin now was in London then.
I haven’t seen her before neither have I seen her picture. So I couldn’t recognize her.
Mrs Choi is the second richest person in the whole country after my dad.
What a coincidence!
“Mom, what’s going on here? You guys are confusing me ” Binnie asked, looking confused.
“Binnie, it high time you know who I am now.
The secret I wanted to tell you tomorrow, am gonna say it here ”
“Okay, am eagerly waiting ”
“Fine, am the Kim’s daughter” I explained.
“Kim’s daughter? wait! You mean Mr Kim….” Her voice was shaky.
“Soo Bin calm down, yes she is. She’s Mrs Kim’s daughter. The one I do talk about when you are in London ”
“Oh my goodness! Ara! You never seem to amaze me.
And you pretend like you’re poor ”
“Yeah, but don’t worry about that. I know why I acted that way. ” I replied.
“How’s your dad and mom Ara? ” Mrs Choi asked.
“They are doing well ma. ” I answered.
“And MI ho? ”
“He’s doing good too. I need to be on my way now, my mom will be expecting me ” I said, and took my leave.
Binnie escorted me out, “Ara, you’re such a cr@zy girl. You know that ” Soo bin said, smiling.
“Maybe, there’s one secret I gotta tell you again ”
“You really love having secrets, so tell me ”
“I was the one who paid for your camp fee ”
She gasped, as tears gathered in her eyes.
“I don’t know what to say, thank you Ara ” She said, thankfully.
“No need, I need to be going now. Bye and see you in school tomorrow ” I got on my scooter and drove down the street.
I need to tell mom, I saw Mrs Choi.
I glanced at the uncompleted building again and smiled. Why am I so engrossed in this building?
At home…..
I got inside and saw the new maid dad brought in. She’s really a hardworking woman.
“Good afternoon, my lady ” She greeted, and was trying to collect my school bag but I declined.
“Don’t worry, Please is there any food at home? I feel hungry ” I asked.
“Oh! The sitting room? Have cleaned it this morning. ” She answered and I stared at her.
Is she okay? Perhaps she didn’t heard what I said just now.
“I mean food… I want to eat. Is there any at home? ” I asked again.
“Okay, I will go cut the pepper now. Should I add cabbage? Or you don’t like cabbage? ”
Huh? Someone please help me!
What dad said is true. She has ear problem.
“Don’t worry, am coming downstairs soon ” I said and walked upstairs.
This woman is…… ? don’t even know what to say.
Fast forward….
I walked down stairs, then to the kitchen to prepare something for my self.
I didn’t see any maids around.
Soon, I cooked ramen noodles and chicken and began eating.
Mom walked in with my brother looking…. Their face was expressionless.
“Ara, Who was the woman that almost killed you for me? ” My mom asked.
She must have watched the video.
“She’s the mother to Young hee, the girl I cut his hair ” I explained.
“And she wanted to kill you for that? Though what you did was quite cr@zy.
And Tae didn’t even think twice before suspending the two of them. That boy!”
” Well, mom let leave that aside. I saw Mrs Choi today and her daughter ”
“What?! You saw her? Where? How did you guys meet? Take me there now ” My mom said, looking like she was panicking.
“Mom, calm down. I will take you there on Saturday. ”
“I can’t wait to meet her, it been a long time have seen her. Mr Choi really did a bad thing to her ”
“Mom am hungry! ” MI ho said and ran to the dinning, and ate my ramen.
“Hey! That’s mine! ”
He stuck his tongue out and ran to his room with the food.
Tae’s pov
“We are going to have two contests in the camp. Music contest and dancing contest.” I said looking my brothers one by one.
“Then we will choose the music queen and king, then the dancing queen and king. Do you get that? ” I added.
“Wow! That sounds good. Is it between the juniors or the seniors? ” Rhee asked.
“It going to be among the seniors. Final grade students. ” I answered.
“So are you contesting Seo? ”
“Nope, am not ” He answered.
“I guess, I will contest then ” I said.
“I wish I was in senior class ” Jae replied, looking sad.
“Same here ” Rhee answered too.
I smiled and stood up “That’s all for now, we are going to discuss tomorrow ” I said and walked in to go take a nap.
Soo Bin’s pov
“Am sure Ara would have tell her mom she saw me ” My mom said, as she took her drugs.
“Yeah, I would be going to the camp too. She paid my camp fee ”
“oh my g0sh! That’s so sweet of her. God bless her for me ”
“Amen ”
Her phone beeped and my heart skipped. Hope is not the video?
Her eyes were glued to the phone. “It a message from the grocery store.
My salary has been paid ” She spoke and smiled at the phone.
I felt relieved, I pray she didn’t see the video.
We heard a knock from the door, I stood up to go opened the door. It was our parrot neighbour Mrs Lee.
“Mrs Choi, have you seen this videos? Your daughter is darm cr@zy Aigoo! ”
“Let me see it” My mom collected the phone and played the first video.
It was when Ara and I was cutting those witches hair, my mother gasped.
“Soo Bin! Don’t tell me you did this? And even Ara too? ”
She watched the second video and eventually faced me.
Mummy!!! ?please don’t beat me!! ?
I gave her “Am-sorry- mom ” look.
Oh Mrs Lee has put me in trouble, if only she didn’t show my mom the videos.
