Chapter Twenty

GRACE POV

I woke up the next morning at 7pm. I quickly brushed my teeth and took my bath, afterwards I clothed myself in a white top and baggy jean short then I grabbed my phone and headed to the dining room, knowing fully well that breakfast have be served already.

Just like I expected, the table was filled with lots of food like cheeseburgers, apple pie, rice balls, fruit salad and some drinks to gulp it all.

I saw Mr Liam sitting on one of the seats but the others weren’t here. Where are parents, miss Nancy and hmm, Dave?

“Good morning Mr Liam”.I greeted, sitting on my usual seat.

“Good morning too, Grace. How was your night? Hope it was great? Filled with lot of dreams?”.He asked and I shrugged.

“Yeah, surely it was great but no dreams, just a dreamless sleep”.I chuckled and he smiled.

“Uh..Mr Liam?”.I called when he almost took his glance away.

“What?”.

“Where are the rest? Why are they not here?”.

“Well, they…”.

He was cut off by the appearance of Dave and Miss Nancy who just got into the dining room.

I caught Dave staring at me ruefully but I frowned and turn to another direction.

I was still angry at him about the messages he sent me and he know it, though he already apologized but I found it hard to forgive him.

Why? The reason is because anytime I forgive him instead of changing his attitude, he continues being overprotective. Go$h!

I began eating any food I found interest in. I could feel his eyes on me but I ignored him, knowing fully well that he deserves some silent treatment from me.

It was 10am and I and Dave were in the living room watching a K-drama which was about a girl who fell for the school’s most dangerous guy.

It kinda made me remember Dylan and I almost laughed thinking about who is ever gonna fell so deeply for Dylan. That person must be crazy!

“Grace…”.I heard Dave call me but I rolled my eyes. This was the fourth time he was calling me today so am not surprised.

“Grace, I know you are angry at me but am sorry, am truly sorry. Am gonna try to stop it this time…”.

“That is always what you say Dave, you never get tired of being overprotective. It’s what you love doing the most”.I voiced out with a rough sigh.

“Yeah, I know but now am tired, am tired of being overprotective. Am tired of seeing you angry all the time cause of my attitude, it sucks and I know that. Have changed now and I want you to believe it”.He said and I scoffed.

“Are you being serious, Dave?”.

“Yeah, am not lying Grace. Trust me, this time am not lying”.

“Pinky promise?”. I stretched out my small finger to him and he stretched out his before using his own to cuddle mine.

“Pinky promise”.He said and I smiled.

“Alright then, I forgive you”.

“Wow! Thanks and happy birth month in advance”.

“Birth month?”.

“Yeah, today is September 25th and your birthday is coming up on Sunday, the 29th of this month”.He said and I smiled widely.

“Am so lucky being a Sunday celebrant, you know. Imagine the beautiful gifts mum and dad would gift me”. I said, remembering the beautiful gifts Dad and mum give me last year on my fifteenth birthday.

“Gish! I bet mine would be the best gift you would ever receive”.He said and I chuckled.

I was in the car now with Mr Lucas driving on the way to Beaut road.

I was busy listening to some music on my phone when suddenly I thought of Jeanann.

Oh My Goodness! I didn’t call her back like I promised after hanging up on her and now, she must be feeling angry.

I paused the music I was listening to before going to my contact list, I found Jeanann’s name and I immediately called her.

It rang but she didn’t pick up the call, I called her again but she still didn’t pick it up. I called her again the third time but this time it didn’t ring for long cause she disconnected the call herself.

I went to my message app before sending her a message.

? Hey Jean, sorry for hanging up on you yesterday. I was busy, am sorry.

I sent her and after few seconds, she saw it but didn’t reply.

Okay? Is she still angry? I thought I apologized.

I shrugged and soon, the car stopped at Dylan’s residence. I stepped out of the car and told Mr Lucas to come pick me up at 4pm. He nodded before leaving.

I knocked thrice on the gate and Jasper opened up with a frown.

“Dammit! You know I hate you, right?”.He scowled and I scoffed, pushing him aside gently before entering the house.

Jasper watch her walk into the house in confusion. He wasn’t sure why his boss keeps allowing the bitch to come into the house.
