Chapter Twenty One
GRACE POV
Immediately I got to the living room, I sat on a couch and roam my eyes around.
It was a spacious living room with four sofas and two couches, a round silver fan on the ceiling was shoving different colors of light on the room as it spined.
“Oh! You are here already. Welcome!”.The woman who directed me to the study room came into the living room and I stared at her.
She was putting in a blue gown and a low heeled shoe while her shoulder length hair was styled in a ponytail.
“Good afternoon, ma’am”.I greeted as soon as I saw her.
“Oh dear, call me Mrs Skylar, am…”.
“Dylan’s mum?”.I cut her off and her eyes widen a bit before she let out a chuckle.
“No dear, am Dylan’s maid. I work here and trust me, the pay is quite good”.She said and I bit my upper lip.
I actually thought she was Dylan’s mum but I guess I was wrong after all.
“Um, I guess you must be waiting for Dylan”.She said and I nodded.
“Yeah, where is he?”.
“I guess he must be taking his bath, he just returned from a trip and he was looking so exhausted”.She said.
“Oh!”.I exclaimed and fixed my eyes on the movie displaying on the large sized plasma on the wall.
I felt confused and curious.
What trip did Dylan go to? And why did he go there?
I asked myself but when I couldn’t answer my own questions, I decided to ask Mrs Skylar.
“Ma’am…”
“Dear, call me Mrs Skylar”.She cut me off with a smile.
“Am sorry but um, I wanted to ask you a question”.I fondled with my fingers, feeling a bit nervous.
“What is it dear? Is it anything important?”.She asked but I shook my head.
“No, it is just a question about Dylan. Um, what trip did he go to?”.I asked and she sighed.
“I don’t know, he didn’t tell me but if he had told me, I might not tell you”.She said and I scoffed.
“What do you mean by you might not tell me?”.I asked with a slight frown on my face.
“Nah, don’t take it that way. Am only trying to say that once Dylan discloses an information about his whereabout to his workers, it is meant to be kept a secret”. She said and I gasped silently.
Okay, that’s weird. Why is everything about Dylan a secret? Why is he being secretive? Somehow, I feel like finding out though I know am still far away from the truth.
“But why?”.I asked, hoping she answers.
“Jeez! This isn’t right, I shouldn’t be saying all this. I might get sacked or worst still, get into trouble”.She said and I hummed slowly.
“Mrs Skylar, am confused though I know you don’t wanna keep answering my questions but please, can you please answer this last question. I promise not to ask anymore question after you answer this one”.I said and she hesitated a little before nodding.
“Okay, fine. What’s the question?”.She asked and I smiled.
“Where are Dylan’s parents?”.I asked and she shivered a bit.
“Shh, low down your voice. Dylan hates talks about his parents”.She used one of her fingers to cross her lips.
“Why?”.I asked curiously.
“I sincerely don’t know but the answer to the question you just asked is not known by me. Yeah, I don’t know where his parents is but all I know is that they don’t live here with him”.She said but her words made me feel so confused.
“Am confused. Why does his parents live somewhere else? Why do they choose to stay away from him? And if they don’t live here, where then do they live? What about Dylan? How is he coping without his parents? How??”.I asked and she gave a long sigh.
“That’s a lot of questions you just asked but kiddo, am sorry, I can’t answer them cause I don’t know the answers. If you want answers then you will have to go ask Dylan, not me. Anyways, I have to go to the kitchen to make lunch, Dylan must be done taking his bath. Go to the study room and wait for him!”. She stated and left the living room while I place my palm on cheek, looking so confused as well as curious.

Flashback——-Yesterday(Immediately after Celeb called Dylan) I hope you all remember this scene.

“I will be there soon”.Dylan said and without letting a second pass, he cut off the call.
He glanced at the wristwatch on his wrist and scoffed when he realized the time was 9:56am.
‘The girl Grace will come, right? Who knows? She might not come, after all they all fear me. They call me the quiet devil…how ridiculous!”.He thought with a chuckle.
He called Mrs Skylar through the intercom in his room and Mrs Skylar arrived shortly.
“What do you need, sir?”.She bowed in respect.
“A girl named Grace might come today at 12am. She is fair, slightly tall, with curly hair, pale pink lips and an oval face. Don’t allow an imposter without that description come into this house, is that clear?”.He ordered and Mrs Skylar bowed again.
His voice was low but commanding and authoritative.
“Tell Jasper to keep the gate in check. No one, I mean no one should be allowed into this house without being properly checked”.He said and though Mrs Skylar was confused as why such should be done because of the arrival of a girl but she dare not ask questions.
“Yes sir, that won’t be a problem”.She said and Dylan suddenly smirked devilishly making Mrs Skylar flinch but however, she tried to be calm.
“Drop that tittle whenever she is around. Don’t call me sir, master, or whatever whenever she is here. Understood?”.He asked and Mrs Skylar nodded.
“Understood Sir!”.
