HIDDEN WIFE : CHAPTER 61 – 70
Chapter 66
THIRD PERSON’S pov.
Baldwin’s Penthouse, New Orleans
“Your coffee, sir” Lucas said as he dropped a cup of coffee on the table.
Mr Baldwin reached for it, he took a sip and frowned slightly when his tongue got burnt, then he raised a questioning eyebrow at Lucas.
“I didn’t know you’d drink it immediately” Lucas defended himself.
Mr Baldwin glared at him for a while, until there was a knock on the door, and he ushered the person in -he seemed to already know who knocked.
The door open, and Fatima walked in.
“Sir” she greeted him with a now.
She dropped a file on the table, and plugged in her flashdrive to Mr Baldwin’s laptop.
She pressed a few buttons, typed a few words and a footage popped up.
Mr Baldwin stared at the screen with a deep and confused frown.
“Sir, according to the CCTV footage, Mrs Baldwin did come to Wetland that day, and walked in on you and Miss wood uh….” she trailed off, and coughed awkwardly since she couldn’t say the word.
“Fk!” he cvrsed loudly.
He reached for the laptop, and threw it across the room in anger.
“That’s why she left me, turns out she caught me red-handed that’s why she repeatedly asked me about my meeting, and I lied to her face!”
He pulled his hair and let out a low growl, then faced Lucas who quickly looked down to avoid his blazing gaze.
“What were you doing when she came in? Why didn’t you stop her?! Huh?!”
“I.. I.. I was sleeping” Lucas stuttered.
Mr Baldwin reached for an object on the table and threw it at him (Lucas), but he quickly jumped out of the way.
“F®ol!” he roared.
Lucas rushed towards a bag, he pulled out an ID card, and showed it to Mr Baldwin, but Mr Baldwin simply glared at him even more.
“Calm down, Mr Baldwin”
“I should calm down? My wife isn’t within my sight, and you want me to calm down? How can I do that?!”
There was a moment of silence, and the only sound echoing in the room was Mr Baldwin’s ragged breaths.
“Sir, this is her fake ID card, and I believe this is her home address on it”
Mr Baldwin glared at him a few seconds, before snatching the ID card from him and stared at it.
A smile appeared on his face.
“Well, well, well, I guess it’s high time we did some good deeds” he sighed. “We’re returning a lost but found bag tomorrow morning” he smirked.
HIDDEN WIFE : CHAPTER 61 – 70
RACHEL’S pov
Ding ding.
The doorbell rang, but I groaned tiredly and sleepily, I adjusted my posture to a more comfortable one, and continued sleeping.
It’s so weird how I’m feeling very tired this morning, I woke up early with an intention of cooking breakfast, but I was too tired that I ended up falling asleep on the sofa.
Or could it be because I had a race yesterday?
Ding ding.
The annoying sound came again.
“Darling, can you kindly get the door, please?” Asher shouted from the kitchen, and I rolled my eyeballs at him.
Asher just doesn’t take corrections, I have told him many a time to stop calling me his darling, or claiming to be my boyfriend but he wouldn’t listen.
“Darling?”
“Just shut up!” I snapped at him, and I heard him laugh at my frustration.
I lazily got up, and groggily walked towards the door. I flung it open, and leaned against the frame as I released a sleepy yawn.
“Good morning” I greeted whoever is standing before me, with my eyes closed.
“Good morning, my heartbeat” a very, very, very familiar voice greeted me.
My eyes snapped open at once, and a very loud shriek escaped my lips when I saw the figure standing in front of me.
“Du-duncan?!” I stuttered quietly.
Tell me I’m dreaming right now. Or I’m losing my mind. What is he doing here so early in the morning?
“It’s not so early, it’s already 9am” he said.
Just then an arm wrapped around my shoulder, and I was slammed to a chest.
“Darling, are you ok?” Asher asked me, with a concern and worried expression -I guess he heard my shriek.
I flinched, and pvshed Asher away from me when a loud and angry growl emitted from Duncan.
“You’re living with another man?!” he growled.
Duncan’s angry and glaring eyes trailed along my body, then they diverted to Asher and his gaze hardened.
That’s when I a second and proper look at us, Asher and I.
I was wearing a see white through nightie, my white p.anty and bbs could clearly be seen -in fact, this nightie covered almost nothing at all.
And Asher on the other hand was half nked, he has only his boxer on, and anyone who saw us now, would think we’re a married couple.
I gulped nervously as I looked back at Duncan’s face, he’s glaring at my exposed legs at the moment, and he looked exactly like a volcano that’s very ready to erupt in a minute.
“Do you always get the door dressed in this?!” he asked through clenched jaws, and gritted teeth.
“No, no, no, my..my..m-my robe…” I trailed off as my eyes drifted towards my robe, resting on the table near the sofa I was sleeping on.
Wait… he’s my ex-husband now, why am I trying to explain myself to him?
“Who are you to question her?” Asher asked challengingly.
Oh no, Asher, can’t you read the handwriting on the wall?
Can’t you tell this is my husband? No, ex-husband.
Looking at Duncan’s expression right now is scaring me, it’s as if a world war is about happening in here today.
Lord help me!
