WESTERN PAVILION

Dylan strode into the majestic mansion while Four and snake eyes waited outside

There was no need for them following him inside as they were just two against dozens of men, his grandfather’s men who were at every nook and crook of the mansion.

With an impassive expression, Dylan walked in to be helped by an already waiting maid, who took of his coat, lingering more than necessary while ogling at his manly physique

With a glare, the maid immediately bowed in excruciating fear, stepping backwards to the sides, allowing him passage.

Dylan didn’t bother to ask of his grandfather when he didn’t see him in the sitting room as he already knew were the old man was.

Casually walking to the wine cellar that was located at backspace of the living room, he sat opposite and poured himself a wine without bothering to acknowledge the old man.

Donovan didn’t care neither, he casually too a sip from the champaign in the glass he twirled around

“I’m glad you’re not getting weak, it’s good news”

Donovan gave a withering smile

“And I’m more impressed about the progressiveness between you and the young lady from the Summer’s”

Dylan smirked
“That’s how you’ve taught me, everything about me must be screaming benefits, even when it comes to my life partner.

After all that’s how you married grandma and that was why she left you which in turn you had to kll the man she left you for and she klled herself”

Donovan’s whole facial expression changed and cracked into one of thunderous anger

That memory was the memory he had buried deep down and covered it up with a bony and haughty expression masked with coldness

“Smart move, I see you did some assignments and researches”
Donovan composed himself immediately and gave an amused smile

Dylan smirked inwardly
He knew too well that the brought up history had caused a turmoil in his grandfather’s heart but was just pretending not being affected.

“What did you expect? Everything I do now, it’s what you made me become”
Dylan responded to his grandfather’s sarcastic remark.

“You will be getting engaged to the young lady of the Summer’s in a week’s time and so you need to speed up in your relationship”
Donovan declared while Dylan clenched his fist tight which went unnoticed

“Ain’t surprised, alright”
Dylan said in consentment which surprised Donovan

“I see you’re more better than your Dad after all, a relief”

“Explain”
Dylan frowned

“Well, forty years ago, hour Dad refused to get married to the woman I wanted him to, he rather chose to marry for love, he married Viola, an average woman……well she was the reason you became the heir to the Donovan fortune”

Dylan was getting more and more confused to what the old man was hinting at

Seeing the confusion in his eyes, Donovan continued

“She was forced to give you up to grow up under my radar as I threatened to give it to your distant relatives If she hadn’t and now see how you’re turned out……

I corrected the mistake I made to let Gabriel, your father grow out of my sight and it made him weak in the business world….imagine he wanted to be a doctor (scoff), I corrected that mistake by training you personally, to be ruthless”

Donovan drank from his glass.

Dylan’s hands shook at the revelation, if he hated his grandfather before, he resented him now.

His mother….gosh his mother all along was a tool he played because she came from an average family…..his mother did everything because of him

God! How could he be such a pain to her all these years?!!

He hated her and he saw how deeply she was hurt by her but she didn’t say anything to explain it!!!

Did you even give her a chance?

A voice asked him in self blame.

Dylan looked at his grandfather who seemed nonchalant about the story he had just told, he felt not so guilty at all.

Dylan thought, there were only a few heartless people in the world and his grandfather was one of them.

His grandfather though old, still was the biggest shareholder of the Donovan enterprise in total.
Dylan was just the acting CEO and second in command

Untill the old man is overpowered, he would relentlessly decide their live choices and that was why he was severely working on overpowering his grandfather

Just a little more patience and tolerance and he’ll get there sooner.
