Episode 4
Vivian was almost fainting from the fit of rage that shook her entire body as she put her phone down. “The nerves! He dares speak with so much audacity after all he’s done” she told no one in particular.
She has been so angry that she hadn’t had anything to eat all morning. How could she eat when she kept seeing the images that was sent to her over and again in her sub consciousness.
When a little bird had first told her about her husband’s escapades, she’d laughed so hard and called it off as a prank.
But the more she tried the shove off the instigator, the more she was served evidences of her husband’s numerous adventures of shame.
She decided to go see her mum, staying at home all alone to drink and cry all through the day was going to do her no good. She needed to speak to someone before she loses her mind.
“Vivian! You look like you’ve been wrestling a dem0n. Are you okay?” her mother asked her as she welcomed her inside the house, walking her to a seat.
“Will you answer me at once? Why are you crying Vivy?” her mother asked again when she just sat there looking a the ceiling and letting the tears flow so easily.
“Leonard is cheating on me, mum. He’s been doing it for so long, that I wonder how I didn’t know about it till now. And last night mum, one of his numerous girlfriends took my call, after I had called for so long, and you know what she told me?
You won’t believe it mum, she told me that I need to stop calling, that he wouldn’t be able to take my calls. Mum I cried my eyes out and…” Vivian rambled on but her mother cut in at some point.
“Vivy! You need to calm down and talk coherently. I can barely understand a thing from all you’ve just said now!” her mother told her frankly.
And Vivian resumed sobbing not saying a thing again. “Vivy, Leonard is cheating on you?” she asked her calmly. “Yes mum” she mumbled.
“He’s been cheating for so long, but you just found out?” she asked again, and her daughter responded in the affirmative once again.
“Exactly how did you find out darling?” Her mother asked and this time, Vivian had a frown on her face as she sat up to answer her mum.
“Mum, are you doubting me? Do you by any chance think I’m able to accuse my husband baselessly? Well mum, since you think so poorly of this daughter of yours, how about you take a look at some of the videos and pictures here?” she asked as she unlocked her phone angrily.
“Ewwww!” her mother screamed as she looked at the first set of pictures. It was Leonard no doubt, and he was in very compromising positions with a woman that appeared mysterious; her face was never visible in all the pictures.
In all the places she appeared with Leonard, her face and body was partially concealed, making it almost impossible to identify her. But a look at the pictures no doubt told just how much Leonard and the strange woman had been together.
It was indeed a collection that showed them in lovey dovey positions. From the way Leonard’s hairstyles and clothes changed in the pictures, it was quite clear that he’d been with that woman for a very long while.
“So mum, you see now? Leonard now leaves the house so early and comes back at any time of the night, always at the ungodly hours of the night! So I made some researches, and I found out the identity of the woman” she told her mother, happy that she was beginning to pay her attention.
“Oh!” her mother said, undeniably asking her to spill it already. “Mum, a reliable source told me my husband has been messing around with the CEO of Mcmorrit Holdings. He’d been sleeping with her!” she cried bitterly.
Her mother walked over to where she was seated and pulled her closer to herself, patting her compassionately, as she waited for her to calm down.
“Vivy, what explanation did your husband give when you confronted him with these evidences?” she asked her daughter calmly.
“What would he say? Of course he’d deny so I didn’t bother to show him. But I intend to show him just how much a scorned woman can do!” she informed her mother.
“At the risk of getting called old school and whatever else you may want to add to it, I’ll like to point out certain things to you.
Whoever is feeding you with all the information certainly isn’t doing it to make your marriage any better.
Think of it, why is the person taking so much time and dedication to get you this collection of incriminating evidences?” she started.
Vivian made to respond but she gave her a look, the kind that told Vivian her mother was done listening to her.
“You’ll allow me talk Vivy. And when I’m done, if you still want to stick to the plans of unleashing hel1 in your home, then I’ll just have to give you my blessings” she told her sternly.
“And if the person isn’t hiding anything, why isn’t the supposed CEO’s face and body always blotched to make it unrecognizable?
There’s more to these pictures Vivian. You need to look beyond what’s so visible to the eye and see what’s been tactically concealed from your view”
“And assuming he’s cheating on you, which my instincts has failed to agree that he’s doing, you won’t be making any progress by making your home turn into a house of thorns. You’d only be chasing him farther away.
You’re pregnant for God’s sake Vivian, you need your husband more than ever now. Don’t forget that your mood directly and indirectly affects the well being of the child”
“Summary, call your husband and have a heart to heart talk with him. Have him look at the evidences you have and see what he has to say about them.
You’d be making him feel very remorseful and repentant when you show him how much you know and how much you’re willing to work things out” she told her daughter convincingly.
“Thanks for the advice mum, hut I already have a plan. I’m not going to make it so easy for him this time. I’m not about to leave my home for anyone, but I’m sure going to make that house a living hel1 for him.
When we eventually get back to how we used to be, he’d never ever imagine getting close to saying hi to another woman” she informed her mother resolutely.
“Oh Vivy! Her mother lamented sorrowfully. But she knew there was nothing she could do to make her daughter changer her mind. She knew Vivian too well to know when her mind is made up on something.
She decided to let the topic hang there and went into the kitchen to get her a freshly prepared meal. Vivian felt so light after talking to her mum.
She was very happy that she had come up with a plan while she spoke with her mum, so she ate with great relish and spent the day playing games with her mum.
“My darling, I beg you now, I know your mind is made up on what to do with your husband, that’s not really my problem, I know the love you both have for each other will make you okay at the end of it all.
But even if you have decided to reject my advise on how to handle your husband, please do me a favour.
Stay away from that informant. Whoever it is, doesn’t mean well for you” her mother told her as she walked her to her car later that day. Vivian smiled at her mum as she got into her car and drove home.
