EMILY POV
“She is still alive Cade, I mean it”I said as I stared at him
The expression in his eyes told me that he wasn’t prepared to believe me but I had to convince him some how, we have to find our child, it’s been ten years, she will just be mine or ten.
I just want to see my child,I thought as I held his hand
“You have to believe me Cade! I won’t just be lying if I don’t mean it, I mean it Cade,I really mean it”I said
“Fine then, I will trust you, since you have said our child is alive,I will get every thing ready to find her”he said but I shake my head negatively
“What’s wrong?”he asked
“Lucy!Lucy will certainly know where she is,Lucy was the nurse who helped me years ago ,she didn’t want Denise to take my child away, she will certainly know where to find her, please talk to her Cade, tell her to help me find her, Please Cade!”I begged softly
“Fine then, I will do as you say but please don’t worry too much, if we must find our child, you need to get well soon, get well and together we will look for our child”he said pecking my fore head
He stood up getting ready to leave but I held his hand.
“Do you still want me to leave! I don’t want to Cade, I love you no matter what happened between us years ago, you are my life, don’t send me away, Iosing our child is already wearing me down, I don’t want to lose you too”I said softly..
He held my hand and stared me at me for a while and then he pecked my lips.
“I don’t deserve you Emily,you are too good for me “he muttered softly
“To heck with being good, I can be bad too, if that will make you see how much I love and want to be with you” i said and that made him smile.
“I love you and I don’t want you to leave, I won’t be able to live with out you too, I love you so much Emily, so please never leave me,I beg you”he said softly and that got me smiling too.
The door opened and my mom poked her head in
“I think it’s time you let me see my daughter, you have been in here long enough”she said and he nodded softly and stood up to leave but I held him back
“I love you”I said softly and he nodded
“Me too”he replied and left the room .
“And how are you?”she asked as she came to sit beside me
“Am doing fine mom”I replied and she came to sit beside me, starring at me for a very long time
“I was so worried dear, why did you leave with out saying any thing?”I asked
“Well i was looking for Lucy!”I said
“Who is Lucy?”
“She is the nurse who helped with the delivery of my child”I said
“So! What do you want to go and see her for?”She asked
“She might know where my child is mom and don’t tell me that my child is not alive, I know it mom, she is alive and I can feel it, I have a child mom and she is some where and I will find her ,I promise “I vowed softly.

CADE POV
“You can come in through here Mr Callaghan “The police officer said as they walked me to the prison my mom was kept
“Just keep on going straight, it’s the only cell there, she has been put there because she kept ok shouting that she is innocent, her screams got the officers angry and they had to put her where her noise won’t be a problem”she said giving me an apologetic look.
“Its okay, I under stand”I said softly and while she left, I continued my journey.
Emily is still bent on believing that our child is alive and she is convincing me too.
And so to confirm fully, have come to see my mom,she will certainly say the truth to me,if she truly loves me like she says, she will tell me what happened to my child.
I got to the cell and saw her sitting on the floor,starring at her hands.
It hurts to see her like this but she brought it upon her self, just as she she means so much to me, Emily means the same to me and wanting to get rid of the woman I love is some thing I will never accept, I thought.
“Hello Mom”i said softly and she looked at me.
Immediately she saw me, she stood up and ran towards me
“My darling,you have finally come to get me out of here, you have no idea how much I miss you” she said
“I didn’t come here to get you out mom, you have to pay for what you did”I said
“I didn’t do any thing Cade,why are you so bent on this”she yelled at me
“You did Mom, you ruined the lives of a lot of people, including me as well”I said
“Every thing I did, I did it for you, for your life to be smooth and easy, I love you and your father and if I did what I did, it was to get the evil people out of our lives for good”She said
“Fine then, I will believe you when you say that you did every thing for me only if you will tell me the truth”i said
“What truth?”she asked
“Is my child alive mom, did you really kill her or did you give her to some one, please mom answer me”I said softly
She stared at me for a long time and suddenly she began to laugh.
“Now I get it”she said pointing at me
“You didn’t come here to get me out or because you miss me, you came to ask about that stupid girl child”she said looking angry
“That child doesn’t only belong to Emily, she is also my child mom, your grand child, what did you do to her?”I asked getting angry myself
“Do you think I will tell you?”she asked softly
“Won’t you?”I asked
“I won’t! I won’t let you know what happened to your child Cade, that will be my punishment to you and your father and to that girl, that girl whom you chose over your own mom”she said
“I chose her because she is honest and also because she is the victim here mom, if this were a story, we will be the villain in the story”I said
“To heck with it being a story, this is reality and where there is good, there will definitely be a bad”she said giving me a smile
“This is frustrating mom, just tell me if our child is still alive”
“Now that I think about it, this is like some sort of negotiation, if you want to get my answer, get me out of here and I will tell you the truth”she said
“So you telling us that our is dead is all a lie right?”I asked
“Think what ever you want Cade! My mouth is sealed until you get me out of this place,I won’t say a thing “she said as she went back to sit on the floor
“I don’t have to make a negotiation with you mom, I already have the answer I need and that is my child is still alive, I will find her mom and certainly bring her here to visit you”I said and turned to leave
“You will never find her! You won’t ever find her ! You won’t……..”she kept on yelling as I walked back to the police desk.
I was about leaving when I saw some police men rushing out in a hurry
“What’s wrong?”I said stopping one of them
“There have been a fire out break at the penitentiary, a lot of in mate are escaping and some are dead due to the fire, Its chaos down there”the man said as he ran off
David is at the penitentiary right now, what if he is one of the people that escaped! I thought as I brought out my phone calling the head guard.
“Make sure you all are on alert, my wife safety matters the most okay!”I said and switch off the phone.
Getting into my car,I drove straight to the prison and saw the chaos the police man was talking about.
Is David amongst those who was burnt or did he escape,I thought as I saw the inspector who help in finding Emily.
Quickly I went to him and when he saw me there, he was surprised at first
“I just want to know,if David is alive or dead”I said softly and he nodded his head.
Soon enough two fire fighters ran towards us.
“The fire is so much sir and as you have requested, five prisoner escaped and ten were burnt to death”the fire fighter said
“Is there a new inmate called David amongst the dead burnt people”I asked quickly
“I will check on that and get back to you”he said and walked off quickly .
