Just The Beginning ?
Episode twenty eight

It’s still early morning and am getting ready for work. I was so exhausted yesterday and after talking to Dad I went back to bed but not before Stacy tried to $educe me, again.
She was dressed in red lingerie and I wont lie,she was smoking hot! But shockingly for both of us, she didn’t manage to turn me on.
Am finally over her!
I really never thought it would happen that fast but am glad that am finally free from her crutches.
She’s now out of my heart and the next step is to get her out of my life for good!
I grab my phone and turn it on, walking to the door but before am out, mum walks in.
” Morning Alex, ” she says kssing my cheek.
” Morning mum. ”
” Do you by any chance know where your father is? ”
” No, why? ”
” Well… He was busy in his phone almost all night and when I woke up he was gone! Do you think he has a new mistress? ”
” Come on mum, don’t stress yourself out. You know it’s not good for you, ” I say sitting her on my bed.
” I can’t help it. ”
” I know but you don’t have any other choice right now. Am sure he’s just busy with work. ”
” Okay… So, when am I going to meet the mother of my grandchild? Am so excited?!” she says a smile on her lips. ” I really can’t wait to have that bundle of joy in my arms. ”
” Soon mum, and by the way I have to talk to you about Stacy, ” I quickly try to change the subject. Am still not sure introducing her to ivy will be a good idea. This lie was really not supposed to go this far and now and so very fked!
That girl is as crazy as Stacy and I’ve had enough crazy to last me for a life time!
Maybe I should tell mum the truth and get it over with right? It’s always said that the truth will set you free and right now I seriously feel like am in chains!Am just not sure when or how to tell her.
” What about Stacy? ”
” Am afraid that she has something new on her sleeve and is going to try and manipulate you with it since she’s desperate. You have to promise not to believe anything she tells you, okay? ”
” Don’t worry, I know what type of a person she is and I can handle her? ”
” Good! ” I say just as my phone rings.
” Good morning Antony, do you have any news? ” I I say as soon as i pick up.
” Where have you been? I’ve being trying to reach you since yesterday but your phone was off. ”
” Why? What happened? ”
” The men that were after Ava caught up with her yesterday and they almost shot her. ”
” What?! Please tell me she’s okay,” I ask my heart racing.
” She is, I managed to call the police on time but one of the girls she was living with wasn’t as lucky. She got shot trying to help Ava. ”
” What? Where are they now? “I say taking my keys.
” They are at the hospital, the one your Dad owns. ”
” Okay.” i hang up and then turn to mum. ” I have to go. ”
” What happened?”
” I finally found Ava but she’s in trouble. ”
” What kind of trouble? ”
” Am not sure mum but I’ll tell you everything once I get back, ” I say running out the door.

As soon as am in the hospital I call Dad and he informs me that he and Ava are in his office.
” Alex! ” Ava calls running to me and giving me a hug.
” I really missed you, shorty,” I say kssing her hair.
” Hey am not that short anymore, ‘ she says breaking the hug, a fake frown on her face.
That was always my nickname for her but she never liked it. I always loved the cute angry face she made and nothing has changed. She’s still the most adorable thing ever!
” Oh really now? You are still as short as i remember,” I say pinching her nose lightly. ” I really missed you, don’t ever do that to me again. ”
” Am sorry, I didn’t mean to trouble you. ”
” It’s okay.Just promise never to do it again. ”
” I promise, ” she says and I pull her to me giving her another hug.
” So….what happened? ” I ask as we both sit. Dad is seated on the opposite side, his eyes on us. ” Why did you ran away Ava? ”
Ava is quite for a second as if contemplating on what to say. She looks kind of scared and worried at the same time and I take her hand assuring her that everything will be fine.
” Ava, you can tell me the truth. I promise I won’t let anyone harm you ever again. ”
” Well.. I didn’t ran away. I was kidnapped, ” she says.
” Who dared kidnap you? ” Dad asks angrily.
” Am not really sure who kidnapped me but I know the owner of the place I was held at. I can never forget his face! ” she says hatred clear in her voice. ” They have so many young girls in there, all forced into pro$titution. I was very lucky to have gotten out of that place alive. ”
” Yes, and am glad you did. ” That’s Dad.
” I was to but now I wish I didn’t, ” Ava says and I look at her confused.
” Why would you say something like that? ”
” If I didn’t escape then Maya would still be alright and not fighting for her life right now, ” she says her voice breaking. ” She took a bullet for me Alex, and I can’t help but feel guilty. She’s paying for my mistake and it’s not fair. ”
” Stop blaming yourself, there’s no way you’d have known something like this would ever happen. Maya must really love you to do that for you and am sure she doesn’t blame you for anything, ” I say wiping away her tears.
” Yes, you are right about her. She and her sister took me in and treated me as one of their own. They really are the best, ” she says a smile on her lips.
“I can’t wait to meet them. ”
” I can’t wait either. Vee is a very nice girl and am sure you’ll love her. ”
” Yes, she is a very nice girl ,” Dad says getting up from his seat. ” I have to attend to something, I’ll see you guys later, ” he says walking out. ”
Vee?! I can’t seem to get rid of that girl. I mean, I see her almost every where I go and now her name is also everywhere!
” Her name is vee? ”
” Yes, why? ”
” Nothing, just asking. ”
” Speaking of her, I need a favour, ” Ava says.
” What favour? ”
” Since Vee cant go back to her house for reasons am sure you know, I was hoping you’d let her stay at your place, for now. ”
” Of course she can.Thats the least I can do after everything she did for you. They can stay for as long as they want. ”
” You are the best! Thank you, ” Ava says giving me a hug.
” Anything for you. ”
The door suddenly opens and guess who walks in?
The one and only violet!
She’s staring at me confusion clear on her face and my eyes are wide open in shock.
This can’t be!
