Episode forty nine
Alex
I walk up to my room and go straight to bed, throwing myself on it. I can’t believe that this is happening to me? Why can’t she be with me if she loves me?!
I know that she’s hiding something from me, I can see the fear clear in her eyes and I just wish she’d trust me enough to tell me whatever it is.
I know I’ve only known her for a short while, but am so crazy about her that if the situation were to call for it, I would sacrifice myself for her.
Why can’t she see that?
I’ve actually never been rejected before, and it hurts so damn much! Am trying to be a calm as possible but I feel like am dying in the inside.
But there’s no way am giving up on her! The fact that she loves me gives me strength enough to wait until she ready.
Patience is a virtue, right?
I’ll have to find a way to make her trust and love me enough to want to be with me.
As am busy thinking of a way to get Vee to open up, my phone rings and Ava’s name flashes on the screen.
” Hi Ava, what’s up? ” I answer.
“Nothing much, just wondering where you and Vee are. ”
” We are at our new home. ”
” What new home? Wait.. You guys moved out without me?! ” She asks faking surprise and I smile despite myself.
” You know that will never happen. Anyway, Something came up and we decided to move out , but I’ll explain everything to you later. ”
” Okay.. I called to tell you that Lisa came over to see you. ”
“Lisa? How did she find out where I live? anyway, what did she want? ”
” Am not sure, I didn’t bother asking but she said she’ll be back soon. ”
” Thank goodness we are moving out tomorrow! ”
” I know right? When are you guys getting home? ”
” We wont be long. ”
” I actually think you should take your time and try to sought out your issues. I don’t like how you two are acting around each other lately. ”
” Believe me when I say that am working on that, ” I say letting out a sigh.
” Okay.. Bye. ”
” Bye, ” i say hanging up.
I lay back on the bed facing up and stare at the ceiling. Moments later I hear a knock on the door and turn my head to see Vee peeping.

Vee
” Hey, is it alright if I come in? ” I ask as he sits up on his bed.
” Of course, ” he says raising his eyebrows. ” Why would you even ask that ? ” he says watching as i close the door walking towards him.
” I just thought.. ”
” What? ” he says cutting in. ” You thought that am mad at you and I’d treat you differently after what happened?! Don’t be silly Vee, ” he says shaking his head.
I’ve actually come here to clear everything up with him. I’ve thought about things and decided that I won’t let anyone take away the chance I’ve been given to be happy.
Not my uncle, not my past and not even myself.
I will no longer feel guilty for something that I had no control over. I wont let the only guy that I’ve ever loved slip right through my fingers.
Peter already destroyed my past but I certainly won’t let him interfere with my present. I’ll tell Alex everything and even if he rejects me, atleast I won’t have any regrets.
Am very nervous as I sit on the bed next to him, not exactly sure how am going to start doing this.
” Am sorry about what happened, I didn’t mean to hurt you. ”
” It’s okay. ”
” No it’s not. You should know that there isn’t one person in the world I want more than I want you. I really don’t like seeing you like this and it hurts me to when you are hurting. ”
” Then why are you making this difficult for us? ” he asks taking my hand. ” Just forget about whatever is bothering you and let me love you. I promise not to hurt you vee and I’ll give you every little piece of me and won’t give you anything to complain about. ”
” Okay, ” I say and his smile grows back .” But there’s something you need to know first. ”
” You don’t have to tell me anything you don’t want to. The fact that you said yes is good enough for me. ”
” But I want to. This is the only way I’ll be able to commit myself to you fully.”
” Okay.. Am all ears.”
” Okay, ” I say letting out a huge breath. ” I was.. raped by my uncle when I was fifteen, ” i say nervously and his eyes go wide in shock.
” What?! ”
” Yes, it happened about seven years ago, after my parents died. My uncle Peter became our guardian and took over all of Dad businesses and assets.
He took advantage of the power he’d gained and that’s when they mistreatment and rape began, ” I continue with Alex giving me all his attention.
” He kept on forcing himself on me and threatened to do the same to Maya if I ever said a word. After a year, I couldn’t take it anymore and decided to ask one of Dads friends Paul, for help not knowing that he was Peter’s accomplice.
Paul ratted me out and when Peter found out he tried to rape Maya to punish me and left me no choice but to shoot him on the leg with my Dads gun, and that’s how we got away from him. We moved to the city hoping he’ll never find us. ”
” So that guy was just left unpunished, ” Alex says gritting his teeth.
” Yes, I didn’t have the means to make him pay then, but the worst part is that he found us. I saw Paul today at the hospital and that’s the reason I want Maya out of there. Am sure they are planning something. ”
” Am kind of glad that the scumbag is here. Now I’ll get the chance to make him pay for every pain he caused you and Maya, ” Alex says fisting his hand.
” It won’t be easy, ” I say getting up. ” The guy is beyond crazy and am scared he might hurt you too. ”
” Don’t worry about me, I can take care of myself. So.. Is this the reason why you didn’t want to be with me? ”
” Yes, I didn’t think you’d want to be with someone like .After what happened to me, I hated myself and felt dirty and worthless. I thought that no one would ever want me. ”
” But it wasn’t your fault! You were just a victim of circumstances and you shouldn’t blame yourself, ” he says walking towards me.
” So.. Do you still want me to be your girlfriend? ” I ask nervously biting my lip.
“What do you think? ” he asks as his big strong arm encircles my waist and he pulls me against him, until my chest brushed against his.
He starts caressing my bottom lip slowly and softly with his thumb while staring deep in my eyes. I fight to control my breathing. Just feeling him touch me is now making my heart do crazy things.
I can feel his heart beating fast next to mine and I don’t understand why he hasn’t kssed me yet! Why the he..ll is he teasing me when I know he wants the kss just as bad!
” Are you going to kss me or not? ” I ask.
” There’s nothing I want more, ” he says as his mouth lowers to cover mine then his lips begin to move.
I wrap my arms around his shoulders and kss him for as long as i can and finally break the kss, as we both struggle to breath. He presses his forehead against mine, still holding me as our breathing slows to normal.
” i still can’t believe that this is real,” I say.
” You better believe it, because you are mine now. Only mine, ” he whispers against my lips and just as he’s about to kss me again, my phone rings.
” Who could that be, ” he says moving back a little as I reach for my phone.
” It’s Rita, ” I say picking the call. ” Hi Rita. ”
” Vee! You won’t believe what just happened?! She says excitedly almost shouting.
” What happened? ”
” Maya just came out of the coma! She’s awake now and is asking for you. ”
” Are.. you serious? ”
” Damn right I am. Get over here now! ”
” Okay, ” I say hanging up and freeze for a second, taking in what she just said.
” Are you okay? What did she tell you? ” Alex asks.
” Maya woke up! My sister is finally back! ” I say tears of joy falling down my cheeks and he pulls me in a hug.
