Olivia presented their proposal. Weston was lost in thoughts and his secretary clears his throat to get Weston’s attention back.
“Emm…” Weston uttered still in thoughts.
“I knew something will go wrong. Jemma never consults me on anything” Caleb whispered to Olivia.
“He hasn’t say anything yet so it’s better we don’t jump to conclusions” Olivia whispered.
“Mr Hong, what do you think of our proposal?” Jemma asked professionally as she hide her anxiety behind her confidence.
“Well… It’s not bad but I must say…” Weston paused as he stood up and Jemma stood up as well.
“Congratulations Mrs Chen, I like what I see” Weston said with a smile as he gave out his hand for an handshake.
Everyone exhaled with as a sigh of relief.
“Thank you Mr Hong, you won’t regret investing in us” Jemma said smiling widely.
Weston stared at her deeply.
“I’ve never doubted the abilities of GG diamonds and it’s an honor to be here” Weston complimented.
“We should be the ones saying so Mr Hong. It’s an honor to have you here and I look forward to our co-operation together” Jemma said professionally and Weston nodded.
“Of course”
LOST PASSION : CHAPTER 1-10
~~~HANKUK UNIVERSITY (HUFS) ***
Zed and Eli ran out of the lobby. Eli looked at Zed still confused on what was going on.
“Hey, what’s going on?” Eli asked curiously as he stopped walking.
“You haven’t looked at your phone all day right?” Zed asked trying to catch his breath.
“What happened?” Eli asked bringing out his phone from his pocket.
“Congratulations man! You got elected for the president of drama club” Zed screamed grinning and Eli’s eyes went wide open in shock.
“What! Zed are you serious?” Eli asked excitedly and Zed nodded.
“You only applied once and you won the vote, wow. Impressive Eli”
“Well, I’ve got all it takes to be a leader. They would have regretted it if they didn’t vote for me” Eli bragged.
“Anyways what made you change your mind Eli? I thought you were against joining any club” Zed questioned.
“I changed my mind out of the blue. Although I’m studying business management, I should do something fun while I’m still in college don’t you think” Eli chuckled silently.
FLASHBACK ~~
On Eli’s first year in college. Jemma came into his room.
“Eli you should think hard about the future of our family. I know you love and dream to be an actor someday but you can’t push through with that dreams of yours because your dad and I have high expectations of you so it’s only fair that you follow our footsteps and I know you admire your grandpa’s skills of making jewelries” Jemma said defiantly and Eli frowned.
“I would have loved it if you told me to push through with my plans of studying jewelry design but mum you’re always against my decisions and choices. You’re always pressuring me into doing what I don’t like. Why should I follow your footsteps when I’m totally into something else? Should I regret been born into this family” Eli said bitterly and Jemma rolled her eyes.
“You’re lucky you were born into this family. Studying business management isn’t all you can do in college, you smart enough to figure that out” Jemma said and left Eli’s room.
FLASHBACK ENDS***
“I’m pretty sure they’re waiting for you at the drama club hall. Let’s get going” Zed said excitedly.
“I still have lectures I need to attend. I will do that when I’m done with my classes and it’s not my style to show people my excitement. I should make them curious about my personality and expression” Eli smirked and Zed shook his head with a smile.
“For a second I forgot who my friend was. We will go with your plan Eli. Anyways I have to rush back home, I haven’t catched enough sleep yet” Zed yawned and Eli shrugged.
“Being a Minister’s son must be so relaxing” Eli sighed and Zed placed his hand around Eli’s shoulders.
“Being the son of Jemma Chen the CEO of GG diamonds must be so refreshing so don’t even get jealous of me because I feel same way” Zed sighed and two beautiful girls walked pass them and Zed winked at Eli.
“Beauties in your department, don’t you think so. They look familiar” Zed gossiped.
“Tammy and Lilian, they’re best friends and beauties in my department like you said but who cares. They’re just pain on the ass, who cares if they’re beautiful. Their personality sucks, I have no idea why girls in my department are so annoying and very unreliable. I wish I would switch to some other department, the atmosphere here freaks me out” Eli whined.
“What don’t you like exactly? You’re pretty good with your grades. You’re genius in this field but why can’t you find yourself a girlfriend?…” Zed couldn’t finish what he was saying when a girl walked up to them.
“Eli can I have a minute please?” She asked politely and Eli snubbed her.
“Yes mum, what were you saying?” Eli pretended to be on call as he walked away and Zed followed him.
“That was cold dude”
“Who cares! By the way, mum is throwing a party for Josie so you shouldn’t miss it okay and don’t say anything to Josie, it’s a surprise party. Do you understand. See you later, I have to go to the library” Eli said and left immediately before Zed will say anything.
“Ahh!” Zed sighed tiredly as he watched Eli walk away.
“One would exactly think Eli and I aren’t besties”
LOST PASSION : CHAPTER 1-10
~~~ SEOUL HIGH SCHOOL**
Josie and her cousin Linda who’s her best friend as well, walked to their table in the lunchroom with their tray of food on their hands.
“Josie what’s wrong? You don’t look happy, are you that worried about the English test?” Linda asked calmly as they took their seats.
“Linda, that English test means a lot to me” Josie said anxiously and Linda smiled.
“Why worry so much, you’ve put your all in it and you’ve never failed English before and I believe you wouldn’t this time”
“I know but It’s different this time around… I have to pass that English test, I made a bet with grandpa” Josie said sadly.
“A bet? But grandpa went back to the States”
“Yeah, anyways it’s nothing. If I don’t get the highest score then I will just have to study harder next time” Josie sighed.
“Let’s eat” Josie reminded and they both dipped their chopsticks into their bowl of rice.
“Josie how do you manage to study so hard regardless of being the class captain. Isn’t it hard? And today’s your birthday, you should be excited about your birthday party after school” Linda reminded with a smile.
“You’re the assistant captain, isn’t it hard for you as well? And who cares about parties, I’ve got lots of test to prepare for. It’s a good thing mum, didn’t plan for one” Josie shrugged with her full attention on her food.
“Aunt didn’t plan for your birthday party? Josie are you sure you’re ok with that? Everyone in our class, throws a big party for their sweet 16, how can you not do same when you’re our captain”
“Linda it’s not what you think. Everyone in my family has a busy schedule and it’s not like my mum did it intentionally. She’s very occupied with work at the office”
“It must be so hard on Aunt, having to do all the heavy work at the office. It would have been nice if your Dad covered up for her a bit” Linda uttered with a frown.
“Looks like someone’s taking sides” Josie said jovially and Linda chuckled.
“It’s pretty obvious, I have to take my aunt’s side. She’s my mum’s sister after all” Linda pouted.
“To be honest, I was sad when Mum told me she doesn’t have any plans for it but it’s not like I can change anything so I should let things flow. Why bother being sad on my birthday” Josie said with a smile.
“You’ve got me and I wouldn’t let this day go by just like that. Trust me, I’ve got something in mind” Linda winked at Josie with a silly smile and just then Josie’s phone started ringing.
“It’s Eli calling” Josie said with a smile as she dropped her chopsticks and took the call.
“Josie when you’re done with your classes, can you give me a call. I want to take somewhere and Linda is tagging along as well so don’t fail to call me. I have to go now, I’ve got class. Bye” Eli said and hung up.
Josie smiled widely.
“I think bro got some plans as well” Josie said excitedly and Linda smiled widely.
LOST PASSION : CHAPTER 1-10
4:00 pm at the GG DIAMONDS BUILDING**
Jemma went to Caleb’s office but he wasn’t there.
“I need that flashdrive urgently but where went Caleb” Jemma uttered as she began to go through Caleb’s things on his desk.
She opened his drawer and went through his things but something caught her eyes.
What’s that? Jemma gasped in her head as she had a proper look at the pregnancy scan.
“Jemma why are you going through my things” Caleb cut in sharply as he ran to where she was standing.
“I was looking for the account’s details flash” Jemma said nervously.
“Here you go” Caleb said as he picked up the flash from the table.
“Thanks” Jemma said and walked to the door then turned around.
“Do you need something else?” Caleb asked nervously.
“Not really just make sure you don’t miss out on Josie’s birthday party” Jemma reminded and left the office.
“That was close” Caleb exhaled deeply as he brought out the pregnancy scan.
Jemma went back to her office, lost in thoughts.
“Boss, we need to get your signature on this agreement documents” Olivia said placing the files on the table.
Her phone started ringing.
“Hello, can’t you get anything done right? I need everything to be done perfectly. I just need to take care of things at the office and I would join you shortly” Jemma said over the phone as began to sign the documents quickly.
“Ma’am I would call you if we need to make new arrangements” The decor said over the phone.
“We’re not changing anything. We’re going with the decorations I selected, you’re professional in that field so do your job properly” Jemma said seriously and hung up with a hiss.
Jemma was done with the documents.
“Anything else?” Jemma asked hurriedly as she picked up her car keys and purse.
“No boss, that will be all”
“Alright then, I will take my leave now. I have to go prepare for Josie’s party. You’re invited Olivia” Jemma said with a smile then left her office as she ran to the elevator.
Jemma had a glance at her wristwatch when she got into the elevator.
She ran to the parking lot as she got out of the elevator.
Jemma wasn’t watching where she was running to so she got hit by a car that was heading out of the parking lot. Jemma fell to the ground roughly and hurt her arm.
“I’m sorry ma’am. Are you ok?” The person driving asked nervously as she was ran to Jemma.
Jemma winced in pain holding her right arm.
“Ma’am I think you twisted your elbow, we need to rush you to the hospital”
“I don’t have to. I can’t drive in this state so can you please drive me home, I need to check on the preparations” Jemma said as she struggled to stand up, holding her arm.
She winced silently as she felt so much pain.
“What about your arm?”
“I can call the doctor over to my house so don’t worry. Let’s hurry” Jemma cut in sharply as she got into the lady’s car.
