MAMA, I MADE IT!?
Episode 32.
Soon we were already on the road and I told Success what I and my mom discussed last night,
“I heard you both, he said.
“You did? I asked surprised and he nodded.
“Mommy can you continue from where you stopped if you don’t mind, let’s use that to keep ourselves company, he said to my mom and she nodded and began to stammer.
“Mommy Wait, you said when Purity father came to see you, she came out crying on him like you were really mad and you tried telling him something but the nurses there quickly injected you with something that made you slept off? He stopped my mom and asked and my mom nodded.
“And when you woke up the nurses and doctors were not friendly at all, they kept injecting you with drugs that made you act abnormal? I added and my mom nodded.
“Okay and then one day you got angry and grabbed one of nurse when she came to inject you and you injected her instead and fled from the hospital? Success asked and she nodded and I smiled.
“Now I know how you escaped from the hospital down here, it didn’t start today, I said playfully but my mom was not in the mood for jokes, she was so serious to tell us what happened.
“Okay what next? I asked her and she continued and Success looked at me when she stopped and I heaved and gave her water to drink.
“Did….did…you un…un..understand? She asked rejecting the water.
“I did mom but drink first and have your rest, I replied but she shook her head and I covered back the bottle water.
“Okay, when you escaped you hid somewhere from everyone, but then you couldn’t control yourself anymore and it wasn’t long people found you and dragged you home right?
I asked telling her back what she was trying to say because she wanted to be sure we understood her and she nodded.
“You were almost due by then and they couldn’t take you back to the hospital until you finally gave birth. And when you delivered, your friend came to take the baby away from you one night and that was when you seriously attacked her, Success said and she nodded.
“Now I understand why there’s a mark on her face and why she keeps telling me you almost killed her, was it you that gave her that wound?
I asked and my mom nodded and began to talk and it got me so angry.
“Dear calm down, slowly we are getting to the root of it, Success said and I slowly hugged my mom who was crying already.
“I guess she should stop talking for now, we will eat here its a good place, Success said and stopped and I cleaned my mom tears and came out to eat before we continue……….

Getting back to the car we were so quiet as I thought about what my mom was trying to explain to me.
Everything is making sense now and I saw the reason why my mom kept pointing at my step mom, no doubt she is the reason my mom is in this condition and the hit she gave my mom on her head after my mom attacked her made me feel like killing her already.
According to my mom, she returned with some boys who held my mom down and she gave my mom the beatings of her life, then she held my mom hair and drew her up,
“I warned you but you didn’t listen, you were proving stubborn forgetting i always get what I want. I will get Peter from you and you will watch me get married to him helplessly I promise you.
I cleaned my face feeling bad I made my mom suffered so much and I weakly looked at her,
“Maybe if I had died you wouldn’t have suffered this much, I slowly said to my mom and she looked at me shocked.
“Purity what are you saying? Don’t tell me you’re blaming yourself for what happened, Success said.
“You heard all she said right? What do think? I asked him.
“Yes I heard it all but I didn’t hear that part where she said you brought her pains and i think your step mom should be blamed here not you, he angrily said and my mom sadly touched me.
“You should know whether you were dead or alive, she would have still tortured your mom and I’m not sure your mom would have still be alive Purity today. You gave her hope to continue to live, she told me this once I visited her, Success continued and I tearfully placed my head on her shoulders.
“What do you think we should do with her? Has she also hurt my dad? I asked.
“Let’s not be too sure till we get there, he replied…….

When we finally arrived in the state my dad was, my mom was asleep and i called my dad number but it was still switched off.
“You can’t still reach him? Success asked.
“Yea, I don’t understand how seriously sick he is that no one can reach him, I replied.
“Who knows if his wife has found out we are coming, probably she was switched off his phone, he said.
“But at least the nurse was smart to tell us the address, it helped though, I said.
“Yea, we will soon be there, he said and I arranged my mom head properly.

Few minutes later we got there and I woke my mom up,
“We….. We there? My mom asked.
“Yea we are here, I replied and we came out and got in.
“Please I’m looking for a patient by name Peter, Success stopped a lady before I could stop him.
“Sorry I’m a student nurse, go ask him, she pointed at a man.
“Oh thank you, Success said and I smiled.
“I wanted telling you not to ask her but you already did, I said.
“What do I know? This is your area not mine, he said and we met with him.
“sorry Mr Peter was transferred this morning to another hospital, the man said when I asked about my dad.
“I don’t understand, why the sudden transfer? I spoke with him yesterday, I said.
“Yes his wife insisted we transfer him and we couldn’t stop her, he replied.
“Do you know the hospital he was transferred to? Success asked him.
“No idea, he replied.
“Please sir I’m his daughter and i really need to know, please where can I find him? I asked and he heaved.
“Meet me in my office,he said leading the way and we followed him.
“I didn’t want to talk to you when i heard the patient name, he has given us enough headache and I’m so happy he got transferred, the doctor said.
“What do you mean? I mean I don’t understand, I anxiously said.
‘What exactly is wrong with him? Success asked.
“Cancer, he replied.
“Has he been operated on? I asked.
“Look your father illness is very complicated and confusing and when we want to voice out his wife will command us shut. They showed us the Xray and everything to show he has cancer but we didn’t operate him, he replied.
“How did that happen? If you didn’t operate him then who did? I asked.
“Go ask your mother, i thought he’s your father? He asked and i closed my eyes controlling my temper.
“Step mom rather, Success replied.
“Very well, but i think this conversation is over because I sound stupid right now and this story doesn’t make sense, and people may think we don’t know what we are doing here.
Please go look for him and i wish he recovers, the doctor said and stood up as a sign of we have overstayed our welcome.
“Thank you sir, Success said and he nodded.
“You know I’ll come back because i am not satisfied with what you just said right now, I said to him.
“And what do you know? He asked.
“I am a doctor and i know what I’m saying! You just spoke like a roadside man that can be pushed around by just anybody, you’re unprofessional! I shouted and Success held me.
“Leave my office now! The doctor shouted.
“I will, but if i dare find out you hurt my dad in anyway I will find you, I sternly said and Success dragged me away.
I was sweating profusely as we stood outside not knowing where to go next and my mom was just quiet looking at us.
“Anger won’t solve the situation now, what are we going to do now? Success asked.
“What can we do? You heard him yourself, he doesn’t even know where his patient was transferred to, very stupid! I shouted and a nurse approached us.
“Sorry is there a problem? She asked but I ignored her.
“Yes, a patient was transferred here to another hospital this morning and we don’t know the hospital he was taken to, Success replied.
“Mr Peter? She whispered and I became interested,
“Yes,do you know where he was taken to? i asked and she behaved like she didn’t want anybody to hear her
“That patient condition is so confusing and no one can explain, but there is a nurse that constantly attend to him,but i over heard his wife asking her questions about her husband in a tone that seemed good.
And just yesterday I was attending to a patient just opposite her room and I heard a sound like something fell.
I came out and heard his wife voice very audible but I couldn’t understand what she was talking about, i wanted going back but she snatched a phone from the nurse hand, took out the Sim and destroyed it, the nurse narrated and I began to scratch my head,
“This is making sense, I said pacing around slowly.
“Thank you, so you don’t know where he was taken to? Success asked and she shook Her head.
“How can i see this nurse? I asked.
“She’s not on duty today, she replied..
“Its alright, thanks again, he said and she hurriedly left us.
I got into the car immediately and success drove us to a hotel, but my mind was very far. I began to imagine my dad state of health and prayed nothing bad should happen to him.
I was not ready to lose him yet and i began to feel bad I was kind of wrong to be angry with him when my dad is equally a victim of my devilish step mother.
She had great influence on him and now i understand better.
Success walked in and sat beside me,
“I got the locations of all the hospitals around, we will go check them out later but for now let’s rest okay, he said.
“What if he’s not in the state? She got to we talked on phone and I don’t understand why he’s keeping my dad away from me, i said and he touched me.
“Its alright, let’s hope we find him, he said and gave me a peck………
