MAMA, I MADE IT!?
Episode 35.

I was anxious as I held my dad hands tight as the police man drove, his breathing was getting weak and his eyes so pale.
“Dad, dad can you hear me? I asked but he couldn’t reply.
I opened his shirt and saw the stitches were partly loosed and soaked with blood.
“Dad! Dad common nothing will happen to you okay, just hold on for me! I shouted touching his cheeks and tearfully looked at my mom who was still very quiet.
“We are here, the police man said and branched into the hospital, while I left the car quickly to find the doctor.
I met him and held his hand,
“We found him doctor, please he needs medical attention immediately! I cried and he called on the nurses quickly to roll him to the room.
He was rolled in immediately and as the doctor wanted going in I held him,
“Sir please can I join you in treating my dad? I asked.
“Are you a doctor? He asked and I nodded.
“Okay fine we will do it together, he replied and I was so happy.
My dad wounds was stitched back and we noticed he was always injected by the nurse to stop him from getting better.
The constant pains and bleeding made him deteriorate daily and I wondered what my step mom will gain from this,
“You need to get that woman arrested, or is she arrested already? The doctor asked after we tried our best to make my dad stable but he was unconscious.
“The police took her, I replied.
“Is not just by taking her, she need to be punished, she almost killed your father, he said.
“I know sir and I wasn’t planning to get her out of there soon, there’s a lot she need to say to us and I want to hear it all, I said and he nodded.
“That’s Better, I need to attend to someone now, he said.
“Thank you doctor, the bills please, I said.
“Don’t worry the nurse will attend to you, he replied and hurried off while I heaved looking at my dad in a bad condition and decided to call Success to know what’s going on there.
His phone rang twice and there was no reply,
“What’s going on? I asked myself and dialed it again and it was answered,
“Dear what’s going on there? I asked.
“Who is speaking? Was what I heard from a strange voice.
“Who’s speaking? What are you doing with his phone when I just left him minutes ago with the police! I shouted in a way that made my mom stood up to know what happened.
“Oh you be the girl there? Something happened o, you fit come hospital now? He asked.
“What happened? And which hospital? I asked and he called it out for me.
“Mom I need to go now, stay with dad, I said and hurried off.
I got there and saw 2 police men outside,
“Where’s my boyfriend? I asked almost holding their uniform.
“Calm down he’s not that bad, one replied.
“What exactly happened and where is he! I shouted.
“As we were driving, your boyfriend was sitting behind with that madam, but I don’t know what happened o because I was in front. We just hear as your boyfriend shout and we turn back see your step mom with knife on top of his chest. Na so we stop car to collect knife from your step mom o, but she don pin the knife well inside am so we carry am come here, doctor dey attend to am, another replied and shocks went through my body.
“She used a knife on my boyfriend despite being with a handcuff and you were sitting in front leaving my boyfriend at the back with them? I asked.
“Wait o, na me fit for her to chuck ba? One of them asked and I bashed into the hospital to look for Success.
I asked the nurses there and they told me he’s still inside with the doctor,
“I want to go in, I said.
“No you can’t just wait here, one of them stopped me and I felt like bringing down the hospital.
My blood was so hot and I marched out meeting the police men again,
“Where is that wtch? I asked
“She dey station, one replied.
“Where’s the place? I asked but they were reluctant to tell me.
“You mean I shouldn’t go to the station? I asked again and they slowly told me the address and I left immediately.
I got in there and saw them sitting in by the corner, and she was talking to a police man I didn’t care to listen, I just held her up with my fist folded on the other palm, I released it on her face and felt like strangling her as the police men quickly held me.
“Leave me alone! How dare you! I shouted struggling with the police men.
“You don’t do that here, a police man said.
“Why is she not yet in prison after all she has done to my family? She made my mother mad, almost killed my dad and now its my boyfriend in the hospital but yet you gave her a comfortable seat to sit down why! I shouted and a man walked in which they quickly saluted him and I knew he must be the big man there.
I just poured out everything to him like a running water until I was done, but he was just quiet looking at me,
“Did you get me at all? I asked.
“Yea ma’am, that’s why I came because I heard there’s a case here, don’t worry we will handle it, take her in, the man commanded and the men there raised my step mom and sister up.
“I need my lawyer! She shouted.
“Sure it won’t just stop here anyway, you will pay for this! I shouted on her.
“I will get out of here trust me! She shouted back before she was out of sight and I rubbed my forehead controlling my tears.
“How is your boyfriend and Father condition now? The man asked.
“My dad is unconscious and I couldn’t see my boyfriend, she’s so devilish, I replied and sniffed.
“Don’t worry and sorry about everything, he said tapping me……………

I returned back to the hospital and I was allowed to see Success, I slowly walked in and saw him with no shirt on with a bandage,
“Baby, he weakly said and I held his hand.
‘How could no one saw the knife with her? I asked sitting beside him as he laid,
“I don’t know and it happened so fast, I’m sure she’s so frustrated and she’s just pouring it all knowing she won’t go free after all, he replied.
“What if it was in a bad place? I asked tearfully.
“Ssshhh don’t say that, look I’m fine okay, its just a wound, he said.
“Just a wound I wasn’t allowed to go in huh? I asked back and he cleaned my face.
“How is your dad? He asked.
“Unconscious, I’m trying how to be cope with my Dad situation now its you, I’m so tired, I said.
“Darling I told you I’m fine and you shouldn’t word too much, besides I’m not planning to stay here for long because I and your step mom has unfinished business to do, he said.
“I spoke with the big man and he promised to give her a very good place but she’s shouting to have a lawyer, I said and he shook his head.
“I know but your step mom is tricky and gat the cash, she can manipulate her way out in buying the policemen for her favour, i need to be there to run things there myself, he said.
“Its true though and the policemen in question are so annoying and look desperate to me, i said.
“That’s it, with money anyone can do anything now and I don’t want to give them that chance, he said.
” But you’re not strong, just tell me what I need to do and I’ll do it, I said and he heaved.
“Tomorrow I am leaving here, trust me I’m fine, its just a stitched wound and I can manage. Don’t forget I have been stitched before and I have you as a doctor to take Care of me, he insisted and I heaved.
“Dear look, we really need to be smart else she will outsmart us, you should know her more than i do, he said and i nodded knowing there’s nothing I will say that will stop him.
“Okay if you insist, are you feeling pains? I asked touching him.
“Uhmmm yea, though it’s just sad its a woman doing this to me. That pains is premium when I remember a woman beating me to plum, I think i have to enroll in man o war, he replied and I laughed hard at him.
“Okay I wanted to see that smile again, he said.
“And you got it, you know i was so scared, i said.
“But i wasn’t, I know Success can’t die after waiting 6+ for a girl that just accepted me, tah God no gree, Success said and I burst out laughing begging him to stop…………….

Success insisted i should go see my mom i left with my dad knowing she will get worried about me. I made sure I made him eat and promised to come back the next day, and on the way Charity called again which I’ve been ignoring her calls because of how busy i was. I picked up we talked so lengthy till I got to the hospital.
I met with a nurse when I got in and she spoke with me like I was a Doctor there and I got to know the doctor gave me the permission to treat my father as a patient, and just immediately an accident victim was rushed in and I quickly got set to safe live forgetting I don’t even work there.
The bleeding on his head was massive, and funny enough there was no doctor around but only student doctors who were confuse on what to do.
I was able to stop the bleeding and handed over the patient to them, but i informed them on what to do because I need to check on my dad.
I opened his room and saw my mom pitifully looking at him and she saw me,
“sorry mommy I had a busy day, I quickly apologized and she nodded.
“Oh God you must be hungry, I’ll go get you food when I’m done with dad okay, please forgive me, I said to her.
“It…..OK, she said.
“Thanks mom, I said giving her a peck and stood facing my dad whose eyes were still close…………

That evening my mom refused going to the hotel and we decided to stay with dad for the night which I told my mom what happened over there in the station.
But I noticed my mom was too quiet even though she has always been quiet when she started getting treatment.
“Mom you’re too quiet, or are you sad because of dad? I asked and she looked at me and i sat up,
“Tell me mommy, if daddy gets better and all this over, is there any chance you two can be together? I asked and she shook her head talking.
“Mom don’t tell me that, I read you both letters and you were truly in love with……. “St…stop! My mom cut in and I swallowed.
“Sorry mom, i said when she looked angry.
“Goodnight, I said but she didn’t reply me and I slowly kept my head on her laps……….
