?Elizabeth pov?
“Am I interrupting something?”
Immediately after hearing that voice I quickly moved away from Charles trying to wipe the kss away. I knew this was not going to end well.
“Mom, what are you guys doing here?” I said stunned by her approach.
“The real question is what were you two doing.” She said with an eyebrow raised.
She had her hands folded against her chest staring at the two of us.
“Anyways I just came to pick you up Elizabeth since your wedding is tomorrow.”She said
‘Oh’ I mouthed to myself in realization.
“Exactly,” she said in a matter of factly tone.
?Next day?
I stared into space as the wind blow me futher into my thought’s.
I thought of how my life had suddenly changed. I never imagined that I would be getting married at such a young age. Marriage was never really apart of my plan, it was just always something that would happen eventually.
It was already in the morning and everyone was busy running around because the wedding was about to start. The wedding was being held out in the opening near my grandmother’s beach house.
The last time my grandmother came to visit she only stayed for two days, she said she would never come back again all because of some argument she had with my mom. That was two years ago. Last night after I left Charles house she was already there. She kept on asking me if my mom had anything to do with this marriage because she might have noticed I wasn’t too happy, but of cause, I had to lie to her because I didn’t want any more problems between her and my mom. That is if she is still my mother.
I watched my mom make an entire speech based on lies, say how close we are. My mom and I were never close, I was much closer to my dad than her.
They had outdone themselves, the decorations were absolutely stunning. The tree’s near the tables were covered in small little white lights that were absolutely breathtaking. White little rose petals were spread all over the aisle. If I wasn’t being forced into this marriage I might actually be happy.
After an announcement was made that the weddings would soon be started the guests made their way to the chairs where the wedding vows would be taking place. The chairs were packed in roles on both sides of the aisle.
“Ellie, you are not even done and the wedding is about to start!” Mary exclaimed.
“I am, I just need to put on my shoes.”
“You should have done that a long time ago.”
“I would but this dress is so long that I can’t even find my foot.”
She then began helping me with my shoes. I love her so much, she is like a sister I never had. Without her, my life would be a mess. I’m so glad she is alright and all her injuries are over.
“I’m so nervous,” I said shaking my hands.
“It will be alright, I’ll be there watching you making sure you don’t do anything stupid. Besides, who wouldn’t wanna marry Charles Greene.” She said giving me a wink.
“Daddy, I don’t think I can do this.”i said.
“Yes, you can my little angel. Now, we don’t wanna keep the guests waiting do we.”
I took my dad’s hand as he escorted me down the death road. Everyone stood up from their seats as my dad and I talked down the aisle as the music played. Everyone seemed so happy giving me their warm smiles. If only they knew who I truly felt I thought to myself.
Up ahead Charles stood taller with his shoulders back and his eyes were surprisingly on me. This made me even more nervous than I already was.
“It’s okay sweetheart, I’m right here for you.” He whispered in my ear. He must have felt my hands shaking.
As we get to the altar my dad placed my hand into Charles’s larger ones before patting him on the back followed by a look of sympathy.
“You may now be seated. Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to witness this man and woman join together in holy matrimony.”
I then turned around to see if there was any way I could run without anyone catching up to me when I saw my mom giving me one of her “don’t you dare blow it” glare.
“I, Elizabeth Ember Jane, take you, Charles Nathan Greene, to be my lawfully wedded husband, my constant friend, my faithful partner and my love from this day forward. In the presence of our family and friends, I offer you my solemn vow to be your faithful partner in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad and in joy as well as in sorrow. I promise to love you unconditionally, to support you in your goals, to honour and respect you, to laugh with you and cry with you, and to cherish you for as long as we both shall live.”

“”Anyone who is not in support of this holy matrimony should speak now or forever hold your peace”.
“I object!”
