Chapter 58
Alexander stared at them and scoffed.
She has always liked Evelyn, but he didn’t get a chance to tell her, and seeing her together with Martin is infuriating her.
“Mr. Martin, I appreciate you being here today,” Mr. Tom said, bringing everyone back to reality. Martin just rolled his eyes.
The only reason he is here is that he is trying to sign a deal. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be here.
Evelyn took out a notepad and started jotting down some things, as did the other ladies. They were their secretaries.
Mr. Tom took a remote and pressed a button, and almost immediately, the TV displayed.
“It is the 30th anniversary of building my company and achieving success, so I have invited all of you to come celebrate with me,” he said. Everyone clapped, but Martin, as always, didn’t bother.
“Hmmmm, Martin, I think I need to use the restroom,” Evelyn said, and Martin nodded, standing up. “Let’s go together.”
“Seriously, Martin, I am just going to use the restroom,” she said, and Martin sighed before sitting back in the chair.
He really wanted to go with her, but if she feels uncomfortable, he is not going to force her.
“Okay,” he simply replied, and Evelyn walked out.
She washed her face before coming out, only to come face to face with Alex.
“Oh, Alexander?” she called with a smile.
“You look so pretty, Eve,” he complimented.
“Thank you, Alex,” she replied and tried to walk away, but Alex dragged her back.
“Do you really have to be with Martin? Do you love him that much?”
“What the h’ll are you saying?” Evelyn chuckled.
“Evelyn, that guy is dangerous for you,” Alexander said, and Evelyn scoffed.
He was starting to get on her nerves.
“Do you, by any chance, have feelings for me?” he asked, staring at her suspiciously, and he sighed.
“Yeah, he is dangerous, but he is trying to change for me,” she smiled and tried to walk past him, but Alexander dragged her back and kssed her, making her eyes widen. She quickly pushed him off.
“Get away from me! How dare you?” she yelled and pushed him off.
“Woah,” someone clapped, coming towards them. They both turned around, only to see Martin staring at them, probably Alexander, with a dangerous smile.
“Martin… it is not what you think,” Evelyn stuttered nervously, walking towards him, but she didn’t dare hold her hands.
She was dmn scared when he was angry.
“You have the guts to kiss my fiancée, huh?” he questioned, taking a dangerous step towards him while Alexander just kept glaring at him, trying to sound bold, but deep down, he was dmn afraid.
“Martin, please don’t do anything…” Evelyn tried to say.
“Evelyn, fking shut your mouth up,” he yelled angrily, and Evelyn immediately fell silent.
Truly, what Alexander did was wrong, but she was so scared he was going to do something harsh.
Just as she was thinking, a bIow landed on Alexander’s face, sending him to the ground…
