Chapter 60
Evelyn rushed inside the apartment in tears. She couldn’t stop crying.
The words Martin said to her had hurt her so much, and she couldn’t bear the fact that Martin was the one who said those words to her.
She sat down on the chair in the living room and poured out her tears, crying loudly.
It hadn’t even been a month, and they had already started quarreling.
Martin might be right. She didn’t support him, but she didn’t like the fact that Martin had to beat Alexander up.
“Why did Alex have to be there?” she muttered, crying.
Haris walked out of the kitchen with a glass of water, and he frowned immediately when he saw Evelyn crying. He quickly rushed toward her.
“Are you okay, bestie?” he asked worriedly, and Evelyn just hugged him tightly.
“We had a fight,” she muttered, crying on his chest, and Haris hugged her tightly.
He hated seeing her best friend cry. Most people might think he had feelings for her, but nope, he didn’t.
His love for her was that of friendship, and every best friend hates to see their friends cry.
“What happened?” he asked, but she couldn’t reply as she kept on crying.
“Come on, Evelyn, talk to me. What happened?” he asked again, but she still couldn’t answer him.
He sighed and made her lie on the couch.
He would have taken her upstairs, but he didn’t want Ava to worry so much. At her young age, she worried a lot.
After making sure Evelyn had fallen asleep, he walked towards the kitchen and dialed Martin’s number.

Martin sighed immediately he saw the name and he picked up.
He was still inside the car.
“What the h’ll is going on with you and Evelyn?” Haris yelled as soon as he picked up the call, and Martin just sighed, refusing to answer him.
“Seriously, Martin, answer me. Evelyn came home crying, and one thing I hate the most is seeing my best friend in tears.
So I would like to know what happened between you and Evelyn,” Haris said, but Martin couldn’t answer him.
He didn’t even know how to explain it.
“It’s kind of complicated,” Martin replied, and Haris just scoffed.
“Complicated? I don’t want to know what happened between you guys anymore, but find a way to settle this dispute,” Haris said and ended the call.
“Sir, we are here,” the driver said, and one of the guards quickly opened the door while Martin stepped out majestically.
He entered the compound, and the maids bowed down. They could tell he was damn angry just by looking at him.
As he walked into the living room, he huffed immediately when he saw Cole and Charlotte, who were watching TV.
“Welcome, Martin,” they both greeted, but he just ignored them and walked upstairs.
They both stared at each other, confused, wondering what was wrong.

“Dmn it,” he shouted as he entered his room, throwing his suit to the ground.
He didn’t mean to say those words to Evelyn, but he was really angry that he couldn’t even think straight.

“Dmn you, Alexander,” he yelled, as soon as Martin saw him, his eyes softened a little, but he was still dmn angry and in need of solitude.
“Cole, can you please leave? I want to be alone,” he said, giving his best friend a fake smile, but Cole just scoffed.

Cole rolled his eyes and handed a book to him.
“What is this?” Martin asked as he gently took the book from Cole.
