Oh my God! Was this some kind of pvnishment? But what have I done to deserve it? What could my offense be? Who did I wrong?
All I wanted was to live a simple life – go to school, get married and fulfill my dreams.
But here I am, pregnant for two strange people in a strange land and now being asked to give her v**gnty away to God knows who.
What sort of life is this? What have I done to deserve this, huh?
“Zoey?” I heard Zosar knock on the door and my tears only increased.
“Zoey, are you in?”
“I want to be alone…please” I whimpered, still holding the table.
Immediately, I heard the door open and turned to see him coming in.
What? How did he?
I thought I locked the door? How was he able to open it?
“Zoey…” He called softly and drew closer.
“I’m sorry”.
I didn’t know what to say and just continued weeping and slowly, he pulled me close and hugged me, still apologizing.

Oh, Naunet!
When I was done, I stood upright and leaned against the wall, my hand on my tummy. What the hell have I done? What have I done?
I can’t believe I’m pregnant.
Oh, saviors!!
“Naunet!!” Mother came calling after me.
No, no; please, don’t tell me.
“Naunet” she called and finally got to where I was.
“What’s wrong?” She asked, her right hand on her waist.
“I’m…I’m fine. What’re you talking about?” I tried to pretend, wiping my lips with the back of my palm.
“What do you mean you’re fine? I saw you throwing up from the window.
What’s wrong with you?” She asked inquisitively and it was obvious she was already being suspicious.
“Nothing is wrong with me, mother. I’m fine, please” I said and tried walking away, but she pulled me back.
“You think I haven’t noticed? You’ve been getting fat lately and eating a lot as well.
And I can’t recall the last time I saw a bI.oodstain anywhere like it normally happens when you’re on your monthly flow”.
She smirked and came closer.
“Tell me the truth, Naunet; you’re pregnant”. She said in a whisper.
My heart skipped as I quickly lowered my gaze to the floor.
“Answer me!!!” She yelled and I shook in fear.
“Y…Yes” I stuttered unconsciously and she gasped.
For a moment, her eyes looked fierce.
“Who’s responsible?” She asked and my lips shook for words.
“Naunet, you better don’t keep me silent”.
“Its…Its Asim” I replied and the anger in her eyes became more pronounced.
“What?” She flinched.
“Asim?”
“Y…Yes, mother. He’s the father of the child. I’m sorry”I said pathetically and she lifted her hand in anger to sI.ap me, but suddenly stopped.
“When was the last time you slept with the prince?” She asked, making me perplexed.
Why’s she asking??
“I…it’s…” I stuttered, trying to recall.
“It was two months back, before he got to know Hathor was pregnant for him. We…had multiple sx back then” I said anxiously and to my greatest surprise, she smiled.
“During your time with him, did he ever use protection on you?” She asked and I shook my head and her face beamed.
What?
“Oh, Naunet!!” She exclaimed and laughed.
“Oh, good saviors!!! Naunet!!” She laughed again.
What’s going on? I was overly confused.
“You’re pregnant! My daughter’s pregnant! You’re pregnant for the prince!!”
“Mother!” I called immediately.
“Wh…What’re you talking about? Asim is the father of the child. I’m sure of it”
“Keep shut, Naunet” she snapped and pointed her index finger at me.
“If you don’t want to get into trouble with me, you’ll do exactly as I say and right now, I want you to understand that the prince is the father of this child.
You’re pinning this pregnancy on him”. She said emphatically, leaving me in shock.
