Episode 29
As soon as he left, I bowed my head and wept.
What kind of situation have I gotten into? Why does this have to happen to me, huh?
I lay on the bed to see if I could get some sleep, and a sharp pain h!t me in the abdomen.
“Hahhh!” I gasped and held my stomach tightly, and after a few seconds, it subsided.
What on earth was that? Why the strange cramps?
Suddenly, my mind reflected on what the healer had said…

Zosar’s Perspective:
I walked wearily into the room and lay on the bed, staring up at the ceiling.
Gosh! For the first time in a long time, I felt guilty and sorry for someone. I felt so sorry for the pains she was going through.
Zoey-
She’s too young and pretty for all that – pregnant with someone else’s child and now being asked to have intercourse. How is she going to cope?
I mean…she’s kept herself a vrgin all these years, how will she cope with the fact of losing it now for something that doesn’t even concern her?
Phew!
I let out a deep sigh.
I genuinely felt so much pity for her.
Shortly, I heard a knock on the door and sat up.
“Who is it?” I asked, feeling disturbed.
“My prince, I’m sorry for the inconvenience, but the King requests your presence in the throne room,” the guard replied, making me grumble.
Why does he want to see me?
“Fine,” I muttered and left the bed, exiting the room.
I inserted my hands in my trouser pockets as I approached the throne room and sincerely hoped whatever father had to say wouldn’t take much time. I really wanted to be alone.
The guards at the entrance bowed as I walked in, and there I saw father, mother, and…a woman – with Naunet.
I puzzled over the strange appearances as I walked in and stopped in front of the throne.
I looked at Naunet, but her eyes were fixed on the floor. And the woman beside her – had a peculiar expression.
I brushed off the thoughts and turned to my father.
“Father, you sent for me,” I said calmly, and he adjusted in his seat.
Mother was standing beside him, looking so bitter.
“Zosar,” father called.
“Do you know this lady over here?”
He pointed at Naunet, and I turned slightly to look at her.
“Yes – she works as a maid, right?” I replied, trying to figure out what was happening.
“Good. What’s your relationship with her?” He asked, and I couldn’t help but scoff.
“Um – sorry to ask, father, but why the questions?” I inquired.
“Because this lady over here – claims to be pregnant with your child,” he replied, and I flinched.

Zosar’s Perspective:
I flinched and glanced at Naunet. What on earth is she talking about?
She’s…pregnant? With my child?
What the h’ll?
“Is that true?” Father asked, leaving me even more bewildered.
“I…” I paused and scoffed.
“I have no knowledge of it.”
“Well, my prince,” the woman beside her calmly spoke.
“You wouldn’t know about it since we just found out today.
My daughter informed me that the two of you have had multiple encounters in the past few months, and this is the result.”
“Well, that’s absurd!” I snarled.
“I made it clear to her that I didn’t want her to get pregnant for me.”
“Did you use protection during your encounters with her?” Father asked, and I sighed despondently.
“No,” I replied firmly.
“So, what are you talking about? Obviously, she’s carrying your child!”
I glared at Naunet, anger consuming me.
That woman!
“My King,” the woman addressed with a bow, facing the throne.
“I apologize for the inconvenience.
However, it appears to be a mistake on the part of our children, and we must face it. I cannot let my daughter become a subject of ridicule.
