EPISODE NINETEEN
Brian?
I looked into her eyes and asked back,“ Why didn’t you tell me about your kleptomania issue?”
She looked stunned,“What…How…When.” She couldn’t even form a complete statement. I sighed and told her how I came to know about it.
Flashback
I left the car, walked towards Mrs Helen and noticed the small paper bag she was holding. “Ma, I apologise for shouting at you earlier. Thank you for taking care of Ivy all this while,” I said bowing a little.
She smiled and hugged me tightly. “Okay, I’ll leave now. We will surely come back to visit you whenever Ivy is well again,” I said as I took my leave. But she held me back and handed over the paper bag to me.
“Take this. I don’t want Ivy to forget her medicine again so she won’t have migraine,” she said. I shook my head and said,“Don’t worry about this medicine. I’ll get my doctor to check her when we get home. He’ll prescribe medicines for her.”
“No… This medicine is not for her injury. It’s for her…,” she stopped and looked reluctant. “Ivy will be so mad at me. I shouldn’t be the one telling you this.” I held her hand,“ You have to tell me. This has to do with my wife’s wellbeing.”
“This medicine is for…for her kleptomania,” she finally said and I stared at her in shock. Kleptomania… My wife is a Klepto.
*End Of Flashback*
“Why didn’t you tell me? I could have been able to at least help you in anyway,” I said quietly struggling to keep the anger in me. I don’t even know why I’m angry? I guess she doesn’t trust me enough to tell me personal things.
“Brian…” she tried to say something. But I cut her off,“Sssh don’t say anything. You have to focus on getting better.” She looked at me and tried to say,“But Brian…”
“Don’t say anything. Just relax okay,” I said and forced a smile.
Then I cuddled her and pecked her on the nose.“ Just go to sleep.” I could see her eyes filling up with tears,“Don’t cry. It hurts to see you cry. Just go to sleep. I’ll wake you up when we get home.”
I rocked her slowly until she finally fell asleep. She was mumbling something in her sleep so I put my ears close to her. She’s whispering, ‘ Sorry’ over and over again. I sighed. I still can’t help but feel hurt. If Mrs Helen never told me, would she have ever told me?

Ivy?
I yawned as I slowly opened my eyes. I closed it back as the harsh sun rays stung myself. It’s morning already and he promised to wake me up when we get home. Liar. I suddenly sat up remembering all that had happened yesterday. I bit my fingers nervously.
He must be so mad at me. Gosh! What do I do? I looked at the other side of the bed but he’s not there. I touched that side but it’s completely cold. It means he got up from bed early or he never slept here.
I sighed and put my head on my knees. I didn’t mean hurt him but I always end up hurting him. I looked up when the bedroom door opened.
I was surprised to see Brian coming in holding a filled tray. He smiled seeing I was awake and hurriedly brought the tray to the bedside drawer.
He sat on the bed and asked,“How do you feel now? Does your head still hurt?.” I shook my head negatively and looked at the tray. He quickly carried the plate of soup and start to feed me. I smiled, “ I thought you were allergic to the kitchen. How did you prepare all these?,” I asked baffled.
“Well, I had to call the maid to come help me when I almost burnt the kitchen,” he replied the tip of his ears turned pink as he blushed in embarrassment. I laughed and immediately stopped when my head start aching.
He handed a cup of water to me,“Don’t laugh so hard. You still haven’t recovered yet.” I suddenly felt my eyes filling with tears. I held his hands and pecked it. “Why are you being so nice to me?,” I asked. I’ve only ever relied on Mrs Helen all my life. Didn’t have any one else to rely on as I had to constantly watch out for Marie and her mother.
He smiled and wiped off my tears,“ You know I was so hurt yesterday that you didn’t trust me well enough to tell me personal things. But I can’t stand watching you in pain and when you cry, it hurts alot. Please stop crying.”
“I’m sorry. It won’t happen again. I was just so scared of what would happen when you find out that your wife is a Klepto. It won’t happen again,” I said. He smiled and kissed me,“My wife is Klepto and…” I didn’t hear the rest cause he said it quietly.
He brought out my phone and showed me lines of messages. All of them saying,“I’m sorry.” I looked at the sender and saw Marie. I chuckled. Did she even sleep at all.
“Have you forgiven her?,” he asked me and I nodded ‘yes’. “I won’t forgive her. She still has to pay for what she has done,” Brian said and I tried to protest but he immediately shoved a spoonful of soup into my mouth. “Sssh eat your food quietly. You are too noisy.”

Tonia looked around cautiously before entering her room and locking the door. She then went into the bathroom and called someone.
?Hey honey, when are you going to come home? Your daughter has been missing you alot- Unknown
?I don’t have the time right now. That fool Tony has lost his company to his daughter. What do we do now?-Tonia
?Tonia are you serious right now? We killed that woman all for nothing. I already told you to convince Tony to give you and that your bastard daughter some of the shares. But you let this happen- Unknown
?My daughter completely takes after her father. She’s a fool just like him. If she had agreed to marry Brian, this wouldn’t have happened- Tonia
? Don’t test my patience Tonia. I didn’t let you give birth for that fool just to let this happen. And she rejected Brian of all people. We could have gotten more fortune from him- Unknown
?I don’t know what to do anymore. Brian even seems to falling in love with that girl. I don’t understand, the bch is dead and her daughter is following her footsteps always stepping in our way-Tonia
?Tonia if you don’t find a way to clear this mess, we will have to send that girl to where we sent her mother. Come home soon- Unknown.
Tonia cut the call and looked at her reflection in the mirror.
