EPISODE 20

Aileen rushed towards Yana, she doesn’t care what could happen to her, all she thinks was to get Yana before the car could hit her.

Kira stepped back with her eyes wide opened when she realized that the car is heading towards her.

“Gasp!”

Kira gasped as the car run past her, and it was just an inch away from her body! The wind that was created by the car made Kira’s hair flipped.

The next thing Kira heard is a loud sound indicating that someone was hit by the car!

‘Yana!’ Kira instantly turned her head ahead of her, but her eyes went wide opened when she saw the flying body of a woman. It was her mother-in-law.

Kira’s eyes went wide opened! She was shocked, she felt like her body was paralyzed which made her not able to move it.

Kira saw how Aileen’s body slumped on the cement ground, and bIood instantly flooded around her body.

Kira slumped on the ground, she felt like she had lost all her strength.

This event made her remember the traumatic incident of her younger life.

“Waah!” Kira heard Yana’s cry which made her snapped back to her senses! She looked around and found Yana lying on the side of the road and there’s bIood on her face.

“Yana!” Kira forced her self to get up and ran to her daughter.

The people around screamed when they saw what had just happened. Some of them tried to stop the car, but the driver seemed not to see anything for it did not stop.

Tim, on the other hand, stood on the side of the road with his stunned expression. He saw how his mother pushed Yana to save her and he saw how the car hit his mother.

“Somebody called for an ambulance!” One of the onlookers shouted.

“Mom!” Tim ran towards his mother as soon as he snapped back to his senses. He crouched on the ground, “Mom!” he called but Aileen wasn’t responsive.

“No!” Tim cried in a trembling voice, his entire body was shaking. He doesn’t know what to do! His mother was lying in her bIood!.

Kira embraced Yana as soon as she reached her. She can feel Yana’s trembling body.

“Mommy!” Yana cried. There are scratches in her arms and legs.

“Baby, are you alright? Are you hurt?!” Kira asked, but Yana just continued to cry.

“Granny…” Yana said while looking to the other direction on the road.

Kira followed her daughter’s gaze, she then carried Yana and took big strides towards Aileen, who was lying on the ground with her eyes closed.

“Mother-in-law” Kira blurted out!

The ambulance and the authority arrived after a few minutes. Fortunately, there was a concerned onlooker called for an ambulance and the authority.

“Excuse me, let us pass!” The first aider said to the people gathered around Aileen.

The people around made a way for the first aider.

In the hospital,

“Mom, please come back to us!” Tim said as he helped to push the bed sketcher towards the operating room.

‘He is not yet ready to lose his mother again. They had just met after a long time.

“I’m sorry sir, but you can’t get inside, sir,” One of the assisting nurses said.

Tim doesn’t have a choice but to stopped and all he could do is to watch as the nurses closed the door of the operating room.

Kira and Yana followed Tim in the operating room after the nurses cleaned and applied medicine to Yana’s wounds.

Kira stopped in her track when she saw Tim sitting in the waiting chair with his face buried on his palms.

Kira walked towards Tim with Yana.

“Tim?” Kira called.

Tim slowly looked up, “Hey,” He greeted in a faint voice, he then looked at his daughter, “How’s my baby?” he asked.

“She underwent tests and the doctor said that she’s fine.” Kira replied, “But I think she was traumatized of what happened.” Kira added.

Tim pressed his lips, he pulled Yana into his embrace.

“How about mother?” Kira asked after a while.

Tim released Yana, he let her seat beside him.

“She has a severe injury in her body and a fracture in her head and had undergone surgery,” Tim replied.

Tim sighs!
“This is all my fault,” He said in regret.

“This wouldn’t have happened if I paid attention to Yana,” Tim’s voice cracked.

Kira sat on the other side of Tim, he stroked his back and tried to console him, “Don’t blame yourself, Tim. No one wants this to happen,” She said.

Tim just shook his head.

It’s been a few hours but the surgery is not yet done. Tim called Coby to fetch Yana and Kira in the hospital and send them home.
The police followed them to the hospital.

“Good evening Mr. Tan,”
Tim looked up at the person who greeted him, It was a man in a police uniform.

“We are the officers who investigated the accident this afternoon.” The office said.

“Oh,” Tim blurted out.
“Have you located the culprit?” He asked.

The officers looked at each other.

“Mr. Tan, we are here to tell you an important thing,” The officer said.

Tim knitted his brows.

“The witnesses were able to get the car’s plate number, but we couldn’t find any record of the plate number, it wasn’t registered.” The officer said.

“What?!”

“Yes, Mr. Tan, and we tried to review the CCTV footages of the nearest stablishments of the scene, but we found something suspicious,”

“What do you mean?” Tim asked.

“The car arrived in the place ten minutes earlier than your arrival Mr. Tan.” The officer showed the footage to Tim on his phone. “The car parked a few meters away from the school gate, but nobody got off from it.”

Tim was silent as he watched the Footage.

“After a few minutes, the driver drove it again and left his parking, but it did not leave the place, it just stayed on the side of the road. We notice something suspicious about this car,” The police officer said as he pointed the car on the screen.

“He was running in a full-speed which is not allowed in that place because it was a school zone,” The officer added.

“And we also notice that the driver was aiming his car to a particular person. By any chance, do you know this person?” The officer asked as he pointed the woman in a teacher uniform on the screen.

“She’s my wife,” Tim replied.

“Well, Mr. Tan, it seems like—”

“It wasn’t an accident,” Tim interrupted the officer.

“We think so too, Mr. Tan.” The officer agreed. “We will be conducting a checkpoint in every part of the City, this can help us find the culprit,” The officer said.

Tim fell in deep thought, ‘Somebody is trying to harm Kira again!’
‘But who would do that?’
‘This is just like four years ago when Mr. Fuente tried to harm Kira!’

Tim couldn’t think of a possible person who would try to harm Kira, Mr. Fuente has passed away four years ago, what is this again?
Could it be that someone is trying to take revenge for Mr. Fuente?

Tim took a deep breath, this means that he has to be careful.

The danger is back, and they don’t know who’s their enemy.

In the other part of the City,

The old man’s thunder-like voice resounded in the entire mansion followed by cur$ings.

He threw another punch on a younger man’s upper abdomen.

“Ugh!” The younger man grunts as he felt the pain in his abdomen.

The younger man looked weak, he got wound in the corner of his lips and on his brows..

There are bruises and scratches on the young man’s entire body, his face and eyes were swollen due to beating and he was spitting bIood.

“I told you we can’t miss this chance!” The old man yelled angrily.

The young man kneeled weakly, “I-I’m sorry, boss..” He said weakly, as he struggled to open one of his bruised and swollen eyes.

The old man seemed unmoved by the younger man’s apology. He even sIapped him in full force which made his face turned, and then there’s a trace of the old man’s fingers.

“You useless idiot. You only gave them a hint about our plan to that woman!” The old man yelled again.

His eyes are bIoodshot and his face turned red due to anger.

The younger man rubbed his palm and as he tried to beg, “Boss, please, give me another chance,” he said, but it only triggered the old man’s anger.

The old man suddenly pulled out the gun from one of his men and aimed it to the younger man, “You lost your chance!”

“Hey, hey, hey, boss,” The Gang leader who is silently watching on the corner stepped in, “You can’t kll him here boss,” he reminded the old man.

The old man’s hand trembled, trying to suppress his urge to pull the tr!gger.

The Gang leader looked at his men Ron and Dan, “Take him and dispatch him to the place where no one can see him,” he ordered.

The two men looked at each other,

“Move!” The gang leader yelled.

Just then Ron and Dan move,

“No!” The young man shouted when he saw the two men approaching him. “Senior, I have been with you for a long time. Please, spare me. I have been loyal to you!” The Youngman crawled towards the Gang leader, he clutched on his clothes as he tried to beg.

“A****!” The Gang leader cur$ed as he kicked the Youngman away from him.

The young man’s body flown to the floor.

“Ugh!” He grunted.

“You are no use to us now, I thought that you will succeed to the plan, but you disappointed me, my men has only one chance, and if they made a mistake, they are no longer useful to me,” The gang leader coldly said.

The Youngman couldn’t do anything but to grit his teeth and balled his fist.

These people are cruel. He dedicated all his life for them, he klled people for them, he did dirty jobs for them and this is all he could get in return?

They are willing to dispatch him for just one mistake. He was so wrong for giving his loyalty to them.

The Youngman did not f!ght back when the two men pulled him to take him away, what could he do? He is in the devil’s den, they can still kll him even if he f!ghts back.

The two men brought the Youngman outside the mansion, they tied his arms and feet tightly before they put him in the car trunk.

The authority checked the cars that would pass the checkpoint which created traffic congestion.

Ron keeps on honking the car, “What’s the matter? Why is there traffic congestion when it’s already late in the evening?”

They couldn’t see the checkpoint a few meters away from them because of the cars ahead of them.

“Uh, just relax, just pray that no one can notice that something is odd with our car,” Dan said.

“Oh, I don’t pray because I don’t believe that prayers could be answered!” Ron joked followed by a loud laugh.

The young man on inside the trunk felt the car stopped. Beads of sweat started to pop out from his body. He thought that they have already arrived to the place where these men would kll him.

The Youngman tried to kick the trunk cover when nobody opened it, but then he felt the car movement again.

‘So, we have not yet arrived?’
‘But why did they stop earlier?’
The Youngman tried to kick the cover again.

As Ron drove the car, they get nearer and nearer to the checkpoint, and they were stunned when they saw the police car lights ahead of them.

Just then they realized that the traffic was because of the checkpoint, but it’s too late for them to turn back because there’s a lot of cars behind them.

“There’s a checkpoint!” Dan blurted out!

“I know!” Ron replied in annoyance. “Just act natural. Let’s not make them suspect us otherwise, we will join that Youngman to hell.”

The officer in the checkpoint waved its hand to the black car and he gestured the driver to pull over.

“Just act natural!” Ron said to Dan.

Ron slid down the car window.

The officer walked closer to the car, he checked the car’s plate number and then he looked at the two people inside the car.

“Good evening, officer.” Ron and Dan smiled as they greeted the officer.
