Chapter Fifty Two
He looked confused for some seconds.
“What are you talking about Ava? It’s me Calvin” he said, smiling.
“Oh don’t try to play me cute dimples. I know it’s your Kelvin, you can’t hide it” Ava said, almost yelling.
“Fine, prove it then!” He said and folded his arm.
Ava quickly grabbed his arm and rolled up his sleeve.
“Explain this scar..” she said. She knew that was the spot she injured him at the office some days back.
Kelvin sighed and closed the door behind.
“Fine, you are right. It’s me Kelvin” he said.
“Oh I know I’m right dkhead!” She said and let her hands slide down to her waist.
Kelvin still couldn’t believe that Ava could actually know that he was the one. He had shaved off his moustache already and did his hairstyle just like Calvin’s.
He was lucky that they were both wore the same suit.

“You have to explain what happened” She asked.
“I…”

Kelvin was still driving in front of Calvin. He didn’t want to answer anyone’s call.
Suddenly, he heard a crash behind. He hit the brakes and pulled over.
“What the…” He murmured as he stared at his side mirror. He saw his brother’s car. It was almost crushed already.
“Sht!” He yelled and quickly alight from the car.

“Help!” He heard his brother voice in the crushed car.
“Somebody help!” He yelled for help again.
If he isn’t saved in thirty seconds, the car could explode.
“Give me your hands brother!” Kelvin yelled.
He tried to stretch his hand…
“Hurry!” Calvin said in a faint voice.
“Save me!” He muttered again and became unconscious.
“No, Calvin…” Kelvin yelled and pulled him out of there. He had to save his brother even if means risking his own life.
He was lucky to pull him out of there quickly but the car exploded and affected Calvin again.
The cops arrived at the scene and started investigating the case.
“What happened?” One of the officer asked the truck driver that crushed Calvin’s car.
“It was a double coincidence sir. He disobeyed the traffic light and my truck lost its brake” he said.
“Why didn’t you find the brake huh? You are very careless for crushing into the victim’s car and you are under arrest for that” he said, bringing out his handcuffs.

On the other hand, the ambulance came and took Calvin away to the hospital.
“How’s he doing?” He asked.
“We have to run some test on him. So…”
“He isn’t injured. I don’t see blood anywhere so he should be fine huh?” Kelvin asked like he was already going insane.
“Excuse me sir, we have to get him to the hospital quickly” the doctor said and left with Calvin’s body.
He still couldn’t believe what just happened.
He got into his own car and drove behind the ambulance.

As he drove behind them, his father called.
“Where the fk are you Kelvin?” He asked, almost yelling at him.
“I’m sorry father. Calvin just got into an accident and… Hello! Father…”
His father already disconnected the call.
He threw his phone to the other seat and increased his speed.

Few minutes later, they got to the hospital. As they rolled Calvin into the theatre, his phone rang in his pocket. He took it and answered the call. It was Barbie.

“Hey Calvin…” She greeted.
“What’s up… Sis?” He replied, trying to hide everything.
“What about Kelvin?” Barbie asked.
“Uh, he finally stopped. We are heading home soon but…there’s a problem. Come to the hospital”
“W..sure? Of course. See you soon” she said and disconnected the call.

Few minutes later, Barbie and his parents got into the hospital at the same time.
“Father!” Kelvin stood up when he heard their footsteps. As he walked towards his father, his father slapped him twice.
“No, stop!” Tracy said, stopping her husband from h!tting him more.
Her eyes were teary.
“Barbie told me everything. Why didn’t you listen to Erica? Huh?” He yelled at him.
“I…”
“Shut up! You bloody fool!” He yelled, wanting to hit him again.
Kelvin lowered his gaze as tears rolled down his cheek. He fell down on his knees, right in front of his father.
“Forgive me father…it’s all my fault. Punish me” he said.
Mr Greg just stared at him with anger in his eyes.
Tracy just held her husband arm tight and cried into his chest.
“You disappointed me once again Kelvin..” he paused and stared at his phone which was vibrating.
He was needed at the grand opening.
“Of course I will punish you… Stand up fool!” He said to Kelvin.
Kelvin stood up and stared at his father.
“The company will now be under your care. Both Calvin’s job will be done by you. You have to know how to act, think and most of all… Smile like your brother” he said.
Kelvin swallowed hard and nodded.
“Yes father, I will do as you say” he said.
“And yes… You have to propose to Erica also… In place of Calvin”
As Kelvin heard that, he shot his father a glare.
“I can’t do that father” he said.
“Oh of course you will… You will do everything that Calvin do to her. Make her happy, make her smile” he said.
“Just say yes Kelvin, do it for me” Tracy said.
Kelvin sighed again and nodded his head.
“Fine, I will do what you say”
“What about Kelvin? If they ask of Kelvin”
“Kelvin disappointed me and had to run for his dear life to another country. Put it that way” Mr Greg said angrily and went to see the doctor.
Tracy touched Kelvin’s chest.
“I understand what you are going through Kelvin, it will be over soon” she said and followed her husband behind.
Barbie shot her brother a hard glare and walked away also. Everyone was disappointed at him.
He sat back on the bench and continued crying. It had been a long time since he saw his own tears.

“….and that’s what happened!” Kelvin news done explaining what happened to Ava.
Ava scoffed.
“I can’t believe this. What would Erica do if she finds out what had just happened” she said.
“She won’t if you don’t tell her. Let this be between both of us. Please Ava…” He said.
“I have a condition” she said.
“Make sure you love her like Calvin does. If she happens to know the truth, I’m gonna act like I also don’t know” she said.
“Fine, I’ll do as you say” he said.
Ava frowned and walked out of the bathroom. Kelvin was really disappointed with himself. He wished he could turn back the hands of clock to adjust things.

Erica was talking to some of the guests when Kelvin walked to her, smiling.
“Hey baby” he said, placing his arms around her shoulder.
“I’m bored” Erica said in a whisper.
“Oh I see. Excuse us..” he said and took Erica away. They went to the roof with a bottle of champagne.
Erica was staring at the stars and other tall buildings around.
“You know if Kelvin was here, he would have done a lot of silly things” she said.
Kelvin stared at her and smirked. He really wanted to know what silly things he would have done.
“Things like what?” He asked.
“You know… Silence everytime, always grumpy…”
“Yeah, that’s enough. That’s just how I… I mean, Kelvin roll. He’s always grumpy” Kelvin almost exposed himself.
Erica smiled and stared at her ring.
“This is very beautiful. Thanks for giving me this but… I’m not ready to get married now” Erica said.
“Me too. I’m just signalling to the whole world that you are mine” he said. He also didn’t know why he said that.
She chuckled and leaned forward and placed her head on his shoulder.
She was stylishly missing Kelvin.
She sipped from her champagne and stared at Kelvin.
“Can I drink more than this?” She asked.
“Uh…n..” he was about to say no when she interrupted him.
“Don’t say no. That’s Kelvin’s thing” she said.
“Sure, drink a lot. Drink as much as you like” he said.
“Thank you!” She squealed happily and went back to the hall to get some alcoholic drinks.

Kelvin brought out his phone and called his special investigator.
“Look into my brother’s accident. I doubt it is an accident” he said.
“Yes master, I’m glad you are alright” he said.
Kelvin angrily disconnected the call. If it was possible for steam to blow out from his ear, it would have. He was really angry and upset. He was also disappointed in himself.
Erica came back with bottle of alcoholic drinks. She poured some into two glasses and gave one to him.
“Cheers to our proposal…”
“You mean my proposal?” He asked, furrowing his eyebrows.
“Whatever” she replied and chuckled. They both cheered and started drinking.

Barbie was in the event, looking down. She missed her brother so much. Ava walked towards her and sat with her. She hastily wiped the tears away from her eyes and stared at Ava.
“What do you want?” She asked.
“Nothing, I just saw that you’re looking down so I..”
“I’m fine. Never mind” Barbie said and gave a fake smile.
Suddenly, her phone rang. She saw that it was the doctor. She tried to hide he phone screen from Ava.
“I have to pick this call. Excuse me” she said and left.
Ava watched her as she walked away.
“There are so gonna screw this up” Ava murmured.
