“Go!!!” I shouted at him
I don’t understand, is he deaf or what?
How could he even think of making friends with me after everything he’s done!!!
Have he forgotten he told me not to love him?
Do I look like a puppet he can control? Or do I look like some sort of dummy? He must be joking!!!
There’s no way I’m going to make friends with him. Never!!!
I made to leave but he called me
“But Nara, are you not tired of constant nagging?” He asked
I groaned
Is he asking me that? Huh?
I turned to face him, folding my hands together
“Sorry to burst your bubbles Kyle. I’m not tired ok? I love to nag, especially with you. So get lost!!” I said calmly
He chuckled
“Wow!” He said
I rolled my eyes
What’s so funny here? I can’t remember saying anything funny
“What’s going on here?. Why are you guys staring at each other?” Someone asked
That’s Melvin’s voice. I turned to look at him
“Hi BFF” he cooed
I glare at him before walking out on them
They can both go to h.ell!!!
I saw Sheila, standing close by
“Did you see Mel?” She asked, grinning
I groaned
“Can we go to your room?” I asked, ignoring her question
She looked at me
“Is anything the matter?” She asked
I smiled, trying to conceal my anger
“Yeah, no acually” I answered
“I’ve got some things to show you. But first we need to go to my room to get them” I said, changing the topic
“You mean you and Kyle’s room?” She asked chuckling
I groaned
“Just shut up” I yelled at her
“I’ll keep shut, only when you tell me what’s going on” she said
I groaned
“You know what, just go to your room. I’ll take a walk instead” I said and turned to leave
She held my hand
“Nara, I just want to know what’s wrong with you” she said
“There’s nothing wrong with me. If there’s anyone having a problem that should be Kyle” I yelled
“You said there’s nothing wrong with you and yet you yell at everything” she answered
I rolled my eyes
“I’m out of here” I said and then walked away
She ran after me and held me
“What?” I asked
“Come on let’s go sit over there and gist. Before going upstairs ok? Maybe a few gist will calm you down” she said
“I don’t like this look of yours” she added
I sigh
“Ok, let’s go but don’t ask me anything that as to do with Kyle ok?” I said
She smiled
“Promise” she answered
I looked at her
“Come on, stop staring at me like that” she said
“What’re you saying?” I asked
“Let’s go” she replied, walking away and dragging me along with her
I groaned
Stupid girl
??Kyle??
I was surprised when she glare at Melvin and walked away. That’s really strange considering how close they are.
I turned to face him
“Is there something I’m missing out?” I asked
He chuckled but said nothing
“Mel is everything ok? I mean between you two?” I asked
He smiled
“Yeah, she’s just angry. She’ll come around” he said
“Really?” I asked
“Yes. We should go upstairs” he said
I sigh
Although he seems to smile, I know he’s worried
“Ok ”
We went upstairs and saw Alvin standing by the door side
“Have you seen the princess?” I asked
“No, is anything the matter?” He asked
“No, we’ll just go in” I answered and open the door
Melvin followed behind as we entered into the living room. Melvin sat on the couch
“What should I get for you?” I asked
“Water should do” he answered
I sigh and went to the fridge to get a bottle of water and two glass cups
I really want to ask him what’s wrong but I just kept quiet. I went to where he was seated and dropped the cups on the table.
I filled the cups with water and gave one of the cups to him. I gulped down the water and dropped the cup.
“Kyle can I ask you a question?” Melvin asked
“Sure” I answered
“Do you think I’m a good friend?” He asked
My eyes switched
I wasn’t expecting him to ask me this sort of question. Why will he even ask?
Of course everybody knows he’s a good friend. The fact that he can tolerate Nara, makes him a good friend. He stands by her and makes her happy, so why will he think that way…..
Is something going on between the……
“Kyle!!” He called, jolting me back to reality
“Wh…yo…you called me?” I asked
“You’ve not answer my question” he said
I sigh
“Sorry. Of course you’re a good friend” I answered
He smiled
“Is there anything going on between you two?” I asked
“Of course not” he answered smiling
“Are you sure? She seems to be angry with you” I said
He laughed
“Yes she is and that’s because I did not call her or even check on her” he replied
“She’s angry with you because of that?” I asked
“Of course. I’m her best friend. I should be able to look out for her” he answered
“But that’s not enough reason to get angry or not talk to you”
He laughed
“What? For Liyah it is. I’m happy she did no break my head or do something stupid” he said
My eyes widen in shock
“Break your head?” I asked
He laughed
“Yeah”
“Seriouslyy?” I asked, still doubting him
He laughed
“Well let me tell you a story. Last year, we went to France for an art exhibition. When we got there, we got settle and then decided to take a walk. It was actually her idea. We got lost in the crowd and it took me some hours to get to find her. She thought I left her. Mark that word thought, so…..”
“Sorry I had to cut you short. You said I should mark the word thought?” I asked to be sure
He nodded
“Continue”
“So she was pissed off with me. I tried explaining to her but she told me to shut up. Which I didn’t. Well my disobedient landed me in the hospital. She hit me with a badminton stick she collected from a passerby. I had go to the hospital to get my head bandaged” he said
“What!!” I exclaimed
He laughed
“She found out later that I never did leave her but instead, she was the one who wandered off” he said
I knew that girl has a psych©logical problem!!
How could she break her friend’s head just because she thought he left her. Who does that!!
“Did she apologise?”
“Yes she did. She cried all through the night. It took me over 24hours to stop her from crying. She felt I was going to leave her” he answered
How come he became friend with a psych©path? Huh?
“She’s a psych©path but you love her” my subconscious mind said
I groaned
I just can’t deny the fact that I love her. I don’t know how it happened. I don’t think I love my girlfriend the way I love her.
“Kyle!” Mel called
“Yes?”
“Are you ok? You seems to be in deep thought?” He asked
I smiled
“I was actually thinking of the next question to ask you” I lied
I can’t tell him I was actually thinking of Nara. Thinking about how much have come to love her even with her weird and spooky characters.
“Have you gotten any question to ask?” He asked
I nodded
“How long have you been friends with her?” I asked
“Since senior high school. I never knew we study at the same school until we meet at a coffee shop” he answered
“How did you succeed in staying with her for this long?” I asked
He smiled
“All I did was let her be herself with me. With that I get to know her and found out she’s such an amazing fellow” he said
I smiled
He’s such a good guy to talk about her like this despite knowing she’s weird
“Do you have feeling for her?” I found myself asking before I could stop it
He chuckled
“If you’re talking about sxual feeling or being deeply in love with her. No I did not” he answered
My eyes switched
Is he a g.ay or something?
“If you’re thinking about me being a g.ay? Well I’m not” he answered as if reading my thought
I chuckled
“Well I can’t help but think that way. It’s strange to believe you never fell in love with her” I said
He smiled
“You mean you never nursed a feeling for her even if it’s for once” I asked
“Of course, I once nursed a feeling for her, or so I thought” he said
I don’t get him
“You once had feelings for her? What then happened? Why didn’t you tell her?” I asked
He smiled
“Because the feeling weren’t real. It was just a philia feeling” he said
“You see, I thought I was in love with her but couldn’t tell her. I friendzone myself, nursing my feelings until I met with a girl who took my beeathe away” he said smiling
“Then I realised, I wasn’t in love with Liyah. It was just a fling” he said
Wow!!
I sigh
“Kyle” he called
“Yes?”
“I know I shouldn’t be telling you this but I think she’s in love with you” he said
I rolled my eyes
“You said?” I asked, finding it hard to believe
He laughed
“I know you love her too but you both are just not ready to own up to your feelings” he said
I groaned
“I don’t love her” I lied
He chuckled
“Of course you do” he said
“I don’t”
“You do. It’s written all over you” he said
What’s written all over me?” I asked
“That you love her” he said
“You really do” he added
I groaned
“You don’t need to deny it ok? It just the two of us. I promise to keep it a secret” he said
I sigh
“Ok. You know what I’m in love with her. I dont know how but it just happened” I said
The door opened
“Who are you in love with” someone asked
From the voice I knew it was Nara. I raised my head up to meet her glaring eyes staring at me
“Don’t make me repeat myself Kyle, who are you in love with?!!!”
