Chapter 15 : LORD RODRIGUEZ CHOOSES A BRIDE

Days has turned to a week Enya has been faithful in her archery trainning.

Though her skills were great but she still has a lot to learn.

She doesn’t miss her target, but she needs to shoot the arrow right into the tiny hole at the centre of the board.

Finally the day has come for the Young Lord to choose his bride.

King Neheb had invited almost everyone in the village both the rich and the poor to witness the day one of his daughters will be chosen.

Everyone were so happy especially the royal house. Lady Moreen had picked one of her best dress for the day.

Everyone would say, “ This is indeed a blessed day.”

Enya is seen with her sisters, she had decided to quit the training for the day and rather witness one of her sisters chosen.

She helped them decorate themselves, and she made sure they looked presentible.

“ Sister,” Arwen called.

“ Mm-hmm.” She hummed an answer.

“ You haven’t told us your reasons for quiting the test.”

Enya smiled. “ I was only following the will of fate. For I am not destined to be with His Highness, I do not have to push further. One of you are.”

“ Do I look great on this?” Anna asked and they both nodded their heads.

“ You look great on it.” Enya replied.

“ I never thought I would fall in love.” Said Anna. “ How does it feels, sister, to be a queen?”

“ Uhm… I honestly do not know, that is why I was so obssessed to be one.” She simply said.

“ Do you still wish to be one?” Arwen asked.

“ No, not anymore.” She sighed, not ready to talk about herself to her sisters. “ no more questions, come on, let’s get out of here.” She hurried them.

She didn’t bother appearing on the best dress or make-up, she ws only there to witness the event.

The hall was filled, everyone sat awaiting for Lord Rodriguez to show up. Anna and Arwen sat close to each other on a separate seat they had prepared for them, while Enya sat on the seeat acroos theirs.

The chattering voices stopped as soon as Lord Rodriguez appeared in the hall. He stared at the two beauties and a small smile played on his lips.

Today, one of the two will be chosen. Now, the question is… Who will it be??

“ I have come with a decision and I have made up my mind to be with…” there was a brief pause, then he continued. “ Lady Enya of Pendamour.”

The entire hall was filled with gasp and awe. Muttering voices could be heard from the back up to the front.

Enya was shocked than anyone present. Her eyes widened, speechless was she as she stared at her mother.

She shook her head slowly at her, “ It’s all a mistake.” Was the word she kept muttering in her head, hoping her mother could hear her.

He continued. “ She has proven worthy the moment she had stepped down for her sisters. Most of us may have thought of it to be a cowardice choice, but I saw it as the wisest renouncement one would ever make.

That was selflessness. And do know what? I am more pleased with right choices.” Looks at Enya from where she sat, “ Please come forward, My Lady.”

Enya never bothered about the crowd since she was little, but at this moment, she seem to bother about the hundred eyes which stared at her.

“ I know this has only come unexpected, and you have proven to my doubts that I do not need to search for a patner anymore, because I have found one already. My brothers and sisters who have come to witness this day, I hereby proclaim Lady Enya, as my wife.”

Everyone stood up, filling the atmosphere of the hall with an unfading applaud which lasted for minutes.

A hot tear dropped down from her eye, as her gaze never left his. She never expected it, no one did. She wished someone will have to explain to her what it is that has just happened.
