CHAPTER THIRTEEN

FINAL

As we entered the house, we were all directed to take our seat as the Governor would join us in few minutes.

I was just looking all around the house as everywhere was looking very beautiful.

I still can’t imagine that a nobody like me without an earthly father can still be recognized by the governor of the state.

I shook myself twice to make sure that I wasn’t dreaming. But this is indeed very real. Wow! God is indeed very faithful.

Few minutes later, the governor joined us in the living room and was very happy to see us.

He looked at me all through and asked his sister if I was truly the one who prayed for them and she said yes. He shook his head and said “God is indeed great.

Who would have believed that He would use someone like this in such a great way?” He asked me to come closer and he hugged me tightly.

Various pressmen were just taking pictures of I and the governor. I was very happy.

He asked about my education and my Mum explained everything to him. He also asked about who my daddy was and mum also gave him all the details.

He asked us to excuse him and his sister including the husband for a while.

After a few minutes, they came back but this time around, favour’s dad and mum were smiling seriously.

The governor cleared his throat and then he said, he has listened to my story from my mum and his sister as well. So he has made up his mind to adopt me as his child.

He said he lost his wife and daughter few years ago and that his daughter happened to be same age with me.

He said I and my mum are free to come to the governor’s house anytime and any day.

He also told me that I should prepare because I would be going abroad to continue schooling.

What! I and my mum echoed together at the same time. Oh! This is just too good to be true. I was speechless.

After so many years of suffering and weeping, God just changed my story within a few seconds. Tears of joy were just running down freely from my eyes.

This joy is just too much. Me that was once rejected has now become the adopted daughter of the governor. Oh! Indeed there is nothing too difficult for this great God to do.

My mum and I knelt down on the floor as we thanked the governor greatly for his kindness towards us.

The governor asked us to stand up and then looked at me and said “my dear it pays to serve God faithfully because no matter what, He won’t disappoint you”.

Favour hugged me tightly and was weeping at the same time. She said ” oh! I love you Rita, you are not a mistake, see how God has beautified your life” I couldn’t say a word as I just allowed the tears to flow freely from my eyes.

After some hours, we were set to go and the governor called one of his driver and asked him to go over to the house with us and carry every necessary things I would need.

At the booth of the car, they were a lot of foodstuff for my mummy and a brown envelope was given to her as well.

She was told to visit the governor’s house anytime she wants.oh! Mum was amazed at the awesome power of God over our lives.

As I sat down with my mum inside the car, I knew my life story has just began.

There and then, I made up my mind to create great impact in the lives of people.

To show them how powerful and lovely the Almighty God has been to me. I will help the helpless and hopeless.
