Iris was sited on the steel bench while Nicole and Draco paced in front of the emergency room. Nora (Iris’s mom) kept trying to get a glimpse of what was going on in the room.
“Just believe she is going to be fine and she will be fine,” Nicole consoled Draco and he nodded, deep down he knew something was wrong with his sister and it could be severe.
Nora moved away from the door when she saw the doctor walk towards the door, they walked out of the ER looking serious.
The doctor started before anyone could ask a question, “the girl is out of danger, we told you about her appendix and she needs surgery ASAP. To be candid you can lose her if she does not have surgery in the next few days,”
“Surgery? What surgery?” Draco asked as his lips trembled in fear, Nicole stared at his scared expression and then at Iris who was still sited on the bench.”You didn’t tell him?” Nicole questioned Iris.
“I thought it was just a normal fever,” Nora muttered too. “You didn’t tell anyone?!” Nicole exclaimed.
“Excuse us,” the doctor said before walking away with the nurses. “Why did you keep it a secret?” Nicole inquired marching towards Iris.
“I had no time to tell them,” she replied. “No time? You could have informed us yesterday night!” Draco snapped.
“We can fight and pin blame later, let’s just hope Diana is fine,” Nora said. “That prayer is for Iris, you should pray that nothing goes wrong, or else I’m going to file a case against you!” Draco threatened before running off.
“Draco!” Nicole yell running after him but he wouldn’t stop. “Why did you do it?” Nora asked sitting beside Iris.
“Iris,” she called but got no response. “Not telling anyone was intentional, but why will you do that? were you hoping she would die?” Nora questioned.
“I am not that cruel,” Iris snapped and rested her head on the wall behind her. “Are you sure?” She asked.
“Don’t trust me? Do you think I will stand to do low to hurt those spoilt brats? I don’t have time for them,” she stated.
“What about me?” Nora asked. “You are hurting me, Iris,” she stated. Iris shook her head sideways and replied, “I am not hurting you, you are hurting yourself by considering those two as your family.”
“They are our family, your family! They are your fiancee’s siblings,” Nora stated. “Missing fiancee,” she blurted.
“What?” Nora squeezed her brows in confusion. “My fiancee is missing remember?” She asked.
“What is that supposed to mean?” Nora asked turning to face her properly. “Meaning, those kids are not my family, they are not responsibilities. Their brother could have eloped and probably having fun with the witch he eloped with,” she blurted with a frown.
“I can’t believe that is coming from you,” Nora said on the verge of tears. “Believe it or not it is the truth, we have no news of Elias, he couldn’t have been kidnapped. The kidnapper would have contacted us if he was, we need to snap out of our illusion mom! Those two know something but they won’t spill it, I have no idea why I should care? Why am I expected to care and pity them when neither they nor their brother does the same,” she swallowed hard with her eyes closed so she won’t end up bursting into tears.
“You brought this upon yourself when you went to get them,” Nora said. “Yes, I admit! It is always Iris’s fault anyway, no one else is at fault if not her,” she replied sarcastically.
“I understand that things are hard on you, but Diana and Draco are not to blame for it. They are the victims here,” Nora said.
“I am a victim too, I was humiliated on my wedding day, I lost my fiancee!” She blurted. “And they lost their brother!” Nora replied.
Iris stared at her as there was a minute of silence. “They lost their brother Iris, the only family they had,” she completed.
Iris stared away as she felt a bit guilty, she was hard on them, though she blamed them for always acting strong and standing for themselves, maybe if they had shown her their weak side she could have understood that they are groaning in pain too.
“You love them Iris, but you are too stubborn to admit that,” Nora said with her hand placed on her.
“I’m confused mom,” she confessed hugging her mother. “They are confused too, you three have a lot in common you just fail to realize it,” Nora said reciprocating the hug.

Romina sighed after listening to both sides (Iris and Draco). Draco was mad at Iris and threatened to do all sorts of things while Nicole tried to persuade him.
She drove straight to the hospital as she heard the news about Diana’s health, she was sitting in the car staring at the building.
She was about to leave since it would be hard to see the twins with everyone around, she can’t afford to let Iris see her.
She was about to ignite the engines when Iris walked out of the hospital, she got into her car and drove off.
“Where is she heading?” Romina wondered as she stepped out of the car, she rested her back on the car and watched the car drive away.
‘She is not going to commit su!cide again right?’ Romina asked herself. “Only one way to confirm,” she mumble and pressed a few things on her phone, she placed the phone In her ear after dialing Iris’s number.
She didn’t pick up at first but Romina called again. “Hi Romina,” she said dryly after picking up. “Hey, how are you?” Romina asked pretending to be excited.
“Fine, I guess,” Iris shrugged. “You don’t sound okay, is something wrong?” She inquired.
“Nothing, I’ve got this,” Iris replied. “Are you sure you don’t want to talk about it?” Romina asked.
“I’m fine, thanks,” she replied. “I called thinking we could hang out but that will be some other time,” Romina uttered feigning a sad voice.
“I’m sorry some other time okay,” Iris replied.” I understand, some other time I guess,” Romina sighed.
“Yes, bye,” she muttered. “Bye,” Romina replied and cut the call. “You have a skeleton in your cupboard Iris, it’s only a matter of time for me to find out what it is,” she murmured as she walked towards the hospital.
Romina was able to get into the emergency room without anyone noticing, Nora went to look for Draco and she was wearing a nose mask.
She saw Diana laying weakly on the bed, drip was on her wrist, oxygen on her face, she looked so pale.
“Aunt Romina,” she mumble and Romina smiled weakly, she felt sorry for her, and guilt engulfed her.
If she was not selfish enough to kidnap their brother maybe none of these will happen.
“You are here,” she said as her eyes struggled to stay open and her breathing was hard. “Don’t stress yourself,” Romina warned and she nodded.
“You need surgery, after it, you are going to be healthy, all this pain will go away,” Romina assured.
“I want Elias to operate on me, I’m going to feel safe with him,” she said and Romina felt a sting in her heart.
“But it’s fine, I’m going to tell him my experience when he returns,” she added with a sad smile and Romina rubbed her hand. “I’m going to fulfill your greatest desire,” Romina assured.
“Where is my brother?” She asked. “He will soon be here,” Romina assured and she nodded as her eyes closed gently.
“I’m sorry,” Romina whispered and peck her forehead before leaving the room. A nurse walked in as she walked out but she didn’t notice her

Iris stared at Elias’s picture with a heavy heart, she tried not to cry but tears won’t listen. She was sitting in a restaurant with water in front of her, she has been thinking about what her mother said.
It is neither her fault nor the twins that Elias is missing, she should accept that truth and stop picking on them but they won’t stop being a pain in the @ss.
“I wish you would return, I don’t care if you eloped just keep it a secret so I won’t find out and even if I’m going to try and forgive you so please come back,” she pleaded
In the same restaurant, Neil was sitting at a far distance with his gaze on Iris who looked sad and kept wiping her face.
‘She really loves him,’ he thought sadly. He has been trying to stay away but he just can’t, he is still in love with her but it hurts him to know he has moved on.
He can’t blame her since he left for such a long time, he took his phone and sent Half a million dollars into her account.
