Black and his men stopped afar off from a building, which their tracker led them to. Jeffery and his friends pulled up quietly behind them.
Black and his men got down from their cars and he quickly signaled each one on which direction to go. Then he came to where Jeffrey was parked.
“You would have to wait out here for us sir, please do not come in, it’s too risky”
“We totally understand, we will wait out here” Jeffery nodded as he spoke.
Black turned and went into the building with his men, leaving Jeffery and his friends to wait outside.
At the entrance of the building, there was an armed man on guard, Black noticed him first, and shot him on his chest. Luckily for them, the guns they had were silencers, so no one would hear the gun shot.
They went in, to find two more men guarding another door that seemed to be leading to a room, they turned almost same time Black and his men got there. Two of his men quickly shot at them, but one was quick enough to shoot at one of Black’s men first, before Black shot him in his head.
With the two men dead, Black bent down to examine his wounded man. The bullet grazed his right shoulder, so it wasn’t a deep injury. Black applied pressure on it and asked one of his men to take him to the car.
“Take him to the car and continue to apply pressure”
Black opened the door to find an empty room, with the back door open. It was obvious, Timothy had escaped with Jane.
Black and his men quickly ran out through the back door to chase after Timothy.

“Whose idea was it for us to even come to the police station in the first place?” Anita asked as she held the cell bars looking dejected.
“Wasn’t it your idea? Weren’t you the one having thoughts about the boys not having enough manpower to withstand Mr. Okafor’s son and his men?” Erica asked.
“Oh… that was my idea? Are you sure I was the one who said it?” Anita asked with so much innocence, as if she couldn’t remember anything she said.
“No, I was the one who said it” Erica said with so much sarcarm which made the three of them to laugh.
“I can see you ladies are having fun, I suggest you keep it up because you are going to need a lot of it” the police officer who arrested them said as he passed by their cell.
“What is even his problem?” Erica asked after the police officer had left.
“I don’t know, probably he just found out that his wife cheated on him with their gateman?” Amaka said with a shrug of her shoulders.
“Hehehehehhehe….Amaka, where did that come from?” Erica bent over as she laughed.
“Do I know? Is he not the one acting like his wife ran off with his best friend? Stupid man!”
Erica laughed all the more, even Amaka was laughing too.
“Poor man, I pity him” Anita said in laughter.
“Come, this one we are all laughing, how are we going to get out of this place?” The moment Amaka asked this question, they all stopped laughing.
“The boys are out there trying to save Jane” Anita said.
“And we definitely can’t involve mom and dad in this, and my husband is not in the country” Erica said.
“Then we are finished, ewo….. My baby o….. who will breast feed him?” Anita lamented.
“Let’s not lose hope, let’s just pray the boys are able to save Jane in one piece, then they would be able to come get us” Erica said.

Black and his men came out to the back of the house to find Timothy holding Jane with his left arm across her neck, and his right hand holding a gun to her head.
“Do not come any closer or I’m going to blow up her brains” Timothy threatened as Black and his men tried to get closer to him.
Black knew he had to be careful to avoid Jane being shot.
“Timothy please don’t do…”
“Shut the fuck up! Now I want you and your men to drop your guns” Timothy commanded.
Black and his men immediately obeyed and dropped their guns on the ground.
“Now kick them towards me” Black and his men kicked their guns towards Timothy.
“Good, now I want you to turn around, and do not look back or I will shoot her” Timothy threatened them as he tried moving backwards with Jane.
As Timothy was talking, Black sighted Jeffery coming behind Timothy with a gun in his hands, so he slightly nodded his head for him to act.
Jeffery quickly shot Timothy on his right knee, and he immediately let Jane go, as he fell to the ground holding his knee and groaning in pains, Jeffery rushed to Jane’s side and immediately enveloped her in a hug. “Baby are you okay?” He started looking her over, searching her body for injuries.
“I’m fine, oh Jeff you are here” she hugged him again. “I thought I might never see you again”
“I’m here baby don’t cry” as they hugged, they heard the sound of a gun being cocked. Jeffery turned to find Timothy pointing a gun at them. But before he could take a shot, Black quickly shot him in the head. And he went over to check for a pulse after they all stood in shock watching him struggle for his life.
“He is dead” he said to Jeffery and Jane. Jane placed her head on Jeffery’s shoulders, and started crying.
“Shhhh… it’s okay baby, don’t cry, you’re safe now” he rubbed on her back as he spoke.

After Jane had stopped crying, Jeffery carried her bridal style, to the car where he had Dele and Michael to be on standby in case Timothy came out through the front.
“What happened to staying in the car sir?” Black asked Jeffery with a smile on his face when they were about to leave.
“Let’s just say I had other plans in mind, I wasn’t willing to leave anything to chance. You should be thanking God I came, if not probably Timothy would have escaped by now”
“And I saved your life too”
“I guess we are even then. Thanks so much man”
“I was just doing my job sir, besides I have you to thank too, even if what you did was risky”
Jeffery smiled and got into the car to drive Jane to the hospital, while Black and his men followed behind.

“Jeff I’m okay, I don’t need to see a doctor, I just want to go home”
“Baby are you sure?” Jeffery kept looking her over, as if he was searching for something that was amiss on her body. He couldn’t get himself to take his eyes off her, so he had to ask Michael to drive them with Dele in front so he could sit at the back with Jane.
“I’m sure Jeff, please just take me home”
“Okay fine, we will just over to Michael’s place so Amaka and my sisters would know you’re safe, they have been worried sick about you”
“Oh….. Amaka, how is she? Hope she wasn’t badly hurt?”
“No she’s fine” Jeffery placed her head on his chest and rubbed on her head. The image of Timothy holding a gun to her head couldn’t leave his mind, and it made him to not want her out of his sight.
Jane wanted nothing but to sleep. Hopefully when she wakes up, this will all be a dream. As they changed route and decided to go home, Jeffery called Black to inform him of the change of plans but asked him to take his injured man to the hospital and promised to come visit him the next day.
When they arrived Michael’s house, it was awfully silent. So they thought the ladies must have gone to sleep. Michael went upstairs to check the rooms, but they were not there. It was just the nanny and their baby who were sleeping in the baby’s room.
“They are not upstairs” Michael told them as he got downstairs.
“Then where could they be? I have checked the back of the house and they aren’t there either” Dele asked in confusion.
“I noticed Erica’s car wasn’t outside when we drove in, could it be they went out?” Jeffery asked
“By 6am? Where could they have gone to by this time?” Asked Michael.
“The only way to find out where they went, is to ask the nanny, she was home when they left” Jeffery suggested. And Michael went back upstairs to wake the nanny.
“They said they were going to the police station and that they weren’t going to take long” the sleepy nanny said.
“They went to the police, whatever for?”
“I don’t know sir, they only said I shouldn’t wait up for them”
“What time did they leave?”
“Almost immediately you left the house sir”
Michael checked his wristwatch “That’s over six hours ago and they aren’t back yet?”
“No sir”
Michael went back downstairs to inform Jeffery and Dele.
“What did they go and do in a police station? I thought I asked them to stay here?” Jeffery asked as he tried calling Erica “have you tried calling Anita?” He asked Michael.
“I have called her twice but she is not picking up”
“Call her again, Erica is not picking up as well, I just hope they are safe”
After ten minutes of them trying to reach the ladies without any of them picking, they decided to search for them in the nearest police station.

”If we had known, we would have just stayed at home. Now see even the people we were trying to help, I’m sure they must have gone and come back” Anita stood holding the bar of the cell looking so pitiful. Ever since she was thrown into the cell, she has been regretting the decision of them coming to ask for the police’s help.
”how do we even know if they were able to rescue Jane successfully?” asked Amaka
”We would have to call them and know for sure” Erica suggested.
“Officer, please allow us to make a call to our family” Amaka pleaded to one of the officers who was passing by. Their phones were seized when they were put into cell, so they couldn’t reach anyone.
“I thought you ladies were being smart? Use your smartness and reach your family now?”
“Please officer, we are sorry for whatever it is we said. In fact we don’t want to report any case again, just allow us to contact our families” Anita pleaded this time making a baby face.
“Fine, but only one of you will be allowed to make a call”
“Alright no problem, thank you so much, I will make the call” Anita quickly ran out of the cell as the officer opened it.

Michael and the rest were about to leave the house when his phone rang. He took it out of his pocket to find Anita’s name on the screen.
“Hello baby where are you?”
“We are at the police station”
“Doing what?”
“Just come down to the Ikoyi police division to bail us, there is no much time to explain”
“Alright I am on my way now”
“Who was that?” Dele asked
“Anita, she said they were arrested at the police station, we have to go bail them out”
“What did they do wrong?”
“We would have to find out when we get there” Jeffery said.
They all got into their separate cars and drove to the police station. Since Jeffery hasn’t been home yet, he had to drive one of Michael’s cars because he intends to take Jane home straight from the police station, after they were done there.
When they got to the police station, Michael introduced himself to the police and asked to see Anita, Erica and Amaka.
“And who do you think you are, to just walk in here demanding to see your wife?” one of the officers who had arrested them asked rudely.
“May I even know what their offense was for you to have arrested them?”
“And oga I said who do you think you are to ask me such a question?”
“Excuse me?” Michael asked in disbelief.
“You are excused already, and I suggest you use that excuse now and excuse yourself out of this place if you don’t want to be thrown into the cell like your wife”
Before Michael could react, Jeffery quickly came forward and calming him down and decided to speak to the police himself.
“Officer, all we are asking is to see them and then seek for a bail for them. They are actually my sisters”
“Who be this one again? Shebi this place be like your house that you can just be giving orders anyhow?”
“My name is Jeffery Ademola” Jeffery replied calmly with an air of pride.
“Ademola, like the Ademolas?” The police officer asked. Jeffery nodded in response.
“You mean like the former assistant head of state Ademola?”
“I’m afraid you are correct”
“Ehmmmmm….. Oga nor vex,. I nor know say na your sisters, oya sergeant release them fast fast” the officer was shaking all over as he spoke.
The sergeant quickly released them, and when they came out and saw Jane, they all screamed and hugged her at the same time, they almost fell her.
“Jane you are alive, I was scared something bad had happened to you” Amaka had tears in her eyes as she spoke.
“So why were they arrested?” Jeffery asked the police officer who was still shaking from fear of what Jeffery might do to him and his colleagues.
“Emmmm….”
“Jeffery let’s just forget it, thank God Jane is back safely” Erica said as she walked up to the officer. “You should thank your stars, it’s a day of celebration for us. if not, we would have reported you to your superiors and made sure you lost your job”
“God bless you ma, thank you very much sir” the men kept thanking them profusely as they walked out of the station.
“So what brought you people here in the first place?” Dele asked the ladies as they got outside.
“Please let’s all go home, I’m very sure Jane needs to rest. let us talk about this some other time” Anita quickly got into her husband’s car as she spoke to avoid any form of interrogation from any of the men.
They all concurred, but the men knew the ladies were hiding something. But like Anita said, now wasn’t the right time to discuss it. They all decided to let the matter die for now.
Erica said her goodbyes, got into her car and drove out, while Michael and Anita drove out in their car. So it was just Dele, Amaka, Jeffery and Jane that were left.
“Amaka you would come with us right?” Jane asked Amaka who was looking all weak and tired.
“I will take her home” Dele quickly offered.
“You don’t have to bother yourself I will just go with Jane and Jeffery”
“I insist, please”
Jeffery who has been noticing the tension between those two, since he got back. Decided to help his friend out.
“Hey emm… Amaka why don’t you allow Dele take you home? I’m very sure you would need to rest on your drive home. And being with Jane in same car, won’t allow that because you both will keep chatting all through the drive”
They all looked at Jeffery with a funny look on their faces for the ridiculous excuse he just made.
“Fine, that was a lame one, please join us in our car. Dele you are going home alone” they all busted into laughter for his sudden frankness.
“It’s fine, I will go with Dele”
“Amaka are you sure?” Jane asked.
“Yes I am” Amaka hugged Jane and whispered in her ears “two is a company, three is a crowd. Enjoy your ride with Jeffery, we will catch up later”
Jane smiled at her friend’s thoughtfulness, even when it inconvenienced her, she still thought of others.
When they got home, Jeffery carried Jane bridal style and took her upstairs.
“Jeff I can actually walk, you don’t have to keep carrying me”
“And I chose to carry you, so enjoy it because I’m not planning on bringing you down until we get to the bedroom”
Jane nuzzled her head on his chest as he carried her through the stairs, and when they got to the bedroom he placed her down on her feet.
“Would you like me to bath you?” Jeffery asked with so much tenderness in his voice.
Jane touched his face with her palm. ”you look so fatigued baby” she had so much worry in her voice.
Jeffery kssed the inside of her palm. ”that doesn’t matter, the most important thing; is that you are here now”
