A LIAR AT THE ALTAR SEASON 2: CHAPTER 21 – 30

Chapter 24

Well, Grey pleaded guilty and…I saw the evidence.”
He didn’t look surprised, was I the only one shocked at this discovery?

“I knew he had some kinda hatred towards me but he didn’t have to involve you, the baby or the nice old lady that was helping you. I hope he gets a death sentence.”
He snarled.

“You should watch what you say around Kayden, he is still a kid.”
I said crossing my arms.

He looked down at Kayden and smiled.
I should tell him about Kayla now.

“Tristan, there is something you need to know about Kayden.”
I walked to the chaise lounge and sat down.

“What?” He looked tensed.

“Umm…Kayden is…”
The door burst open cutting me off.

“There you are, I have been looking all over for you.”
Nana said in a low tone trying not to wake the baby.

“Can I talk to you for some minutes?”

“Sure.”
I took a glance at Tristan before leaving the room.

I followed her into a small living room that had a vintage look. She smiled at me after we sat down, I noticed her grey hair looked shorter.

“Tea?”
She asked as she picked up the teapot that looked like an artifact.

“No, I just had a drink not too long ago.”

“How have you been, dear?”

“Good.”
I hoped she didn’t notice the monotone.

“I saw the news, I can’t believe your ex did that. Sorry about that,” she said and took a sip of her tea while I just nodded.

This was getting awkward real quick, it took everything in me not stand up and walk out of the room.

“I’m really sorry, Chloe, for what we did to you.”
She said after some seconds of silence.

“It’s fine Nana, it’s all in the past now,” I said with a small smile but deep down I was still angry for being an experiment. I had to let go of the past for the twins’ sake.

“Thank you for giving us Kayden, it must have been hard for you.”

Kayla?

“Yeah, it was. I’m sorry I have to go, I need to speak to Tristan.”
I stood up after giving her a quick hug.

I ran into Mrs. Sanchester on my way, her glossy blonde hair bounced over her shoulders as she approached me.

“Chloe!”
She pulled me into a tight hug.

“I am so glad they finally have him, he won’t hurt you or anyone again. You’re safe now.”
She told me before pulling away.

“Thank you.”
My patience was running out.

“Well, there’s a party tomorrow night. You can meet with Anita, my stylist to pick a dress, any dress you want she’ll get it for you.”

“Okay.”
I said with a forced smile, I walked away immediately a maid came to speak to her.

I groaned when I opened the door and found him sleeping. Should I wake him? I will wait.

I woke up late the next day, I went down to get breakfast. Everyone was busy with party preparation.

I sat at the Island to feast on the pancakes and waffles the cook placed in front of me.

Nora walked into the kitchen with a tray full of muffins.

“Hey, where is Tristan?”

“He has an appointment at the hospital, he left not long ago.”

“What about Kayden?”

“He is with Nana.”

“Okay.”
I must tell him to today, I would tell him when he gets back.

Anita arrived with my dress, I tried it on before she left. Mrs. Sanchester went around making sure everything was perfect for the party.

Tristan returned late from the hospital and spent the remaining hour picking a suit while I handled Kayden that won’t stop crying because I refused to give him my phone.

Time flew and soon I found myself dressing up for the party.

Tristan and I stayed in separate rooms since we got here, things were still different.

I stared at myself in the mirror as I wore my jewellery. The gown had thin straps and a long V-neck that showed off some ¢leavage.

It was long with a fishtail that swept the ground, it hugged my hips and had a long slit that stopped at my mid-thigh.

I left my hair down after smoothening the ends to make it look straight and glossy.
My makeup was moderate, the gold eyeshadow made my eyes stand out.

I grabbed my purse just when someone knocked.

“Open.”

“Wow, who are you?”
Vina asked as she entered the room.

She was wearing a black champagne tulle gown that fitted her small frame.
Her hair was up in a neat bun and her makeup, as usual, was top notch.

I smiled at her as I posed like a model.

“You go, girl,” she snapped her fingers cheering me on.
I chuckled and walked to her, we hugged and pulled away.

“Have you told him?”

“Not yet but I will tonight.”

There was a light knock on the door.

“Miss Simpson, it’s time.”
One of the maids informed me.

“Okay, thanks!”

Mrs. Sanchester told me this morning we were making a grand entrance since we were the celebrants.

“How do I look?”

“Like a Queen.”
I smiled and headed to the door, Tristan was waiting with Kayden at the hallway.

My gold heels clicked on the marble floor announcing my presence. Tristan’s eyes ran up my body and remained on my face, his lips twitched and formed a smile.

He looked graceful and gorgeous in his charcoal black two-piece suit, his dirty blonde hair was brushed back, wait he got a haircut and I never noticed?
It looked exactly like his haircut three years ago.

I smiled back as he tucked his hands in the front pockets on his suit pants.

“Mommy!”
Kayden ran and came to hug my knees.

“Please let’s welcome the celebrants!”
Mrs. Sanchester screamed and everyone applauded.

I held Kayden’s left hand while Tristan held his right hand,

“Ready?”
Tristan asked me hoarsely.

“Yeah, ” I nodded.
