Chapter 63

Deanna sighed and made to reply but Ryan’s voice from the door interrupted

“Honey.. I’m home”

“Dad!!” Princeton ran into his arms, giggling like a newly born

Deanna smirked

“Troublesome soul”

“Hey” Ryan pecked Deanna on the cheeks and she flashed a cute smile

“I came with gift” he said and she blinked in curiosity

“What’s that?” She asked and he smiled knowingly, covering her eyes before she could realise

“Hey..” Deanna snapped as he slowly guided her out of the building to the parking lot, Princeton followed without hesitation

“I’m tired okay” Deanna breathed and Ryan smiled removing his hands from her eyes

“Tada..!”.Ryan gushed

Deanna slowly scrunched up her eyes, noticing someone standing opposite her, she looked to see who it was and her eyes widened as a loud gasp escaped her mouth

“Mariana!!!!!!”

Flash Back

“Geez, the audition was really stressful” Ryan groaned as he entered his car, igniting the car engine before finally zooming off

After few minutes of driving, his phone suddenly rang and he peeped to check the caller’s ID before parking the car to answer the call.. it was a colleague of his at work

“Ryan..” A lady suddenly called and he furrowed his brows in surprise, rolling down his tinted glasses quickly

“Hii” he stuttered trying to figure out who she is, her face was nothing close to familiar

But there was something that got his attention, she wore a baggy top, exactly like Deanna’s..

Deanna once told him how she made the same top for herself and Mariana on her birthday, seven years ago.. although he never got to know who Mariana was, he married Deanna three years after her de.ath when he returned from Texas, Although, they already bore Princeton in their college days in Texas

It was more like a friendship top, they were the only ones who had it.. they exchanged names on the cloth as a symbol of love.. Deanna has ‘Mariana’ customized on hers while Mariana had Deanna’s name on hers

“Mariana is definitely dead” Ryan thought

“I have business with your wife, Deanna” The lady said with a smirk, resting on the car window

“Come in please” Ryan breathed, unlocking the doors, she nodded and entered the front seat immediately

“And you are..?” He furrowed his brows

“Roxanne Lee” she smiled dangerously, turning to him

“Sounds strange” Ryan thought

“Well, who are you to her and besides, what business do you have with her” Ryan asked quickly

She turned her back to him

“I’m someone she’d been longing to see for long.. trust me” Roxanne flashed a smile and Ryan nodded slowly

“I just returned from Korea and I’ve been trying to locate her, but it has been so difficult.. glad I found you, I need to pay a surprise visit” she added, trying to remain as convincing as ever

Ryan stared at her suspiciously, taking a swift glance at the name scribbled on the top

‘Deanna’

He was so confused.. Roxanne smiled knowingly

“Trust me, I mean no harm.. she’ ‘ll be so surprised to see me after many years” she said smiling broadly

Back to Present

Her back was facing Deanna, so it was difficult to tell who she is.. her cloth and name made her gasp in shock

That’s her name!!, Mariana and her only owned that cloth

“Mariana..” Deanna eyes widened broadly as she blinked repeatedly..

“Is this a ghost or something?” Her mind screamed

She turned to Ryan who shrugged

Roxanne smirked secretly and slowly turned to her..

Deanna’s arm dropped in mix of relief and disappointment

“Roxanne..?” Deanna was stunned

“Glad you still remember me” Roxanne smiled generously

Deanna flinched secretly, her heart beating madly fast

“What do you want” She stuttered, folding her fists slowly

“You can’t come back now” she thought inwardly

Roxanne smiled, taking a look at the the large compound, she took few steps towards her and placed her right hand on Deanna’s shoulder

She was a bit taller than Deanna.. their eyes bored into each other’s for the next few seconds and Ryan only watched confusedly

“We need to talk.. I’m back now” Roxanne smiled dangerously

Langford’s Conglomerates..

“Pregnant..?!” Chairman James eyes widened

“Yes..”

“How did.. like what.. how did it happen, Dylan claims to have a fiancee” James asked confusedly

“I don’t understand too, according to the doctor’s report she’s four weeks pregnant” Chief Wilson lied knowingly

“Two weeks..?, meaning they mated before the weekend trip?!! They must have been dating secretly and be deceiving us intentionally!!” James gasped

“Whatever it is, we should be happy! Our plans has successfully been accomplished” He added with a shrug, removing his glasses

“Of course” Wilson replied immediately

“And now, you can successfully hand over your properties to the rightful heir since Brinkley has the pregnancy of the Langford’s second grand child with a compulsory grand wedding” Wilson continued

“Definitely!!”

“But we can’t be so sure, Tristan’s fiancee is carrying a Langford’s blood and we don’t know which pregnancy is older” James said

“I don’t care, we definitely must find a way to make sure our children end up together, that was our contract agreement remember” Wilson snapped.

James nodded slowly with a smug smile

“No qualms..”
