“Good morning boss” the interns chorused as Dwayne entered, proceeding to his office through the elevator

It was unusual of him not to reply, his bad mood was obvious on his facial expression

He scoured his eyes around the interns like he was searching for a particular person

“Where’s Tara?” He suddenly said, ignoring their greetings

The interns furrowed their brows in confusion

No one except him knows Cindy bears Tara

“No one bears that name sir” a young lady said

“Are you ¢razy?! Are you trying to say I’m out of my senses!” He growled

The lady flinched

“I’m sorry sir” she bowed

“Tell her to meet me in my office whenever she comes…” He was saying when Cindy came in, looking so sad and lost in thoughts that she didn’t even realize her lateness

Everyone’s gaze landed on her as she slowly walked to her desk, without even noticing Dwayne’s presence

She was lost in her thoughts

“Tara..?” He called, making her stop on her tracks and jolt out of her thoughts

Only one person calls her that!

Dwayne!!

“Dwayne..?” She muttered, turning to the direction she heard his voice from

The interns gasped in surprise

“Is she the Tara?”

“How dare she call boss by name!”

“What nonsense!”

“Wasn’t he supposed to punish her for coming late?!”

They murmured in the awkward silence

“Meet me inside” he said and walked inside leaving the workers in confusion

She dropped her bag on her desk and followed him immediately..

Closing the door behind her, She walked fully into the office gluing her eyes to her white heels

“What’s wrong?” He said immediately, standing up from his seat as he walked to her

“Nothing.. I’m okay” she said in a very low voice

“Com’on talk to me. Are you still sick? I’m sorry okay.., what’s wrong” he said again

Being an emotional person, She broke into tears, crying like a newly born

Dwayne scoffed in surprise as he pulled her closer to himself, making her wet his chest with her tears

“Talk to me Tara, what’s wrong?” He said, stroking her brown long hair fondly

“My family is turning to something else, my sister is pregnant for someone who doesn’t even like her a tiny bit, my brother is sick in the hospital, diagnosed of a terminal illness and my parents never gives us attention. I’m the only normal person ” she hiccuped

He heaved a deep sigh

“I lost my mum too, last night” he muttered as a tear slipped from the corner of his eyes

She slowly hugged him back, sniffing as her tears kept pouring freely

“It hurts to see you cry Tara, you are the only one I have left now” he said in his mind

“Let me stay in your arms for now till I recover a bit, you’re the only one I have for now” she thought..

The Next Day

Grave Yard

Here she was, sitting beside her sister’s grave in grief.. cladded in all black with a black scarf as her cries echoed loudly in the air

Deanna’s tears were uncontrollable, She couldn’t fulfil the promise she made to Mariana of protecting Cathy and the guilt overwhelmed her that she could not control her tears

This was the same thing that happened six years ago ,

Watching in grief was her best friend was being buried and now its happening again

Claribel stood with red and swollen eyes, as she dropped the bouquet of flower on her grave

The pain of losing someone was so saddening especially someone who fought for her till her last breath

Her tears fell freely as the little memories of her flashed in her head increasing the determination of hers to kll Roxanne at all costs

Dylan was on his wheels in sadness

He was the cause of her death!

She was trying to protect him!!

Andrea was also sad and mourning for the beautiful soul that died in terrible pains

“Catherine!, why did it Have to be you!!!’ Annabelle screamed as she wept bitterly.

The mortuary attendants watched in pity

The atmosphere itself witnessed and felt the grief of the sorrowful mourners

Suddenly they heard a voice that made them froze

That was his voice
