CHAPTER 22
For a while Marie watched him talk to the waiter who was happily chatting away, some other boss she knew wouldn’t like interacting with their employee but Romeo turned out to be different, she had once seen him helping a old lady out of the company back in the city, she couldn’t help but to smile.
“What’s funny?” He asked suddenly and she stared at him to find his eyes on her, she didn’t even notice the waiter had left them here.
“Nothing. Is that waiter a friend of yours?” She asked nonchalantly wanting to change the subject.
“Yes. He once tried to steal from Blake and I but we caught him and when we knew if his circumstance, we decided to help instead of putting him in jail ” Romeo said as he went over the menu.
“That’s very admirable” she said suddenly and he stared at her.
“Do you know that that is the first compliment you’ve ever said to me?” He asked still starring at her.
“It’s hardly a compliment, I just find what you both did admirable” she said looking away nervously when she found his penetrating gaze uncomfortable.
“Tell me about yourself Marie” he said suddenly.
“Why? Why are you suddenly interested in knowing about me” she asked in reply.
“Cause I want to” he replied.
“I dont think our marriage entail us knowing about each other, let’s just order” she told him and he did order.
“If you won’t tell me about yourself then you will have to listen to me tell mine” he said while they were eating.
“Don’t you know it’s bad manners to talk while eating? ” she asked and he nodded with a smile on his face.
“I do but that doesn’t stop you from listening to me” he said and began talking about himself.
For a while, she pretended not to hear him but with every story he tell about himself, she finds herself being mesmerised by it and without knowing it, she began asking him questions about himself and his answer made her laugh.
They were still talking as the desert was placed in front of them.
“I didn’t order this?” Romeo asked.
“We know but it’s a courtesy from Mr Blake” The waiter from earlier said.
“Do you mean Blake called you and order this for us?” Romeo asked and the waiter nodded.
“We will eat it then, thanks” Romeo said to the waiter.
“Does Blake knows about me being here?” Marie asked and he nodded.
“Blake is my business partner and my best friend, he knows every of my movement just as I know every of his” Romeo replied as he took a bite of the desert.
“This tastes good, try it” he said to her and Marie did also enjoying the desert.
A while later Marie could be seen smiling like a fool while Romeo kept rubbing his forehead.
“I feel strange like I drank a whole bottle of alcohol” Marie said belching softly.
“Same here but it’s strange, we didn’t even order a bottle of wine, so how…..my head” he muttered still touching his head.
“What’s wrong with your head?” Marie asked feeling dizzy.
“It feels fuzzy, I think sleeping it off will help, let’s go back upstairs” he told her as he stood up staggering a bit.
Marie did the same and they both walked out of the hotel club not seeing the mischievous grin on the waiter who had served them the desert.
“Your head is two” Marie commented as they walk into Romeo room.
“If I had two head then I will be a dragon” he replied and Marie burst out laughing even as they sat on the sofa.
“Do you know that you have a lovely smile?” Romeo asked looking up at her while he layed back on the sofa.
“Did you just notice?” She asked as she move towards him.
“I did. Am not too late right?” The drunk Romeo asked looking serious.
“Too late for what?” The drunk Marie replied.
“For your affection. You might not remember this tomorrow but I….” He stopped when Marie kssed him on the lips .
“Marie you…..”
“You have a tempting lips” Marie muttered.
“Really? Then kss me again” he said to her which she did.
Marie bent over him, kssing his lips while her hair tumbled over covering their face.
It grew hot and Marie found herself peeling Romeo suit away while his hands roamed over her.
They both stopped to stare at each other, the look in both their eyes got rid of any doubt and they began again.
Now only in his trousers, Romeo lifted her into his arms while she wrapped her arms around his neck, the two kept kssing even as they got to the bed room.
In the back of her mind, Marie knew that she should stop him but she didn’t want to. She was in too deep and there was no turning back, she thought as she gave herself to Romeo.

~ THE NEXT DAY~
Marie opened her eyes due to the sun drifting in through the open window. She stretched only to feel someone legs beside her.
Startled, she turned only to see Romeo sleeping beside her.
What happened last night? The last thing she remember was eating the desert and everything else is blank to her.
She was about sitting up when she noticed that she was naked along with Romeo.
Did she really do it? Did they make love to each other? She thought as the realisation hit her making her aware that she had her first time with Romeo.
