CHAPTER 7

FORGIVE ME, KIMMIE

Eastwood High School.

Jayden was in the middle of flirting with a fellow student when he suddenly heard Kimberly’s angry roar.

“JAYDEN!!!” Kimberly shouted, obviously furious and not minding the students around.

“Oh no, not again!” Jayden exclaimed, quickly fleeing while Kim chased after him.

“Somebody, please stop her! I’m going crazy!” Jayden muttered as he ran for his life, but Kim was determined to catch him at all costs.

“Hey, stop!” the PE teacher yelled after them, but his efforts were futile. He had to start running after them as well to intervene.

Jayden dashed through the crowd of students, bumping into some along the way.

“Can’t you stop now? You better stop, Jayden!” Kim seethed as she chased him.

“You should be the one stopping; you’re not in your right senses, Kim!” he shouted.

“Both of you, stop right now!” the PE teacher yelled after them.

Jayden exerted all his strength as he ran, and eventually, he bumped into someone, breathing heavily.

Miss Ina gasped loudly as she fell to the ground, but Jayden quickly caught her by the waist.

Sweaty and panting, Miss Ina stared at him, while the students couldn’t help but gush and drool.

“He looks so handsome!”

“I wish I were in his arms right now!”

“He’s always so attractive…Jay is amazing!”

“I can’t get enough of him, seriously.”

Jayden glanced back at Miss Ina, also breathing heavily, momentarily forgetting about being chased.

Miss Ina’s sudden hiccup brought him back to his senses. He gave her a flirty smirk and wink before leaving her.

“Jayden!” Kim was closing in on him.

“Shoot!” Jayden started running again, but it seemed he couldn’t keep up for long.

“You’re dead!” Kimberly gnashed her teeth as she tried to jump in the air and kick him, but unfortunately, she missed her step and fell on her face instead.

“Ah!” She winced as she hit the ground.

The surrounding students burst into mocking laughter.

Jayden stopped and looked at her for a moment. He would have gone to help her up, but the furious look she had on her face made him flee from there.

Kim felt a mixture of anger and embarrassment. Students were already laughing at her, murmuring indistinctly.

“HEY! KIMBERLY JONES!” The PE teacher’s voice echoed, and without any other option, she closed her eyes and pretended to pass out.

“I promise to get you for this, Jayden…” she seethed inwardly.

Kimberly ended up spending the rest of the day in the infirmary, while Jayden received community service as punishment.

“I heard you caused trouble at school again today,” Melody said with her arms folded as Jayden entered the house.

“I really think trouble will stir up if I don’t eat right now. Get me some food.”

“Am I your maid? Go get it yourself.”

“Wow…what a caring sister I’ve got, huh?”

“I heard the school called Mom…you’ll be in trouble when she comes back.”

“Maybe I shouldn’t have come home…ahh…I’m really not in the mood for her lecture today.”

“Then you shouldn’t have gotten into trouble. I think she’s going to be furious when she comes back.”

“Sht…why am I surrounded by people who just want to get rid of me?” Jayden ruffled his hair in frustration.

“So…what are you going to do?” Melody asked.

“Hey, when she comes back, tell her you haven’t seen me today,” Jayden replied.

“Why should I?” Melody questioned.

“Just do it. And in case that psycho stops by too… tell her you don’t have a brother anymore,” Jayden said urgently.

“Kim?” Melody inquired.

“Just tell both of them I’m dead,” Jayden said, while Melody shook her head.

“Don’t forget! You mustn’t tell them you’ve seen me!” Jayden warned as he rushed to his room upstairs.

“Tonight is going to be one hell of a night for him…” Melody muttered.

Kimberly marched into the house, looking rather deadly. Without uttering a word to anybody, she walked straight to her room.

“Today must have gone bad,” Fern said from the kitchen.

“Judging from her expression, her plan must have failed,” Scarlett, who was with him, added.

“I wonder what happened,” Fern mumbled. Just then, his phone rang.

“Hey,” he said upon picking up.

“Kim…she just came in. No… she looks rather furious…did something happen? Ahhh… I should have thought so…alright, thanks for the tip,” he ended the call.

“Who?” Scarlett asked.

“Melody…apparently something happened at school. I think Jayden is involved.”

“Again? Ugh! I’m not surprised anymore…they can sort it out between themselves,” Scarlett remarked.

“Kim’s eyes scare me…what do you think she’s going to do?” Fern questioned. Just then, Kim descended the stairs with a golf club in her hand.

“Oh, that’s Dad’s…Mom, shouldn’t you stop her?” Fern said.

“What’s there to stop…I’m sure they’ll sort it out themselves,” Scarlett muttered before going back to what she was doing.

“Oh, I hope no one gets hurt…but judging from Kim’s expression right now… Jayden is really in for it…” Fern shook his head.

Henshaw’s Mansion

“Hey, Melody,” Kim said.

“Kimmy, hi!” Melody smiled.

“Where is he?” Kim asked anxiously.

“He asked me to tell you he’s dead,” Melody replied cheerfully.

“Alright…I’ll just go make sure he’s really dead,” Kim said and went upstairs.

“Be easy on him!” Melody shouted after her.

Kimberly reached Jayden’s room and tried to open the door, but it was locked. She smirked and pulled out a spare key from her pocket, unlocking the door. She entered and looked around, but there was no sight of Jayden. She heard the shower running, but then it stopped. Seconds later, Jayden came out of the bathroom with only a towel wrapped around his waist.

“Sht! How the heck did you get in here?” Jayden exclaimed.

“Wouldn’t you like to know?” Kim clenched her palm around the golf club in her hand.

“Hey, Kim, wait…it hasn’t gotten to this, right? Let’s talk this out,” Jayden tried to calm her down.

“Just come here… and let me kll you without any problems,” she moved closer, while he started running around the room.

“I think I’ve chased you enough today…I don’t want to continue that, Jay,” Kim said.

“Kim, don’t be angry and just listen to me, okay? It was just… I was just trying to make you prettier, trust me,” Jayden pleaded.

“Jayden!!!” she howled, throwing the golf club at him. Jayden gasped.

Jayden let out a loud gasp as the flame on the wall behind him shattered into pieces on the floor. He froze, staring at her.

“Kim…?” he uttered in surprise.

Kim moved closer to him, her anger evident as she forcefully pushed his chest, causing him to fall to the ground.

“Are you having fun? This must be really entertaining for you!” she exclaimed in frustration. “Because of you, I looked like a complete fool today. Because of someone like you, I made a fool of myself in front of him! Why did you make me look pretty if you were only going to torment me? You should have left me the way I was before! You shouldn’t have started anything if you were going to make it so difficult for me!” She ranted angrily, while Jayden remained silent, unable to find the right words.

“I… really hate you, seriously,” she gritted out before storming out of the room.

The sound of the slamming door snapped Jayden back to reality.

“Oh, shoot,” he muttered, quickly getting up to go after her. However, as he opened the door, he found it impossible to close it back immediately since Annabelle held onto it tightly.

“Dear son, it’s time to eat,” she said, smiling sweetly at him. Jayden immediately held his stomach.

“Oh, Mom… I must be sick… I think I have appendicitis,” he groaned, placing his hand on the right side of his stomach.

“It’s not on that side, but the other,” Annabelle corrected him, and he quickly switched his hand to the left side.

“Ow! Ow! It hurts, Mom… Am I dying?” He feigned pain, while Annabelle tugged at his ear.

“Ow, Mom!”

“Don’t worry, you’re not dying. Let’s go, I need to make you healthier,” she said, still holding onto his ear as she led him downstairs.

“Ouch! Mom, let go! Mom, please! It hurts, seriously! At least let me put something on, it’s damn cold! MOM!”
